I use my Blackberry Hotspot for this, and for any kind of tethering, it uses the data from the phone your using it to tether with. So if you don't have an unlimited data plan, be careful or you'll go over and get a huge bill So just keep an eye on your data usage!

It depends on the nokia phone. Some nokia phones wont do it especially if they are touch screen or run android. My phone is a Nokia 2730 Classic and it works and my Dad's is a Nokia 6700 Classic and that works too. It also depends on the iPod that you're using I'm 100% sure that iPod touch 4th gen will work but I'm not 100% sure about anything below that.

@slickess What you need to do if you have all these requirements is you need to pair your iPod touch with your phone through the bluetooth and allow it to use internet on your phone. I use it all the time because my phone has a really bad browser on it and it basically gives me full internet access to absolutely anything I want on 3G as long as I stay within my data plan.

Well if u put it that way it's not worth it. First your phone acts like a wireless hotfoot so you need to be in range. You would have to take your phone with you. What's the point. Just use your phone.
