Thats gotto limit your choice of cars now that Chrysler was given away to Fiat for free to avoid a complete, cross the board bankruptcty. there isnt much Mopar left in the new Fiat run Chrysler. Infact they had to promise to replace all exsisting models with Fiat bases or Obama wouldnt cancel their insane debts.
It`s "extreme" in America , I guess. In Japan or even in Europe, I guess, it`s just a fooling around... No hating but I don`t care how powerful or "cool" this car is unless I can quickly get that fat american lady around the corners. Dragrace is a redneck sport and fun is not a straight line! Everyone can do burnouts or go straight at high speeds. No skill needed. Go quickly around corners or drift at high speeds - that`s the shit. For me best US sports car is Corvette.
Who cares what you guys think is a better car,why are you even looking at challenger videos then huh? Im canadian and I love my challenger, I didnt buy it cause im american,i bought it cause its a bad ass mofo ride and i didnt want a tuner rice rocket. U say euro cars a better cause of there stats? Wake up,they get market by a different criteria, whats you say is good and bad differs here. And they cant be that bad cause they still are making them.
@GreatWhiteHyype how about the fact that those 'rice rockets' created drifting, are more affordable to the average joe, and dont guzzle fuel into its 8 bottomless cylinders.
@Exgaves ok i understand ur like of ricers, but those muscle cars actually did invent drifting its called power sliding, its just gas and brake the japanese just decided it would b easier with the e-brake
@MegaHateusernames this is from a site called The History Of Drifting and I quote "Drifting began in Japan in 1970 as a racing technique in the All Japan Touring Car Championship and by 1977 was a huge favorite among Japanese race crowds.
Its such a ridiculous idea that some person "invented" drifting. For fucks sake its about NOT having any grip. Its NOT a viable race technique. Its like american bullshit wrestling. All show and big words. A sport for japs and children.
@Janusha Jan has a point... i think pretyt much every culture has their own take on making a car slide is called or meant to be. but japan was the first country to actually take it as a form of motorsport... just sayin.
all my argument is about is saying you shouldnt just stick to "muscles are better because they just are."
i love the power in muscles with a passion. doesnt mean rice rockets suck because "they just do"
To continue the comparison to american wrestling.. In a real fight against a compact, properly diciplined, real fighter, such as real racecars or supercars, all those huge muscles and big words out of american wrestlers count for nothing. Showing off is most times very different from actual skill.
While the entire world of racing are spending billions to keep the cars glued to the road with ever new tech and materials, these jokers are trying their best to make it slide.
@Janusha so what your telling me... is that cornering in a fancy car that has more computer script then parts, which controls every aspect of traction, IS ACTUALLY more impressive then a man driving on a mountain road in complete control to break traction, and where most would lose control still take corners on the side of a cliff.
Whats impressive for the kids and whats actually efficient are wildly different concepts Im sure you would agree.
I used to race myself and personally I see much more skill in the wildest cars ever made, 1980s Group B rally than in F1. The way they throw their cars around bends and use the gas pedal for steering aswell as for acceleration, is to me, much more impressive. However... drifting just for the sakes of seeing a car go sideways is an abomination. A cheap thrash version of racing.
@Janusha there are people who see drifting as an art, and those who do it because they think its "hip" and will pull the ladies. (those are the people who usually find themselves wrapped around a poll with a bunch of drunk mates)
do not confuse the two. your argument shouldnt be with drifting, your problem is with those who see it as a cheap show-off act.
Ladies are different. They dont understand cars. They will go for a guy for status and to be provided for. As such they will care how much a car is worth in reflection to how much the guy driving it is worth but they arent attracted to the actual capabilities or looks of a car. I grew up near a military airport. We had endless runways in the forest where we did all kinds of shit with cars. When they crashed or broke down, we dumped them on a frozen lake-
-and they disappeared when the ice broke. Point is.. "Drifting" is a result of any car based activity. Reducing car activity down to ONLY one segment is like... Having world championships in opening and closing doors or crashing into trees. Its just a bi-product that is commercialised, branded and sold back to us with a nametag.
Dude... you are what.. 20? Everything and everyone will seem old when you are just out of being a teenager. You like teenage shit. "drifting" as lame as it is, is aimed at you. You find it cool and think it requires racedriver skills because thats what you are being told. Step back and see the larger picture.
@Janusha the larger picture being motor racing, in any way shape or form will always take driving skils beyond that of a casual comuter.
wether your race is with a multimillion dollar F1 car or a crapbox that you love to test in someones paddock on a track with mates, certain skills will always be required. drifting is no different.
wow this has nothing to do with the original argument. anyway. Drifting is not a lesser sport, although most see it as cheezy its simply just more accessable.
Drifting is for children and japs. End of story. Like I said before. Its like comparing american wrestling to actual martial arts fighting. Silly voices, big muscles and superhero costumes wouldnt stand a chance in hell against a real fighter. Also like wrestling it can be enjoyable to watch aslong as you know its all fake and showing off. If you watch drifting, thinking these guys ACTUALLY are a match for proper racing, then you are very wrong.
@Janusha so you tell me it is more impressive to have a car with more computer script then actual parts practically driving itself is more impressive then a man taking a car to its limits on control where most would crash... no i guess your right. cars controlling themselves are much better..
also if theres a problem with americans wasting money on pointless shit.. thats what americans do. they spent millions on a pen to write in outer space. what did the germans use? a pencil.
@MegaHateusernames Hahaha, so fucking true. I did that shit when I was 16- before drifting was considered a sport. Fucking ricers think they invented the shit. See my car actually has enough power to slide around without even touching the e-brake. 2000 Camaro SS 6 speed- and no turbo or any bullshit needed to smoke any fucking ricer. just over 400hp and naturally aspirated. Cry about gas mileage ricers? I get 30mpg on the highway, and around town- its worth the extra few bucks to drive
@MegaHateusernames Love that year challenger- that was before they went to that GTO looking front grill. Nice, although in 1970 it would have been a 383 or a 440. I am going to be getting a pro-charger this summer so we'll have to see what numbers I put up then. Just upgraded the suspension and got a better rear end. She should haul ass.
@MegaHateusernames hey before you go on rant who invented drifting you wanna do some research cause power sliding and drifting are completly different.
@MegaHateusernames Your talking out your ass bro, the terminology (drifting) was invented in the mountains of Japan. The definition of power slide is one controlled slide, drifting is a series of linked controlled slides under power. Muscle cars were not the inventor of drifting as we all know Muscle cars are for straight line useless yanks, drifting a 2 plus tone straight line under-steering peace of shit is not my idea of drifting.
@MegaHateusernames I'm not a ricer, in fact, I own an SRT8 Challenger. But, I'm gonna have to disagree with your definition of drifting. A power slide is just one controlled slide. A drift, is a series of controlled slide, and that was invented in Japan. Thus, power sliding was invented here, drifting in Japan. Everyone's fucking happy, no more ricer hating shit.
You Americans.. I love when Brits or Canadians says that. I love my challenger. It's far more fun then my last car. Even if most of the time I'm stuck in traffic :/
I agree that most of their cars are redressed but for some reason Its just a ton of fun... Its a problem child and is a challenge... That camaro v8 was very slow on the top gear track but i would rather have that cause its just so much fun and you have to be that good to be able to get it right.. True if i wanted to win I'd buy something better but its just a nice feeling to step on the throttle and get a non electric response..
Sure these things are probably fun. However the Challenger is just a redressed Chrysler C300 which again is a discarded Mercedes base from the mid 90s. the only thing they did to its (lack of) handling and capabilities is to fit that huge engine. Again Im sure they are fun but when people start waving flags and try to pass them off as anything but cheap novelty vehicles then it gets silly. They are cheap for a reason. They arent porsche contenders even if they have twice as large engines.
@Janusha True but thats the whole point... Cheap car, big engine, tuning possibilities... If I had the money I'd rather but an amg cls63... Hell any german car but thats not the case as yet...
