strange this song is, i heard it on the radio almost a year ago in my 4x6 cell block at CPRI and all i had was a crappy little clock radio from the 80s, the first time i heard it i hated it, but then i heard it again and though hey this aint half bad, then i began to love it, this song grows on you, this song was the only reason i got through!

Well, I interpret it as a commentary on the idea of how imagery can be alluring, and that things often have a dark underbelly despite how they appear - that good appearances can lead to a worse experience than expected.

example: a vampire seems neat because it is near indestructible and immortal, but it has to murder and eat people to exist and have its powers.

I think there is plenty of other stuff in there, but I consider what I wrote above as one core concept.
