  • I want this video on my 6124 classic unit.

  • do you have any video of the flaps deploying? That's a neat video and a badass model, by the way.

  • its cool and all, just make it a little bigger so I can ride in it

  • @rwrught142 - Hey man - beautiful work no doubt, and I am ecstatic to see real aeromodelling still lives!!!

Question - did the F4U have mechanised wing fold or completely manual like a Bearcat??

...Balsa flies better as does ply and composites!!

  • @tomview1 They were hydraulic mechanisms that folded the Corsair wings.

  • friend, your plane is beautiful, I am Brazilian and would like to build a model of this, I can send the entire plant facility, please! my e-mail is: aquariumbrasil@bol.com.br

  • if they moved a little faster, the plane could flap it's wings and fly away!!! lol jk, that's really cool, lot of time, patience and skill goes into making something like this.

  • what was the build time on this?

  • is a very slow ornithopter ...

  • @MIGUEL2005LIMA

Yeah, but you gotta admit it;s a cool one!

  • @rwright142 of course. i admit this.

  • hello is possible search the folding wings system or instruccion thanks

  • Just one word : WOW !!!!!

  • Nice! Do you have details on how to build that mechanism? Looks great.

  • I built an F4U on a much smaller scale (Guillow Giant Scale model) and it was a Build n Show Anyways thing is that when i tried to make the folding wing mechanism it kept getting jammed and I had to bend tons of wire. and even still I screwed it up!!!! so this guy is obviously very talented.

  • fantastic......one I can fly mt RTF one properly I'll come find you!

  • You are a very sick individual..... That was awesome!!!!!!!

  • Very well done! Is there a locking mechanism to hold the wings in the extended position? I have seen a video of the Corsair where the locking pins deployed automatically, but had to be themselves manually locked in place by the pilot from inside the cockpit. I would suspect having the wings fold while airborne would have an adverse effect on the flight characteristics. Heh Heh

  • yea they automatically lock as soon as the wing was in postion

  • nice

  • nice job it takes a lot of passion to build something like that

  • @purplebear5321 a lot of money too lol

  • LOL a lot of money? Define a lot. Kits can be bought very reasonably and a lot of guys cut their own. The guys who fly jets spend a lot on their engines so price is relative. This hobby, like most, cost money and some can afford it and some can't.

  • @rwright142 even if you built something like this on the cheap, you'd be over $1000 into it by the time it's done. probably more than that. that's what I mean by a lot of money. I'm in the hobby as well and am familiar with building costs. I just don't have anything this fancy because I can't afford it lol

  • @ddrlankyj No sure what it would be total so you may be right. Some of the engines can be several hundred and if you have retracts that can add up. But to get the folding wings you can search Oregon Scale Aviation and you'll find they are very reasonable (less than $60). I would never build something like this and fly it because I'd be afraid I'd crash it LOL I don't fly anymore but do enjoy building.

  • Put some monocote on that baby and fly it... nice job.

  • What Corsair is this? A Top Flite??

  • It's a Brian Taylor 82" (1/6 scale).

  • Thats awesome!