Yep. We dont drive german or Japanese for that matter because we love nazis..I mean Germans or Japs. We dont care where the car comes from aslong as the price and quality is right. We dont mix patriotism into it like americans inevitably do. However were taxed on cars in Europe. Emissions, engine size, weight, power, all environmental stuff. A 6 litre monstrosity here ends up costing the same as a Ferrari 360. And they just werent built to compete at that level. Unless youre REALLY a Dodge fan.
Alot of americans dont know that. Thats ONE of the reasons american cars dont really sell in Europe. That is also the reason why Europeans go for alot more research and development to create new tech to get power and performance out of smaller engines. To keep the taxes low. My Lotus Elise is a brilliant car but comes out much cheaper due to its 1.8 litre engine. I recently drove the Tesla Roadster. Americans find it too expensive but here it escapes all environment-taxes so we find it cheap.
Well.. to be honest. They dont give you that enormous V8 because they spent months researching and developing and came to the conclusion an enormous 6.2 litre monstrosity was the best option. The huge engine is there for people to get all patriotic over. Its the centrepiece. Its there to disguise the complete lack of other features like handling, technology, buildquality and general styling. Those things are what costs money and thats exactly where US-cars have alot of catching up to do.
@Janusha Your Lotus Elise has a Toyota engine idiot. Cuz the last time Lotus tried to make an engine i blew the fuck up after 20,000 miles. How about you get your head out of European ass and do some real research. How about you read some non European bias bullshit. You rely on Jeremy Clarksons opinions on American cars... Really? You think this is fact? The reason American cars don't sell in Europe is gas prices, n nobody can afford them w/ taxes. + way too big for your tiny ass roads.
@Janusha Yes, Gm is having problems, No American cars are not crap. JD power placed the average reliability rating of European manufacturers beneath Japanese and American companies. Honestly most people are fart'n around in Peugeot, Renault, Seat, and Citroen hatch's. Sry but they are far from being as robust as most American made products. Sadly you guys get the shitty Daewoo's over there, We only get the spark from Korea here. Most Gm vehicles are still made here.
@Janusha Secondly, many claimed figures by American manufacturers have been severely underestimated. The stock Mustang 5.0 produces almost 425 hp, the Camaro v6 is at least 15 hp underrated. I have seen very few claims from American manufacturers that were tested to be false by even many European bias xources. From Autocar, Evo and Automobile +. When companies test 0-60/ 1/4 mile and slalom, they make sure conditions are perfect. They are not lies, they are in conditions not easily duplicated.
American cars dont sell here because of taxes. Emissions, engine size, engine output, car weight... all environmental stuff. American cars with their cast iron frames and huge engines traditionally score badly. Forexample 5 litre Mustang is a cheap way to get a V8 in USA but here ends up costing Porsche money. A Corvette ends up same price as a Lamborghini. At that price its really hard to ignore the squeeky plastic associated with US-products. They were never designed to compete at that level.
There is simply no reason to choose american. Sure we pay more for our cars but we expect quality. And Im sorry but aslong as GM builds their shit in Korea, Brazil and Mexico, quality aint gonna happen. Cheapass squeeky plastic for the masses is their goal. And that shit wont fly here. However CLAIM is what americans do best these days. Claiming European Fords as american products, claiming best in the wooorld when really they are on their ass. Claiming fake nurburgring lap times. All hype.
@Janusha Don't you see? What we mass produce for everybody beats some of the best of Europe. I respect the detail and build quality of German manufacturers, but they are far more guilty of redressing old platforms then American manufacturers, and charge you twice as much. Dodge viper ACR- destroys cars three times it price. Saleen s7, expensive as fuck, but its faster and almost as refined as the Mclaren f1. Mosler, same story. Cts-v once again. We get 80% of the refinement for 1/4 of the price.
@Janusha Cast Iron Frame?? its not 1960 anymore. Listen man, a mustang is the equivalent of a Clio in Europe. its the "peoples car" but the middle of the range GT is faster in and straight line and equal around a track to the M3. The chassis is equal. In America, the shier price/ performance ratio makes up for a plastic interior, Yes American cars don't work well in Europe. But I am sick of European road testers saying they are shit, when our average cars outclass everything short of Ferrari's
SSC sold what.. 10 cars. Dodge Viper is dead and gone. Why.. because it was just too good? The ACR Viper is a full blown racecar and does NOT represent the capabilities of the SRT10. While on the topic. Dont put faith in those highly modified Nurburgring times. Whether its the Corvette, Nissan GTR or ACR. Hell even Cadillac showed up and claimed wooorlds best. All hype. Saleen S7. Out of business for what.. 5 years after selling 20 cars. Mosler built some 30 cars.
While americans love to wave flags in honor of their cars, they certainly stop waving those flags when its time to step up and actually buy one. You love to brag about your tuneshops and ultra limited racecar-derived supercar attempts but they dont represent the cars america is actually building. Which today is Korean, mexican, Brazilian blend of mundane vehicles. Quality doesnt come out of third world countries. Unless you like cater-for-all squeeky plastic for the masses. Grats on that.
@Janusha You are obviously English. Fucking clueless, but you still have an opinion about everything. You don't even have an automotive industry on your bankrupt rock of a country. No offense, I actually love visiting the UK, but ppl like you..... Have you driven in an American car in America??? Obviously not. Most production is still done here. The shitty cars sold over there are in some cases Daiwoo's. Cuz all you want are cheap little cars. Stop taking shit, when you don't know.
@Janusha Actually SSc limited production to 50 cars. More then say.... Pagani with a puny 35 cars sold. Acr is a production road car. Saleen is far from being out of business and you can still order the fourth fastest car on earth today!!. It is being replaced by the world beating 650 hp S5s though. The Cts-v is legitimately registered to have been the fastest production sedan on Nurburgring now beaten only by the Panamera turbo.. Its not rumor, its registered. Mosler/ saleen sold a ton of cars.
Not in all of history has there ever been an american limited car. Dont you think SSC would build a car for each household in america if they could sell the damn thing? Limited my arse. If you call them and order a car. Do you think they can afford to turn you down by saying, no its limited. Pfff hahaha. Hillarious. Also.. 50 cars. They have sold around 10. Most of them to crazy arabs. Only like.. 3 in USA. Even with a wooooorld record to its name. Meanwhile Bugatti sold 300 at twice the price.
How predictable.. attacking my nationality. Too bad americans only display their desperate lack of understanding of anything outside GOS OWN COUNTRY, when they lash out in anger. I went to the Paris Autoshow. 6 of the GMs presented there were korean Daewoo made american by gluing the GM badge on them. How this is deserving of your diehard patriotism, I will never know. The leaders of GM and Chrysler are white collar criminals that cost america half a trillion and you keep defending them. Amazing
Saleen sold a ton of cars... But built around 20. The rest were tuned mustangs. Thats what america does. Tune mustangs in stead of making performance cars. Mosler. I knew a guy at Mosler. he told me 37 cars in total. He also told me they use so much Corvette parts that even their marketing department calls it a midengined Corvette. Some of them were brittish built.
@Janusha This is coming from a guy who thought that Saleen had been out of business for five years, How predictable. You attack my nationality right back in a flurry of good ol English hypocrisy as usual, and still has the nerve to claim all of this "knowledge". I am not disagreeing that Europe gets shitty Daewoos, we don't care. The cars made in America are largely still made in America. yes, everybody dislikes GM for outsourcing a lot of component manufacturing. U don't know anyone at Mosler.
@Janusha I am not directly defending GM. You are making ignorant blanket statements about various companies & subjects in ignorance. I am simply correcting with facts. All your comments have proven is ur poor understanding of the automotive industry as a whole, and how bigotous your judgments are about the United States. U Probably watched some one sided bull shit on the BBC or saw it on Top Gear and felt like proving how detached European media is from reality.
@Janusha Of course ppl would rather have the Veyron. It might be an overweight pig that doesn't come near the Mclaren F1 or s7 in focus, but its good for sheik's with a soft ass. If you take average American cars "in America" and compare them to average European cars. The difference is clear. A Renault Clio is made of shittier plastic then Focus. A Peugeot 408 interior is way worse then a Malibu. Mondeo/ Laguna/ Linea< Taurus, Lacross, Regal. Seat< everything. Vauxhall/ Opel is fucking Gm.
@Janusha I spent a lot of time all over Western and Eastern Europe. American cars are noticeably more reliable, comfortable, and more luxurious then their European counterparts. European companies are just as guilty of outsourcing production. look at yr country's industry for instance. Every shitty plastic panel in yr cars are made in the same place ours are.. East Asia. Get the fuck over it. Stop watching the fucking BBC. I love high end European cars, but i cant stand ignorant assholes.
