Rip up the hand brake and perform a perfect 180, parallel parking in front of and facing the guy with the broken down car.
I'd then get out of my car and beat the guy with the bone left over from the leg of lamb I was eating whilst driving.
I'd return to my vehicle and my wife would be so impressed by my manliness that she would be compelled to blow me right there on the spot, kids in the back and all.
When they ask what's happening, I'll say "Mommy is playing find the sausage, wanna play?"

It is not about the cars or ABS and stuff. It is about human reflexes, guys . Only race drivers good avoid this. If he was going faster, he could avoid him, but he would lose control of the car....

Also, something with a bit of handling, maybe a WRX?
So in other words, if Jim was doing 160-200kmph around that corner in a WRX with ABS, his family would still be in tact.
Although, they may not have had an accident, the family would eventually have been broken up. Since Jim acquired his WRX, he didn't need his wife anymore, he was picking up chicks left right and center.

Thats the correct side on the left because its in Sydney, Australia if you look bottom left at start of the clip. Plus the clip was targeted at Ireland and being in the UK they drive on the left too.

on the speedometer it showed his speed as 120km/h so when he crashed into the pole then he would have been going 20km/h as the narrator said if he had kept it to 100km/h he would have stopped there so they would all (even the wife) have survived

The coefficient of fiction and pull or inertia are not liner. As speed increases, the accelerative forces do exponentially.

What if does not make a point. For instance, if the truck had pulled off the road, or if the car had abs, or the driver used threshold braking, the accident would not have happened. Or if the truck was 20 feet back, the driver would have hit him even if he was below the limit. Poor commercial.
