  • Yea, I caught a 5 foot 35lb steelhead yesterday too! ! ! !

  • @ronphlf i saw you snagging

  • @MapleRiverFlyFishing Nobody cares what you think, Roadsnake still remains the man after your post.

  • I'm just here for the jammin' reggae music, mon.

  • 4 pound fish + 8 pounds of exaggeration = 12 pounds =)

  • @suckerspawn1 that's similar to what your mama said

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE my mama said that stache is the only thing close to 33" in the video...just sayin'

  • how many comments have to tell you folk to get back to your trailers.

  • @dwetick 24" 5-6 lb fish might be average for erie tribs but 33" is well above and a 38" 22 lb erie steelheaed is something you'll never ever come even close too but i have one hanging on my wall - piss off hater

  • WOW, thats all I can say, and not in a good way, for starters catching 12 steel head in a day is pathetic! and thats no 12lb fish, NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! again WOW

  • @slushie46 first of all anyone that watches my videos knows i don't normally brag but my best day was close to 50 steelhead and the fish in this video is 33" WOW

  • @slushie46 ever fish lake erie tribs?

  • Not 11 lbs. Closer to 7, maybe 8.

You eastern guys don't have a clue what big steelhead are.

  • @SteelheadCrusher oh boy - another arm chair expert fisherman

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE I can guarantee that I've caught more steelhead than you. Ever caught a 24 pound steelhead before? Didn't think so. How about a 20 pounder? No?

  • @SteelheadCrusher son you just don't know what your talking about. and yes i have a 22lb steelhead on my wall.

i really don't want to argue with you - your the man you win you know it all ,now go away

  • @SteelheadCrusher LISTEN YOU think this guy hasnt caught 20lb plus salmon and steelhead??? your ignorant. your not a true fisherman.. its assholes like you Who take all the fun out of a trip..This guy is a big guy..usually if someone is 6 foot 2 or 6 foot 4 it makes fish look alot smaller in comparison to his body.. A big guy makes a big fish look average. this fish would look its size if a teen was holding it. .its over 10 lbs like all 3 of them say.. and yah your a prick who sucks the fun out

  • hey great vids, dont listen to those negative people, hey what type of rods do you guys use for steelhead

  • @flyfisher4life1 thanks man - we use 10 ft spinning rods ,shakespear and gander mnt specials

  • hi,Bill

very nice video i'm subscriebe it to your web can you please tell me which river you cache the 33'' monster .

    e-mail to me thanks CLAUDIU

  • hi,Bill

very nice video i'm subscriebe it to your web can you please tell me which river you cache the 33'' monster .

    e-mail to me thanks CLAUDIU

  • I put a picture of me holding a 12 pound bluecat side by side on screen to this guy holding this fish to compare fish size, hand width on the fish etc and it looksthe same size as my 12 pound blue cat which was weighed. So the folks arguing it's 7 or 8 pounds are wrong. For a sec I thought it was 7 or 8 till I compared pics closely.

  • @angler685 thanks

  • oh my god, that is not 12 pounds, 7 maybe but not 12. i got a 33" steel out of manistee river in 2010, full of eggs and it only weighed 8 pounds.

  • @djloveskimmy around here a 30" is roughly 10lbs - i doubt you ever caught one over 20"

  • @djloveskimmy I caught a male steelhead in MI in 2009 that was 32 inches and eleven pounds

  • lol that fish is not 12 pounds... trust me. You guys act like you're narrating some sick ass show, when in reality, you're a bunch of hicks who spin fish with centrepin floats... "You see how the water is deeper towards the bank, nice little run, did you get 'em jumpin'? " I'm embarrassed for you dudes. cut the chatter, show your fish, move on. You're fishing w. bait for fuck sake.

  • @jtberez I'm embarrassed for you dudes./you're a bunch of hicks who spin fish .You guys act like you're narrating some sick ass show. embarrasses for us - thanks but no thanks

  • @jtberez hey, just wanted to ask you to keep your pretentious crap to yourself when it comes to fishing. There is nothing wrong with any legal form of catching steelhead. They are a challenge to catch not matter what. Bill and Mike are probably ten times better at catching steelhead than you will ever be, and that's why you feel it necessary to spew your garbage at them.

  • @jtberez I BET UR ONE OF THOSE DUMBASSES WHO SPENT ALOT OF MONEY (THAT YOU DONT HAVE) ON GEAR AND DONT CATCH SHIT, SO STOP BEING A SMARTASS AND TALKIN SHIT, WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE PEOPLE YOU LITTLE SHIT!!!