Saleen havent built a single car for about 5 years you silly arse. Im not English and I do not attach your fucking cars or your nation. I know you bewildered flagwaving fools are proud of your cars and insanely nationalistic. Any hint of criticism is always met with OMG.. YOU HATE AMERICA !!! Its amazing how americans keep bragging their SaleenS7, Ford GTs even tho they havent been built for 4-5 years. But I guess thats all you got to brag about so you need to stretch it as far as possible.
How american. All you do is contradict. Where exactly was I wrong? You just dont like me saying it because it contradicts your nationaistic views. Useless.
Whether the topic is politics, cars, economy or god help us all... your damn army, there is only a matter of time before the arrogance and patriotism kicks in. Followed by relentless, infernal flagwaving. If americans had the ability to accept facts or look abroad for answeres you might not be in the mess you are today. Grats.
@Janusha I said nothing about the Ford Gt... Americans?? cuz we are all the same?? your a hypocritical asshole who knows nothing about the automotive industry. So instead of making a valid argument, you attack my culture and my society with generalizations and ignorant misconceptions that only make you look like an asshole. You can still order a fucking Saleen s7 you fucking idiot. stop commenting on my posts unless you can make a legitimate argument instead of attacking my culture you fuck.
@Janusha What are you 10 yrs old?? Why am i wasting my time on someone so stupid they don't know when to stfu. but no, you still continue to blatantly and ignorantly spew hate because you cannot maintain a legitimate debate. Your ignorance, and lack of knowledge precedes you. Keep talking shit asshole, You are doing a great job of convincing people of your point this way. Either prove me wrong with some facts, or stop commenting on my posts. Fucking pillock.
Haha I dont know which is worst. That you can still order a Saleen but nobody does or the fact that its been dead and gone for 4-5 years. They tried to launch the yellow Saleen Raptor which they were promoting. Which was finally going to be a proper car instead of a racecar with numberplates. Then Saleen himself was forced to leave the company, they sold off all their car making equipment and instead of going bankrupt, went back to tuning Mustangs. You are american and should know this.
I dont give a shit what you drive over there. I studied marketing and social anthropology in Uni. Ive researched the car industry. I became a games designer but my interest is in brand identitty and social trends. Difference between demologies. You might not like what I say but I can promise you Im qualified to say it. My observation is that the american car business is funded entirely on wild claims, hype and thick layers of patriotism. When patriotism no longer sold cars, it all collapsed.
@Janusha Your an idiot. I am an automotive designer. don't fucking tell me about the automotive industry. I have been in several s7's its not a thinly disguised race car, its quite refined and comfortable with a full leather interior which is quite quiet, but you wouldn't know that cuz u don't know shit. I was in a 2009 s7 after the Detroit auto show at Camilo Pardo's place. An 09 you fucking twat. We were debating the quality of American cars. You have proven how little u know.go back to gaming
@Janusha How is someone who thinks Demologies is a subject qualified to tell me about cars? Its Demographics you fucking idiot. You are only qualified to dick around in Maya and bullshit on you tube. Stop commenting and pick up a magazine and read it. In that magazine are these things called stats and benchmarking. Many magazines have them, there are even testers on the interwebs you can source from all over the world. They ALL provide pretty close to the same data. Cite your sources fucktard.
Ok demographics. You got me there. English is my third language. ALso It seems Saleen DID resume production of a few cars after 2005 but like I said, are bankrupt today. These things arent MY opinion. I read about it in american press. They have produced so few cars that I rarely hear about them. How you can deny its a racecar with numberplates is beyond me. They make most of them for racing and they are virtually the same car.
You being a car designer.. what have you worked on then? And perhaps you can enlighten me as to why americans dont produce supercars or indeed quality cars at all. Why is there so little focus on design in US cars. Its not just Ferraris and Lambos for the super rich. USA dont produce supercars but they also dont produce GT cars, Sports saloons, Sporty SUVs, Hatchbacks, hothatches, track cars or sportscars. Infact no car at all aiming at quality and technology.
@Janusha Are you trying to piss me off or do you honestly believe that??? If you honestly believe that, I can pm you a whole shitload of links to various magazine articles, reviews, spec sheets, and even some GM, Ford, and Chrysler tech video's. But at this point i am pretty sure you just want to argue for the sake of arguing. I would strongly recommend you read up on companies R&D, and product line up. Consumer reports/ JD power rank European manufacturers lower then American/Japanese
@Janusha I named just a few very high quality cars earlier in our debate that gravely outclassed their rivals abroad. How about you go back, read them, read up about them in depth, then come back and explain in what way they are crap. Blatantly stating American cars are crap after this debate showcases how poor your comprehension skills are, maybe you need to go back to Uni then.
MJ Acquisitions recently sent a letter to all certified Saleen and Racecraft dealers stating that customers will have to pay for any repair costs because Saleen Inc. has ceased operations. It clearly states that, “MJ Acquisitions, Inc. is not responsible or obligated to cover warranties and/or any financial liabilities of Saleen, Inc.” The bad news applies to all Saleen products sold prior to February 2, 2009. If instead of arguing, you would ask google, you would find 100 similar articles.
Saleen, Inc. has all but disappeared. Some folks at the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club (SOEC) have reportedly spoken to Saleen, Inc. attorneys, who’ve simply said the company has ceased operations and has no money to cover warranties. Other SOEC members report being told that Saleen, Inc. is not seeking bankruptcy protection and is instead quietly dying. Saleen himself got kicked out in 2005 due to disagreements but didnt quit officially til 2007.
You americans.. when you stare too long at your own stuff without looking elsewhere you can make any car sound best. While totally forgetting the fact that they sell 20 cars and die. Perhaps you could explain why american supercar attempts never catch a public appeal and why there is never a focus on quality. As a thinly disguised racecar I dont doubt its capabilities but to compare it to a Koenigsegg or Enzo... wow. Those are big words. I have a friend at Koenigsegg and know their cars well.
@Janusha Ok so i have an 69 Oldsmobile cutlass i inherited from my dad he bought it new only 120,000 miles on it not done a single thing on it and runs perfect ok it may not be good around turns but put it on a straight away and it'll leave your ass in the dust no matter it facing a lambo Ferrari. We Americans could care less about look but more about power so screw off and buy a real car.
Speed is cheap. Infact racecars have done largely the same speeds since the 60s. They did 600 mph at Bonneville with ancient technology. Whats changed since then is handling, buildquality, safety and styling. All of which are areas where american cars have yeeaars for catching up to do. American cars somehow chose not to compete in those brackets. Which leaves them bragging about quarter miles and skidpads.
@Janusha Are you stupid in the 60s they were doin what toppin 250 300mph now you can get our cars to top like 500 ok your car may be able to handle better but i dont give a flyin rats ass cause when we get on a straight as i said before were gone and your in the dust.
@Janusha Janusha, I have BEEN in various s7's, driven them around.. Have you, no. It is remarkably sound deadened, has a full excellent stereo, air con, very plush leather seats, leather dash/ beautiful gauges. Honestly its much nicer then say a CCR or an Enzo by far + its noticeably faster and easier to maintain. But once again. You don't know shit. Stop commenting on my posts unless you can make a valid argument based in fact...
@janusha Look i dont really care where your alegiances lie your bullshitting yourself. people love what they love and thats the fact, i personally drive a 2003 F-150 and i have never had a single issue with it while it is sitting at 100,000 and still running strong i love it because all your foreign jap machines have tought me is that they are throw aways after 100,000 miles. your entitled to your opinion as i am mine but quit spamming the bulletens with your cluster fuck nonsense
This doesnt stop the car from Being big as a whale and incapable of out running a stock 22 thousand dollar SS cobalt thats a low 13 sec car. What a Douch!
Go to your local Dodge dealership and drive a Challenger SRT8 with the 6.1 liter HEMI and let me know how fake you think it is. I should know, I work at a Dodge dealership and drive one almost every week. Not bias, just saying... (The 2010 Camaro SS is new, and it still sucks.)
I have a car like this an I paid $42,000 for it...is a nice ride,,few days ago I put some 22" rims and they look nice...expecialy on these type of cars
Haha!! The "Balcony"!! Memories of this track. I've ran many Super Gymkhana drift events here in my S13 Coupe and 240sx. I've also ran the streets of Willow many times which is just in front of this course.
On another note, I can't believe he did that in an automatic!! Impressive. I wished they did the Charger the same instead of that four door they came up with.....
