This was a praise dance using a pole as a prop. He didn't do anything to illicit perverse thoughts or feelings. It was actually moving. B/c of the words of this song, the context of the dance can have many meanings. Well, I dig the "art" of pole dancing. Its a hard and intense form of dance and workout. It takes tons of upperbody strength Its beginning to get recognition all over the word. However, I have to say that because of the symbolism of the "pole" it isnt church appropriate. As Christians, you never want to do anything that could make another person fall. Just like typical church folk I judged before I even watched it. Just the challenging physicality of it all, made me appreciate it. It was both artistic and consistent with the song. Figured, I'd respond since I'm the guy in the video. 1st off, let me apologize to anyone who finds my dance offensive. 2nd, I am a very spiritual person but I enjoy pole fitness. But I don't feel compelled to constantly push sex because I pole dance. I do express sexuality on occassion but who doesn't? I've taken a vow of celibacy and exercise is one way I release tension and stress. 3rd, God is the head of my life and I'm not ashamed to praise Him in public. Thank you and bless you all :)

Some people are too "spiritual" for their own good. Praise dancing initially was not permitted in the church but now it is praised. There was nothing sexual or anything wrong with the way this man danced to this song. If people paid more attention to a dying world and things that outright profane the word of God; versus jujdging an expression of worship the world would be a much better place. ok, this is ridiculous. everyone who is supporting this guy like nothing is wrong really needs to do a spiritual evaluation. Pole dancing was something started in a STRIP CLUB, no matter if clothes were on or off. you can't take a sexually provocative device of the world and bring it to the Kingdom and justify it by saying "Oh, well he kept his clothes on" & "That's his way of expression". come on ppl, He's dancing...on a pole..that makes it POLE DANCING!!!!!

I think this was an expressive dance rejoicing in God. I don't see anything wrong with spinning around on a pole - infact it's quite child like in a way - remember running so fast your legs were ahead of you? What about spinning around until you fell to the ground? None of the dancing in this video was performed in a sexual/sensual manner, there was not innuendo or anything offensive. I don't know exactly at what age that we loose our innocence and become "too cool" to play on jungle gyms, climb trees, and swing on poles and everything becomes hidden innuendos and double meanings but we loose it. I feel like people are trying to punish me because I found mine again. It's really sad but I will keep pressing on. Coming straight from the horse's mouth (I am the guy in the video), I have a pole in my dining room because that is really the only place I have for it :-P Since I live alone, I got rid of the dining room table and made room for fitness equipment to make a home gym because I wasn't motivated to go out to a gym consistently.

Thank you for what you said about the guy pole dancing to gospel music. I am he, and I am constantly criticized for what I do left and right. There are those who can't accept that all pole dancers intensions aren't to push sex. It means a lot to me that a man of the cloth is able to recognize my worship for what it truly is and I'm truly humbled by your comments. Every form of worship is not accepted by God and there are prayers that do not reach him because they fall on deaf ears depending on who it is coming from and their intentions. People its really time to stop flirting with sin and trying to dress it up! Where are those who will stand for Christ and be positioned to see sin and darkness for what it is? There is a big difference between what I do and someone who would have blatant intentions to elicit feelings of lust in other individuals in a strip club for profit to a gospel song. My praise and worship is always real and sincere from the heart. It is a testimony of my life's journeys and struggles, but it almost feels as if I'm being punished because I choose not to conform to society's perception that one must and can only push sexuality if they choose to pole dance.

Why not just worship without the pole. We all know what it symbolizes whether you are a stripper or not! This is perverse and God is not pleased with it. The pole doesn't symbolize anything to me. It is just an inanimate object to me. It is merely a tool for exercise, fun, and creative expression. My intentions are not to arouse anyone or turn anyone on. In fact, I don't even like sex. I have been celibate for 5 years. I worship on and off the pole. I worship at church, at work, on the bus, in the shower, in the grocery store, where ever I choose to when I want to acknowledge my creator and savior and give thanks.

I have no issue about pole dancing with God standing in the room. In fact, when I worship I always feel him very close to me. I pole danced for my mom, who is the mother of her church, and she thought it was beautiful. I didn't push sexuality when I pole danced for my mom and I don't push sexuality when I pole dance for my heavenly parent either. Sexuality is the furthest thing from my mind at the time. But I am not above reproach. If God told me this was indecent I would stop immediately.