  • Aren't you one of the guys I punched in the face for snagging fish with a treble hook?

  • @sweatybowfin thats funny - i really don't remember getting punched in the face by some homo.

make sure you try next time you see me

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE Hey I think I'd seen you before at Chagrin River Park in Mentor, OH. I'm talking about the Mike dude

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE Hey I think I'd seen you before at Chagrin River Park in Mentor, OH. I'm talking about the Mike dude.

  • haha, if you think that 32 inches is a big steelhead, then you're mistaken on two counts. That's not big, and it's only a lake run rainbow.

  • @forced93 how wrong you are -its a strain of steelhead transplanted from the west coast dummy

  • @forced93 those are steelhead. not very big but they are little manistee river fish which is where i live. what is a lake or an ocean run rainbow? STEELHEAD DUMBASS. dont get me wrong these guys are total goof balls and the fish they land is only a six pounder.but what do you expect they are from ohio!

  • @fishslayer4 man, your stupider than the other dummy

  • @forced93 dude, it was clearly a steelhead

  • It doesnt seem like these break water when u hook into them. When i fish in the rivers around my town like the american river they fucking launch out of the water thats how you know you have a steelhead right off the bat

  • @ItsBrainLock depends on the river

  • I hooked a 32 incher last week. Sure was a nice fish (:

  • where was this?

  • @Saugeendrifter in western newyork

  • DID YOU EVER FISH WALNUT CREEK IN ERIE PA?

  • @baseballllller97 i never tried there

  • Great fish, dont get me wrong; but man.......could you have held, plopped, dropped scraped, and let that fish lay there longer (while you did your little narrative). A 33" fish, if wild, could pass on more of that good mojo. Fare eastern erie tribs do have wild fish, you know.

  • time to move on and challenge yourself... start swinging wet flies.

  • @jtberez that's ok ,I'm challenged enough already

  • those are not steelhead, steelhead go to the ocean not lake eerie

    still a good time though

  • @MrSteelheadfisherman they planted west coast steelhead and salmon in the great lakes they took pure salmon and steelhead strains fall and summer run. so what are the salmon in the great lakes if they dont live in the ocean ? they are still salmon. if you took a wolf from canada and transplanted it in michigan thats not a wolf ? the greatlakes are inland seas but fresh water.

  • those are not steelhead, steelhead go to the ocean not lake eerie

  • @MrSteelheadfisherman your a fucking idiot. these are steelhead moron

  • My guess is your at the Cattaragus creek down by the Rez........

  • do the steelhead have teeth. my rig is 8 pound test line with 6 pound flourcarbon 4 feet below my swivel. do u get your bait from bait shops?

  • @Ryan69Taraska steelhead have small teeth but nothing to cut your line.

we get our own eggs and tie our own

  • thats little ass fish come to erie if you a real fish jack

  • not 12 pounds!

  • @wallyeye12 it was easily over 10

  • what creeek are you fishing

  • @baseballllller97 a creek in western newyork

  • Salmon egg under a pike bung? Marvellous skills, lol!

A beautiful, heroic fish treated with such utter disrespect while you boast profusely! Pretty disgusting really!

  • @door2yourheart beautiful fish yes but heroic ???? are you some kind of moron ?

  • roadsnake i see u do lotta fishing on spinning reels have u ever tried float fishing with centerpin reels if u havent give it a shot u might like it. I Started pinning 2 years back and never looked back.

  • that steelhead looks like 8+ at most 10..

    not 12..

  • @hur1214 the fish is whatever i say it is

  • @hur1214 k smart ass u didnt catch it he was there i'm sure he knows what hes talkin about

  • dude that isjust a baby!!! 8lbs max!!

  • awesome video man my biggest was a 32" wild hen on the Smith river here in northern california, mine was a downrunner though not as clean and bulky as this one. if you dont mind me askin how long of a rod do you use for float fishin?

  • THANKS MAN , i use a 11 1/2 ' rod

  • the fish is big, no real need to reduce fish to numbers in my opinion, beautiful.

  • dig your guyses videos, 'man'

  • music 2 my ears the sound a big fish pulling

    DRAG

  • 33 is prob 12-16 here in Indiana,a dam fine fish. Having a great fall run in Mi/In, best in years. btw These fish r not even native 2 the area so eating them is proactive..ha!