i wounder what the concept was like, all carbon fiber body with that hp, drifting? that would kick the ...... ....... .... out of all of those imports with thier crotch-rocket fart can mufflers.
Janusha, you will never see me drive a piece of shit jap car. All American, all the way. And sorry that the Challenger of 2010 has the a new and improved 650hp viper engine as a choice. I'm also sorry that the US has the best muscle in any class.
Your ignorent. Im preetty sure you take that viper v10 to the boys at audi, bmw, ferrari fack even GM they be able to find way more ponies than 650 out of aq 8.4l. They would be able to build a chassis to take the power too!!!!
First of all, its a 300C, not C300... Second, nobody seems to agree with you, as the thumbs down indicate. Finally, prove to me how the 300C started out as a Mercedes.
This is based on the Chrysler 300C which is based on the rear-wheel drive Chrysler LX platform which is derived from the discontinued W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class of 1996.
US car manufactorers wont make a new car when they can redress old cheap stuff. Which is why the american car business has declined and fallen decades behind. Ofcourse this coment will be red marked aswell because the american patriotism forbids anyone to dislike anything american. Even tho all americans soon drive Toyotas.
old tried things like the lx plattform and the hemi engine are much better then new over-sophisticated, unrepairable, obstructed and overpriced shit.
i wouldn't say my audi a8 is shit, but the repairs are too complicated and too expensive, the guys from the garag are overwhelmed .....never again this car
Old and tried are words that kinda describes the entire american car industry. Sure... I agree that todays cars are overly complicated but not joining the technology race, not modernising, has left america hopelessly behind in the car world. Producing ever more cater-for-all squeeky plastic for the masses while Europeans (and Japs) has a totally different focus both on performance, quality and mpg. In USA technology seems to be reserved for NASA and the army. There is certainly none in cars.
Why fix what aint broke... Again words that has left the american auto industry in the dust. Hopelessly behind its competition. However in the world of pickups they dont have any competition tho. Which is why the pickup sales has carried the US-car industry way past its sell-by-date all on its own.
@Janusha u only say this bc ur a very arrogant person who was probably raised into thinking that all American cars are bad and very far behind ill let u in on a secret American car companies have "woken up" and are building better cars than ever before the reason that they had to make compromises in the past was due to the bills the businesses had to pay to their unwanted UNION WORKERS who don't do shit right and complain when they get caught making a mistake. a lot of people like these cars :)
Blame the unions, greedy dealers, high wages, whatever you want to blame the fact remains. If USA had been building proper cars, they would be in the shit they have been in. USA and american car companies are broke today. But they werent always broke. They used to have more money than they knew what to do with and they still didnt produce quality vehicles. American cars have always been sold on patriotism. Never quality. Well.. today patriotism just isnt enough.
@Janusha ok tell that to the people who've bought and love theses cars .....i guarantee that you will not be able to persuade them otherwise ;) and i will never buy a foreign car for as long as i live, i know others will disagree with me but i will not be persuaded otherwise.....good day sir...
I know you cant tell patriotic americans their squeeky plastic GM is crap. Its like telling the pope there is no god. There is after all no end to how american cars are glorified. They have successfully linked cars to THE AMERICAN DREEAM, Liberty freedom and all that is good about america for decades. There is no reason for US-car builders to make quality when they can simply sprinkle their steel with patriotism and get away with shameless profiteering for decades. No wonder their business died.
@Janusha I couldn't have said it better. This is exactly my opinion. Having a big car equals living the American Dream. When it comes to patriotism, Americans aren't able to think straight anymore. The indoctrination starts very early in school, linking patriotism to all sorts of economical and political desires.
Basically... In america big was always better. Until crisis hit, then they wanted smaller cars, USA didnt build any so today the top 10 most popular cars in america. 6 top are asian, 2 next are european fords and the next 2 are pickups. STILL americans refuse to build smaller cars. And ofcourse.. for saying this, we all hate america, liberty, freedom and all that crap too. They are too arrogant to see that we dont buy their cars because they simply arent good enough.
Go to Edmunds dot com and look at top 50 best selling cars of 2010. Only 7 of them are american brands and only 3 out of those 7 can be called american cars. You americans just refuse to understand how badly american cars have fallen.
Dont forget.. it was when AMEIRCANS stopped buying american that your entire car industry came crumbling down and took Michigan with it. Europeans cant be blamed for that. They hadnt bought american in decades anyway. And the Asians never did buy ameircan.
@NeRooooooooo I bought a '73 Plymouth Fury III, it's a big car. I bought it because the frame of the car won't bend or break under massive torque. It was cheap but it's still well-built.
fuck a Toyoda keep your 1996 inspired interior . the e class tranny is discontinued because its no longer with the benz . if your trying to hammer dodge. wow. well in 2011 a 8 speed tranny we'll see whats up in the auto world.
what do you own? i have a buddy with a 10 sec charger that I want you to meet. put your money where your mouth is fuckboy. fuck you fuck your thoughts get back to your digital gf's and wow. no one likes you
I brought a 2005 Lotus Elise from when I worked in England. Not that I care much but you see.... americans somehow dont build quality, styling or handling. Which leaves them with bragging about their god damn quarter mile. Your challengers or whatever arent great because they spent money on research and development and decided a huge engine was the best. The enormous engine is there for you to get all patriotic over and forget the total lack of any finesse, handling or build quality.
@Janusha Don't forget Corvette is an American car, that's a serious ass kicking machine! But I do see what your getting at a lot of the cars are a shell of what they once were.
Thats the problem. They are exactly like they once were. While the rest moved on.
While every other modern performance manufactorer are aiming for more tech, better handling, lighter composite materials, higher quality and millisecond gearing, americans dont do any of that. They instead build ever larger engines and more hp. To disguise the total lack of refinement and quality. When will they ever catch up.
@Janusha Everything you've mentioned that the so called European car makers are improoving actually are American pioneered technologies.
Better handling: Magnetic dampers and ceramic brakes USA
Lighter compostie materials: Carbon Fiber,Carbon Carbon, Silicon carbide invented by the USA
How do the Americans have to catch up exactly? Sure an OHV in a Corvette is far from a Ferrari V8 but that doesnt stop them from having near identical performance figures.
Hahaha yeah alot of tech and materials originated in USA. Carbon fibers were infact refined by the brits and Lotus built their first all carbon car 40 years ago. Mclaren too. USA still hasnt. Americans... always dragging out their Corvette and its speed. Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, infact all the big ones are refreshingly disconcerned with top speeds and instead focus on making the worlds finest cars. Infact they arent going for ever more hp or speed. They are making lighter cars instead.
@Janusha Well it looks like 19 Americans agree with you. Cts-v is a nice car though. Lets be honest, every manufacturer reuses platforms. Aston Martin a shining example. Lotus has been making the Esprit since before we had thumbs. Mercedes G?? believe it or not Mercedes and VW both use various old Chrysler developed platforms as well!!! If it aint broke don't fix it.
Ironically "if it aint broke dont fix it" is one of the big reasons the US car business has fallen hopelessly behind. Everyone else were racing forwards in tech, materials, buildquality, handling, styling, handling and efficency and the american ones werent. Just look at the new CTS-V. did they spend money on research and development to create the perfect engine for it? Hell no. Just went and got a Corvette engine. Tried and tested. If it aint broke dont fix it. Fine.. But where is the new tech.
@Janusha Do you know what materials were used in the construction of the Zr1? Do you understand the patented plasma lining in 5.0 mustang? do you understand how the rent a car v6 in the mustang produces 305 hp at 30 mpg??? did you know those figures have not been matched by anything from Europe or Japan. Do you have any idea how American car companies keep pices so low while maintaining a competitive product? Its called world leading manufacturing tech, but you wouldn't understand any of this.
@Janusha You wouldn't understand any of this. Like how the Eco boost v6 in the Taurus sho beats an Audi a6 v8 in both fuel economy, 0-60, and output. You wouldn't understand how the Saleen s7, Mosler, Zr1, Acr Viper, SSc Ultimate Arrow absolutely destroys everything from Europe and Japan they compete with. The Ls3 is only a couple years old!! . But you don't know shit, so stop whining like a little bitch.

