BTW, I knew a man, long since deceased, that rode on the Graf Zeppelin once. He said the Germans added some kind of stinky substance to otherwise-odorless hydrogen as a safety measure to detect leaks, like we do to natural gas. He claimed he could smell hydrogen all over the ship and couldn't wait to get off of it.
@1276epr: it is not the Munich Border Guard, it is the German Border Guard ( in german Bundesgrenzschutz). And it is the orchestra of the Munich unit of the German Border Guard.
Bassetenator reminded me of the days when I was a bandsman. When we played marches I always got the treble clef baritone part and played that. It was always MUCH better. Oh, I played the saxophone (mostly tenor) and clarinet

I only discovered Carl Teike a month or two ago and I'm VERY glad I found him and his music.......He's one of the best composers, right up there with Karl King, E. E. Bagley, Kenneth Alford and John P. Sousa. Bravo.
Und es gibt auch eigentlich nichts zu meckern, aber meiner Meinung nach gehören Saxophone einfach nicht zur Marschmusik, für mich sind es Jazz- bzw. Tanzmusik Instrumente, aber für Marschmusik kann man sie nicht gebrauchen.
Adolphe Sax hat das Ding zwar für Symphonieorchester konstruiert. Eingesetzt wurde es allerdings zunächst in Militärorchestern, vor allem in Frankreich. Daher paßt es schon.

Das sehe ich auch so. Hier geht es noch, aber besonders grauslig wirds, wenn die Saxophone zusammen mit den Tenorhörnern solistisch spielen.
