It is a combination of a lot of things...

the player himself..

what amp you put it thru

sense of how to use it to get "good tone"

I have heard many demo's of this pedal and I don't know what it is but it does sound different than mine... But everybody plays different too.

If i played thru EVH's setup, I'd bet that I wouldn't sound like him,,,thats for sure.

@Luckums135 you have good gear..it should sound fine thru that peavey classic 50, that is an awesome amp and i would say it would be well suited to the pinnacle...maybe there is something wrong with the pedal...i don't know...why don't you contact Brian wampler? ask him? You're guitar is a real great guitar as well....I'm puzzled?

i never intend to play just like randy rhodes, what would i be trying to prove by doing so, the world has too many RR clones now, don't need one more. i just take and learn from him, and try to make it my own...can't blame me for that.

you should try (or have tried^^) the 18volt mod for the emgs..makes them much more "dynamic" and organic, like a good passive pickup yet still keeping their own emg-clarity-characteristic to them

They are not for me, thats what i found out the hard way...maybe with the right setup. i'd prefer the stock gibson pups. Buy hey tey can't be that bad eh, doesn't zakk wylde use them? haha! you'd probably love them!

EMG are really good pick-ups bro most the people tht complain about them have used passives for to long and its something new to them so they rag on EMG's there really good pickups high output and they clean up nice for cleans and stuff and there really good for cutting thru the mix

Emgs are fantastic pickups...I agree. Nothing else retains clearity like that under high gain. I definitely like other pickups too, but I cant stop plaing my guitars with EMGs in them right now.

Great playing Hobbsie! Your Zakk guitar sounds great on the Randy riffs.  That blend og pedals is killer. That TSL 100 clean channel isn't definately isn't in Kansas anymore.