Where is the "Extreme" drifting?
tias88 11 months ago 8
@tias88
For me best US sports car is Corvette.
howitzergun 2 months ago
Who cares what you guys think is a better car,why are you even looking at challenger videos then huh? Im canadian and I love my challenger, I didnt buy it cause im american,i bought it cause its a bad ass mofo ride and i didnt want a tuner rice rocket. U say euro cars a better cause of there stats? Wake up,they get market by a different criteria, whats you say is good and bad differs here. And they cant be that bad cause they still are making them.
GreatWhiteHyype 1 year ago 2
@GreatWhiteHyype how about the fact that those 'rice rockets' created drifting, are more affordable to the average joe, and dont guzzle fuel into its 8 bottomless cylinders.
PS: corrollas suck but they still make those :D
Exgaves 11 months ago
@Exgaves ok i understand ur like of ricers, but those muscle cars actually did invent drifting its called power sliding, its just gas and brake the japanese just decided it would b easier with the e-brake
MegaHateusernames 10 months ago 13
@MegaHateusernames this is from a site called The History Of Drifting and I quote "Drifting began in Japan in 1970 as a racing technique in the All Japan Touring Car Championship and by 1977 was a huge favorite among Japanese race crowds.
Exgaves 10 months ago
@Exgaves
Its such a ridiculous idea that some person "invented" drifting. For fucks sake its about NOT having any grip. Its NOT a viable race technique. Its like american bullshit wrestling. All show and big words. A sport for japs and children.
Janusha 9 months ago
@Janusha Jan has a point... i think pretyt much every culture has their own take on making a car slide is called or meant to be. but japan was the first country to actually take it as a form of motorsport... just sayin.
all my argument is about is saying you shouldnt just stick to "muscles are better because they just are."
i love the power in muscles with a passion. doesnt mean rice rockets suck because "they just do"
Exgaves 9 months ago
@Exgaves
Janusha 9 months ago
@Janusha so what your telling me... is that cornering in a fancy car that has more computer script then parts, which controls every aspect of traction, IS ACTUALLY more impressive then a man driving on a mountain road in complete control to break traction, and where most would lose control still take corners on the side of a cliff.
Exgaves 9 months ago
Whats impressive for the kids and whats actually efficient are wildly different concepts Im sure you would agree.
I used to race myself and personally I see much more skill in the wildest cars ever made, 1980s Group B rally than in F1. The way they throw their cars around bends and use the gas pedal for steering aswell as for acceleration, is to me, much more impressive. However... drifting just for the sakes of seeing a car go sideways is an abomination. A cheap thrash version of racing.
Janusha 9 months ago
@Janusha there are people who see drifting as an art, and those who do it because they think its "hip" and will pull the ladies. (those are the people who usually find themselves wrapped around a poll with a bunch of drunk mates)
do not confuse the two. your argument shouldnt be with drifting, your problem is with those who see it as a cheap show-off act.
Exgaves 9 months ago
@Exgaves
When they crashed or broke down, we dumped them on a frozen lake-
Janusha 9 months ago
-and they disappeared when the ice broke. Point is.. "Drifting" is a result of any car based activity. Reducing car activity down to ONLY one segment is like... Having world championships in opening and closing doors or crashing into trees. Its just a bi-product that is commercialised, branded and sold back to us with a nametag.
Janusha 9 months ago
@Janusha Im done with this argument... you're acting more childish then the hipsters saying "I LIKE DUBSTEP BEFORE IT WENT MAINSTREAM"
you're arguments trail off from an actual argument into a "BACK IN MY DAY" deal.
im done...
Exgaves 9 months ago
@Exgaves
Dude... you are what.. 20? Everything and everyone will seem old when you are just out of being a teenager. You like teenage shit. "drifting" as lame as it is, is aimed at you. You find it cool and think it requires racedriver skills because thats what you are being told. Step back and see the larger picture.
Janusha 9 months ago
@Janusha the larger picture being motor racing, in any way shape or form will always take driving skils beyond that of a casual comuter.
wether your race is with a multimillion dollar F1 car or a crapbox that you love to test in someones paddock on a track with mates, certain skills will always be required. drifting is no different.
wow this has nothing to do with the original argument. anyway. Drifting is not a lesser sport, although most see it as cheezy its simply just more accessable.
Exgaves 9 months ago
@Exgaves
Janusha 9 months ago
As for cars driving themselves... Thats just some silly shit americans say to discredit other, better cars that are more modern.
Here is how its done properly. With all the computers turned off.
/watch?v=UulAT32FkIY
Janusha 9 months ago
@Janusha so you tell me it is more impressive to have a car with more computer script then actual parts practically driving itself is more impressive then a man taking a car to its limits on control where most would crash... no i guess your right. cars controlling themselves are much better..
also if theres a problem with americans wasting money on pointless shit.. thats what americans do. they spent millions on a pen to write in outer space. what did the germans use? a pencil.
Exgaves 9 months ago
@MegaHateusernames Hahaha, so fucking true. I did that shit when I was 16- before drifting was considered a sport. Fucking ricers think they invented the shit. See my car actually has enough power to slide around without even touching the e-brake. 2000 Camaro SS 6 speed- and no turbo or any bullshit needed to smoke any fucking ricer. just over 400hp and naturally aspirated. Cry about gas mileage ricers? I get 30mpg on the highway, and around town- its worth the extra few bucks to drive