  • I live near the clearwater river in idaho the big- B,s are 33 in, to 41 in, some time you lucky and get a 25lb 44in steelhead love northwest for it steelhead fishing the best,

  • that steely is close to 7.25 Lbs to 8.00lbs those fish are just babys

  • i caught enough steelhead over the years to know a 33" fish is over 10lbs but your entitled to your opinion

  • @ib6ub9yeah That is a 12LB plus! Don't be stupid.

  • baitslinger fish killers. Catch and release.

  • and if you fish for food

  • watch all of his other vids all he does is keep maybe one trip of trout a year and he keeps walleye and perch he's more catch and release than anyone i know so you're saying he isn't entitled to keep some fish you lying hipocrite

  • save the wild steelhead look at 4:28-4:40 you guys are something

  • don't worry that fish didn't go to waste -steelhead are delicious smoked .we only keep a few and release hundreds

this stream is stocked with over 90,000 steelhead a year not to mention thousands of wild fish

  • 4:28-4:40 is that a wild steelhead if so what the fu?? man every one say it with me (save the wild steelhead)

  • what about the spotted owl ,sea otter and global warming ?

  • lost a huge buck yesterday, bent my hook straight.

  • great video! thank you guys! 2 questions: what trib is this? and do you ever keep/eat catfish?

    thanks!!

  • we release all the catfish - the catt

  • I love fly fishers. cause they dont catch shit so there is more fish 4 me

  • haha yeah right. Ill out do you 5-1 with flies any day.

  • ill out fish you 10-1 with flys

  • dude-most guys average at least 10 steelhead a day - your arms got to be sore after a 100 fish day

  • @dennyk275 thats so funny isnt going to happen

  • @dennyk275 i dont think you would outfish anyone 10 to 1 with flys.. the only thing you do with flys is Floss them into fishes heads and mouths while you can see them in 1 foot of water on there beds in the falls... You fly fisherman are all so pompus yet i bet you cant catch fish on a bait rod.

  • look at 4:10, that fish was just about dead. did you release it? i bet the water was really warm. its eyes were no longer looking down like steelhead always will do, even when laying on their side. if the eye is not looking down, the fish is lacking oxygen, and is to far gone to release. have to deal with that constantly with skamanias here. a steelhead should not lay still, unless it was not almost dead, about a 8 or 9lb fish from what i see, not comparing it to you. to decieving camparing person

  • the water temp was actually on the cool side for late september -the fish were running this stream for at least 3 weeks but we usually wait till the beginning of october or near there to start fishing because of the high mortality rate -see a lot of laying dead on the bottom that didn't recover in the early season.

my brother kept the fish to smoke -it was bleeding even though it was hooked in the mouth.

  • as for the size of the fish it was over 32 "

most steelheadin the 33" range around here weight between 11-13 lbs

  • it is looking down...kinda

  • instead of actually fly fishing just float a fly. feels good to catch a fish off something you tied.

  • we catch a lot of trout and salmon on marabou jigs we tie ourselves -almost the same thing

  • Eggs man, seriously? Come on, get the fly rods and spey flies out!!!!!!!

  • i'll stick with the spinning gear -most of the fly guys round here are anal -don't want to turn into something like that

  • Whata yeah mean anal? Fly fishing rules man, your missin' out. Leave the bait for the kids! lol.

  • not flyfishing itself -just a lot of the guys that practice the sport around here - they foul hook a lot more fish than fair caught and most act like they own the streams.

i used to be pretty handy with a fly rod myself -mainly dry flies

  • Ahh okay I see now, foul-hooking is lame. A lot of guys use fly rods and reels but gear fish to get on the fly only waters as well, which is annoying. Nice fish though for sure! Love steelheading!

  • and you have to watch out whenever walking past them :)

  • okay but i bet us steelheaders with eggs get about twice as much then u spey and fly steelheaders each year.. even tho i fly in the spring i noodle more :)

  • i love egg fishing.

  • more like 8 or 9 lbs

  • all the fish look smaller when i hold them -i should bring along an average size human to hold my fish in the videos.

    fish was over 32" long

  • nice check mine out

  • have you ever used steelhead eggs for fishing?

  • i have but mostly salmon and a few brown trout eggs.i like to let the steelhead go except of a batch to smoke once in a blue moon

  • ahh r they any good for fishing when you used them?

  • there real good -a lot of guys do real good using steelhead skein -stuffs to messy for me

  • yeah thats what i got out of mine but i loosend up the skein and got single eggs out of it... it is to messy.
