slough was cool, friday nights, even if it did stop at 3am and the tall black bouncer had my gear away a few times, good nights, top sound system and a even better lightshow.
Hello John just reconised your face in the video @ Slough Centre... Do you remember us Colin & Gail.. If so please reply.. would love to hear rom you .....
Im sure that is Slough Centre it made me take a second look straight away. Mad nights in there! Wasnt there always a guy in a top hat hanging around outside watching the que?
@Slight22wi Definitely the Slough Centre, check the windows 1.34. I remember nipping out to get something from the car and seeing the steam/heat/sweat/condensation coming out of the chimneys as I walked back. Mental, mental, transcendental! Oi, Oi Saveloy! Aye, aye Chicken Pie! Stunning to think we blew the effing doors off! England 88/9 = best time to be alive, everyone jacked their jobs in to party heeeh!
@BeanyBeanyBeanster Thanks!! I remember one night in paticular when they made a little tunnel out of what looked like white sheets that led from the front door into the main arena. Was commin up just as I walked into the place. Just stood there and smiled looking at everyone going mental. Respect to you Beany and all the others who made this THE time of my life. Sad it all had to stop but Im chuffed to have been part of it!! I guess I should be happy there are no pics of me gurnin my face off!
@Slight22wi Hahaha! I had to check too. Respect right back mate.
Slough gets a lot a stick - that shot of Brunel Bus Station at start of 'The Office' still transports me back to the grim days of catching the bus to school - but I had a lot of good times there. Whoever booked Danny Rampling to DJ at the Slough Festival (89/90?) was a genius.
We'd go to straight to Queens Nightclub in Colnbrook after Raving in 89/90 to carry on with Andy Weatherall DJing quite often. Good, but hazy, memories!
@ChaosandGaming Don't believe the hype...lots of people cashing in on collective nostalgia. I was going/doing a lot of the raves around Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham...going to clubs like Rage, Troll, Zap etc...it was great fun, but it's the past and it gets me down that people of a certain age (including myself!) go on and on about it...it makes the future depressing. Go out and make it happen that's what it was/always should be about.
@discoverydavid Well said my friend. I try to resist waxing nostagically for the "good ole days". As I get older, it gets harder and harder but I keep trying to remind myself that what made days past so special was that I was moving forward in the moment. To young folks everywhere, I beg you, please think outside the box and shine in your own way. This is YOUR time now.
Ordered it off of Amazon, along with the Boys Own Fanzines album, used to have a few issues, but I think my old dear chucked em out years ago, when I moved out, along with a few copies of Fiesta & Razzle. LOL
@SilverShamrock71 I spent my Jazzfunk/soulboy days in The Crown Marlow and Windsor Safari park disco early 80's and then late 80's in Raves in Slough Center and warehouses around M25.

Were any of these taken at Slough Center?
I recognize quite a few faces who would have been in the Crown in Marlow and at Slough Center, '88 '89.
Thanks for posting this "TRIP" down memory lane....