@MegaHateusernames hey before you go on rant who invented drifting you wanna do some research cause power sliding and drifting are completly different.
acarmaniac57 7 months ago
@MegaHateusernames Idk, nobody really knows. Drifting is really old and so is power sliding. Nobody cares..
DAXimuss 7 months ago
@MegaHateusernames Your talking out your ass bro, the terminology (drifting) was invented in the mountains of Japan. The definition of power slide is one controlled slide, drifting is a series of linked controlled slides under power. Muscle cars were not the inventor of drifting as we all know Muscle cars are for straight line useless yanks, drifting a 2 plus tone straight line under-steering peace of shit is not my idea of drifting.
D1NZrb26 6 months ago 6
@MegaHateusernames I'm not a ricer, in fact, I own an SRT8 Challenger. But, I'm gonna have to disagree with your definition of drifting. A power slide is just one controlled slide. A drift, is a series of controlled slide, and that was invented in Japan. Thus, power sliding was invented here, drifting in Japan. Everyone's fucking happy, no more ricer hating shit.

I agree that most of their cars are redressed but for some reason Its just a ton of fun... Its a problem child and is a challenge... That camaro v8 was very slow on the top gear track but i would rather have that cause its just so much fun and you have to be that good to be able to get it right.. True if i wanted to win I'd buy something better but its just a nice feeling to step on the throttle and get a non electric response..
vidurc 1 year ago
Sure these things are probably fun. However the Challenger is just a redressed Chrysler C300 which again is a discarded Mercedes base from the mid 90s. the only thing they did to its (lack of) handling and capabilities is to fit that huge engine. Again Im sure they are fun but when people start waving flags and try to pass them off as anything but cheap novelty vehicles then it gets silly. They are cheap for a reason. They arent porsche contenders even if they have twice as large engines.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha True but thats the whole point... Cheap car, big engine, tuning possibilities... If I had the money I'd rather but an amg cls63... Hell any german car but thats not the case as yet...
vidurc 1 year ago
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Holy crap... I didn't know that... They're really cheap here...Good enough to start with...
vidurc 1 year ago
Alot of americans dont know that. Thats ONE of the reasons american cars dont really sell in Europe. That is also the reason why Europeans go for alot more research and development to create new tech to get power and performance out of smaller engines. To keep the taxes low. My Lotus Elise is a brilliant car but comes out much cheaper due to its 1.8 litre engine. I recently drove the Tesla Roadster. Americans find it too expensive but here it escapes all environment-taxes so we find it cheap.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Hmmm that makes sense... Its ironic... 30 MPH in the city but they need a V8 to do it...
vidurc 1 year ago
Well.. to be honest.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Your Lotus Elise has a Toyota engine idiot. Cuz the last time Lotus tried to make an engine i blew the fuck up after 20,000 miles. How about you get your head out of European ass and do some real research. How about you read some non European bias bullshit. You rely on Jeremy Clarksons opinions on American cars... Really? You think this is fact? The reason American cars don't sell in Europe is gas prices, n nobody can afford them w/ taxes. + way too big for your tiny ass roads.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha Yes, Gm is having problems, No American cars are not crap. JD power placed the average reliability rating of European manufacturers beneath Japanese and American companies. Honestly most people are fart'n around in Peugeot, Renault, Seat, and Citroen hatch's. Sry but they are far from being as robust as most American made products. Sadly you guys get the shitty Daewoo's over there, We only get the spark from Korea here. Most Gm vehicles are still made here.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha Secondly, many claimed figures by American manufacturers have been severely underestimated. The stock Mustang 5.0 produces almost 425 hp, the Camaro v6 is at least 15 hp underrated. I have seen very few claims from American manufacturers that were tested to be false by even many European bias xources. From Autocar, Evo and Automobile +. When companies test 0-60/ 1/4 mile and slalom, they make sure conditions are perfect. They are not lies, they are in conditions not easily duplicated.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
American cars dont sell here because of taxes. Emissions, engine size, engine output, car weight... all environmental stuff. American cars with their cast iron frames and huge engines traditionally score badly. Forexample 5 litre Mustang is a cheap way to get a V8 in USA but here ends up costing Porsche money. A Corvette ends up same price as a Lamborghini. At that price its really hard to ignore the squeeky plastic associated with US-products. They were never designed to compete at that level.
Janusha 1 year ago
There is simply no reason to choose american. Sure we pay more for our cars but we expect quality. And Im sorry but aslong as GM builds their shit in Korea, Brazil and Mexico, quality aint gonna happen. Cheapass squeeky plastic for the masses is their goal. And that shit wont fly here. However CLAIM is what americans do best these days. Claiming European Fords as american products, claiming best in the wooorld when really they are on their ass. Claiming fake nurburgring lap times. All hype.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Don't you see? What we mass produce for everybody beats some of the best of Europe. I respect the detail and build quality of German manufacturers, but they are far more guilty of redressing old platforms then American manufacturers, and charge you twice as much. Dodge viper ACR- destroys cars three times it price. Saleen s7, expensive as fuck, but its faster and almost as refined as the Mclaren f1. Mosler, same story. Cts-v once again. We get 80% of the refinement for 1/4 of the price.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha Cast Iron Frame?? its not 1960 anymore. Listen man, a mustang is the equivalent of a Clio in Europe. its the "peoples car" but the middle of the range GT is faster in and straight line and equal around a track to the M3. The chassis is equal. In America, the shier price/ performance ratio makes up for a plastic interior, Yes American cars don't work well in Europe. But I am sick of European road testers saying they are shit, when our average cars outclass everything short of Ferrari's
brentsrx7 1 year ago
SSC sold what.. 10 cars. Dodge Viper is dead and gone. Why.. because it was just too good? The ACR Viper is a full blown racecar and does NOT represent the capabilities of the SRT10. While on the topic. Dont put faith in those highly modified Nurburgring times. Whether its the Corvette, Nissan GTR or ACR. Hell even Cadillac showed up and claimed wooorlds best. All hype. Saleen S7. Out of business for what.. 5 years after selling 20 cars. Mosler built some 30 cars.
Janusha 1 year ago
While americans love to wave flags in honor of their cars, they certainly stop waving those flags when its time to step up and actually buy one. You love to brag about your tuneshops and ultra limited racecar-derived supercar attempts but they dont represent the cars america is actually building. Which today is Korean, mexican, Brazilian blend of mundane vehicles. Quality doesnt come out of third world countries. Unless you like cater-for-all squeeky plastic for the masses. Grats on that.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha You are obviously English. Fucking clueless, but you still have an opinion about everything. You don't even have an automotive industry on your bankrupt rock of a country. No offense, I actually love visiting the UK, but ppl like you..... Have you driven in an American car in America??? Obviously not. Most production is still done here. The shitty cars sold over there are in some cases Daiwoo's. Cuz all you want are cheap little cars. Stop taking shit, when you don't know.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha Actually SSc limited production to 50 cars. More then say.... Pagani with a puny 35 cars sold. Acr is a production road car. Saleen is far from being out of business and you can still order the fourth fastest car on earth today!!. It is being replaced by the world beating 650 hp S5s though. The Cts-v is legitimately registered to have been the fastest production sedan on Nurburgring now beaten only by the Panamera turbo.. Its not rumor, its registered. Mosler/ saleen sold a ton of cars.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
Not in all of history has there ever been an american limited car. Dont you think SSC would build a car for each household in america if they could sell the damn thing? Limited my arse. If you call them and order a car. Do you think they can afford to turn you down by saying, no its limited. Pfff hahaha. Hillarious. Also.. 50 cars. They have sold around 10. Most of them to crazy arabs. Only like.. 3 in USA. Even with a wooooorld record to its name. Meanwhile Bugatti sold 300 at twice the price.
Janusha 1 year ago
How predictable.. attacking my nationality. Too bad americans only display their desperate lack of understanding of anything outside GOS OWN COUNTRY, when they lash out in anger. I went to the Paris Autoshow. 6 of the GMs presented there were korean Daewoo made american by gluing the GM badge on them. How this is deserving of your diehard patriotism, I will never know. The leaders of GM and Chrysler are white collar criminals that cost america half a trillion and you keep defending them. Amazing
Janusha 1 year ago
Saleen sold a ton of cars... But built around 20. The rest were tuned mustangs. Thats what america does. Tune mustangs in stead of making performance cars. Mosler. I knew a guy at Mosler. he told me 37 cars in total. He also told me they use so much Corvette parts that even their marketing department calls it a midengined Corvette. Some of them were brittish built.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha This is coming from a guy who thought that Saleen had been out of business for five years, How predictable. You attack my nationality right back in a flurry of good ol English hypocrisy as usual, and still has the nerve to claim all of this "knowledge". I am not disagreeing that Europe gets shitty Daewoos, we don't care. The cars made in America are largely still made in America. yes, everybody dislikes GM for outsourcing a lot of component manufacturing. U don't know anyone at Mosler.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha I am not directly defending GM. You are making ignorant blanket statements about various companies & subjects in ignorance. I am simply correcting with facts. All your comments have proven is ur poor understanding of the automotive industry as a whole, and how bigotous your judgments are about the United States. U Probably watched some one sided bull shit on the BBC or saw it on Top Gear and felt like proving how detached European media is from reality.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha Of course ppl would rather have the Veyron. It might be an overweight pig that doesn't come near the Mclaren F1 or s7 in focus, but its good for sheik's with a soft ass. If you take average American cars "in America" and compare them to average European cars. The difference is clear. A Renault Clio is made of shittier plastic then Focus. A Peugeot 408 interior is way worse then a Malibu. Mondeo/ Laguna/ Linea< Taurus, Lacross, Regal. Seat< everything. Vauxhall/ Opel is fucking Gm.
brentsrx7 1 year ago

Grats.
Janusha 1 year ago

Either prove me wrong with some facts, or stop commenting on my posts. Fucking pillock.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
Haha I dont know which is worst. That you can still order a Saleen but nobody does or the fact that its been dead and gone for 4-5 years. They tried to launch the yellow Saleen Raptor which they were promoting. Which was finally going to be a proper car instead of a racecar with numberplates. Then Saleen himself was forced to leave the company, they sold off all their car making equipment and instead of going bankrupt, went back to tuning Mustangs. You are american and should know this.
Janusha 1 year ago
I dont give a shit what you drive over there. I studied marketing and social anthropology in Uni. Ive researched the car industry. I became a games designer but my interest is in brand identitty and social trends. Difference between demologies. You might not like what I say but I can promise you Im qualified to say it. My observation is that the american car business is funded entirely on wild claims, hype and thick layers of patriotism. When patriotism no longer sold cars, it all collapsed.
Janusha 1 year ago

Cite your sources fucktard.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
Ok demographics. You got me there. English is my third language. ALso It seems Saleen DID resume production of a few cars after 2005 but like I said, are bankrupt today. These things arent MY opinion. I read about it in american press. They have produced so few cars that I rarely hear about them. How you can deny its a racecar with numberplates is beyond me. They make most of them for racing and they are virtually the same car.
Janusha 1 year ago
You being a car designer.. what have you worked on then? And perhaps you can enlighten me as to why americans dont produce supercars or indeed quality cars at all. Why is there so little focus on design in US cars. Its not just Ferraris and Lambos for the super rich. USA dont produce supercars but they also dont produce GT cars, Sports saloons, Sporty SUVs, Hatchbacks, hothatches, track cars or sportscars. Infact no car at all aiming at quality and technology.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Are you trying to piss me off or do you honestly believe that??? If you honestly believe that, I can pm you a whole shitload of links to various magazine articles, reviews, spec sheets, and even some GM, Ford, and Chrysler tech video's. But at this point i am pretty sure you just want to argue for the sake of arguing. I would strongly recommend you read up on companies R&D, and product line up. Consumer reports/ JD power rank European manufacturers lower then American/Japanese
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha I named just a few very high quality cars earlier in our debate that gravely outclassed their rivals abroad. How about you go back, read them, read up about them in depth, then come back and explain in what way they are crap. Blatantly stating American cars are crap after this debate showcases how poor your comprehension skills are, maybe you need to go back to Uni then.

@Janusha Saleen is not bankrupt...
brentsrx7 1 year ago
MJ Acquisitions recently sent a letter to all certified Saleen and Racecraft dealers stating that customers will have to pay for any repair costs because Saleen Inc. has ceased operations. It clearly states that, “MJ Acquisitions, Inc. is not responsible or obligated to cover warranties and/or any financial liabilities of Saleen, Inc.” The bad news applies to all Saleen products sold prior to February 2, 2009. If instead of arguing, you would ask google, you would find 100 similar articles.
Janusha 1 year ago

Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Ok so i have an 69 Oldsmobile cutlass i inherited from my dad he bought it new only 120,000 miles on it not done a single thing on it and runs perfect ok it may not be good around turns but put it on a straight away and it'll leave your ass in the dust no matter it facing a lambo Ferrari. We Americans could care less about look but more about power so screw off and buy a real car.
muddypowerwagon 1 year ago
Speed is cheap. Infact racecars have done largely the same speeds since the 60s. They did 600 mph at Bonneville with ancient technology. Whats changed since then is handling, buildquality, safety and styling. All of which are areas where american cars have yeeaars for catching up to do. American cars somehow chose not to compete in those brackets. Which leaves them bragging about quarter miles and skidpads.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Are you stupid in the 60s they were doin what toppin 250 300mph now you can get our cars to top like 500 ok your car may be able to handle better but i dont give a flyin rats ass cause when we get on a straight as i said before were gone and your in the dust.

It is remarkably sound deadened, has a full excellent stereo, air con, very plush leather seats, leather dash/ beautiful gauges. Honestly its much nicer then say a CCR or an Enzo by far + its noticeably faster and easier to maintain. But once again. You don't know shit. On another note, I can't believe he did that in an automatic!! Impressive. I wished they did the Charger the same instead of that four door they came up with.....

First of all, its a 300C, not C300... Second, nobody seems to agree with you, as the thumbs down indicate. Finally, prove to me how the 300C started out as a Mercedes.
RoadRageRocker 2 years ago
This is based on the Chrysler 300C which is based on the rear-wheel drive Chrysler LX platform which is derived from the discontinued W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class of 1996.
US car manufactorers wont make a new car when they can redress old cheap stuff. Which is why the american car business has declined and fallen decades behind. Ofcourse this coment will be red marked aswell because the american patriotism forbids anyone to dislike anything american. Even tho all americans soon drive Toyotas.

i wouldn't say my audi a8 is shit, but the repairs are too complicated and too expensive, the guys from the garag are overwhelmed .....never again this car
this affects also mercedes and bmw
morello64 1 year ago

Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha u only say this bc ur a very arrogant person who was probably raised into thinking that all American cars are bad and very far behind ill let u in on a secret American car companies have "woken up" and are building better cars than ever before the reason that they had to make compromises in the past was due to the bills the businesses had to pay to their unwanted UNION WORKERS who don't do shit right and complain when they get caught making a mistake. a lot of people like these cars :)
nasterangel 1 year ago
Blame the unions, greedy dealers, high wages, whatever you want to blame the fact remains. If USA had been building proper cars, they would be in the shit they have been in. USA and american car companies are broke today. But they werent always broke. They used to have more money than they knew what to do with and they still didnt produce quality vehicles. American cars have always been sold on patriotism. Never quality. Well.. today patriotism just isnt enough.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha ok tell that to the people who've bought and love theses cars .....i guarantee that you will not be able to persuade them otherwise ;) and i will never buy a foreign car for as long as i live, i know others will disagree with me but i will not be persuaded otherwise.....good day sir...
nasterangel 1 year ago
I know you cant tell patriotic americans their squeeky plastic GM is crap. Its like telling the pope there is no god. There is after all no end to how american cars are glorified. They have successfully linked cars to THE AMERICAN DREEAM, Liberty freedom and all that is good about america for decades. There is no reason for US-car builders to make quality when they can simply sprinkle their steel with patriotism and get away with shameless profiteering for decades. No wonder their business died.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha I couldn't have said it better. This is exactly my opinion. Having a big car equals living the American Dream. When it comes to patriotism, Americans aren't able to think straight anymore. The indoctrination starts very early in school, linking patriotism to all sorts of economical and political desires.
NeRooooooooo 1 year ago
Basically... In america big was always better. Until crisis hit, then they wanted smaller cars, USA didnt build any so today the top 10 most popular cars in america. 6 top are asian, 2 next are european fords and the next 2 are pickups. STILL americans refuse to build smaller cars. And ofcourse.. for saying this, we all hate america, liberty, freedom and all that crap too. They are too arrogant to see that we dont buy their cars because they simply arent good enough.

But I do see what your getting at a lot of the cars are a shell of what they once were.
evxdaddy 1 year ago
Thats the problem. They are exactly like they once were. While the rest moved on.
While every other modern performance manufactorer are aiming for more tech, better handling, lighter composite materials, higher quality and millisecond gearing, americans dont do any of that. They instead build ever larger engines and more hp. To disguise the total lack of refinement and quality. When will they ever catch up.
Janusha 1 year ago
DODGE CHALLENGER IS SWEET!!

USA #1
youlance29 1 year ago
@Janusha Everything you've mentioned that the so called European car makers are improoving actually are American pioneered technologies.
Better handling: Magnetic dampers and ceramic brakes USA
Lighter compostie materials: Carbon Fiber,Carbon Carbon, Silicon carbide invented by the USA
How do the Americans have to catch up exactly? Sure an OHV in a Corvette is far from a Ferrari V8 but that doesnt stop them from having near identical performance figures.
JanushaISAFAGGOT 1 year ago
Hahaha yeah alot of tech and materials originated in USA. Carbon fibers were infact refined by the brits and Lotus built their first all carbon car 40 years ago. Mclaren too. USA still hasnt. Americans... always dragging out their Corvette and its speed. Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, infact all the big ones are refreshingly disconcerned with top speeds and instead focus on making the worlds finest cars. Infact they arent going for ever more hp or speed. They are making lighter cars instead.

youlance29 1 year ago
@Janusha Well it looks like 19 Americans agree with you. Cts-v is a nice car though. Lets be honest, every manufacturer reuses platforms. Aston Martin a shining example. Lotus has been making the Esprit since before we had thumbs. Mercedes G?? believe it or not Mercedes and VW both use various old Chrysler developed platforms as well!!! If it aint broke don't fix it.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
Ironically "if it aint broke dont fix it" is one of the big reasons the US car business has fallen hopelessly behind. Everyone else were racing forwards in tech, materials, buildquality, handling, styling, handling and efficency and the american ones werent. Just look at the new CTS-V. did they spend money on research and development to create the perfect engine for it? Hell no. Just went and got a Corvette engine. Tried and tested. If it aint broke dont fix it. Fine.. But where is the new tech.
Janusha 1 year ago
@Janusha Do you know what materials were used in the construction of the Zr1? Do you understand the patented plasma lining in 5.0 mustang? do you understand how the rent a car v6 in the mustang produces 305 hp at 30 mpg??? did you know those figures have not been matched by anything from Europe or Japan. Do you have any idea how American car companies keep pices so low while maintaining a competitive product? Its called world leading manufacturing tech, but you wouldn't understand any of this.
brentsrx7 1 year ago
@Janusha You wouldn't understand any of this. Like how the Eco boost v6 in the Taurus sho beats an Audi a6 v8 in both fuel economy, 0-60, and output. You wouldn't understand how the Saleen s7, Mosler, Zr1, Acr Viper, SSc Ultimate Arrow absolutely destroys everything from Europe and Japan they compete with. The Ls3 is only a couple years old!! . But you don't know shit, so stop whining like a little bitch.
