  • I'm picking up a 71 cutlass fastback next month and I'm swapping in a 455! I can't wait!!!

  • I have a 72 Cutlass with a 455. I really wanted to have the Olds motor in it. However, considering the technology and aftermarket support, the Chevrolet engines make a lot more sense. I worked hard to find the C code heads, all the engine parts cost way more than a Chevy... building it is fun, but knowing what I know now I'd just get a crate motor.

  • I know that it has been long time since video I am in process of alittle restoring of the entire car. building a forged bottom end to take the boost and now sports a fti powerglide. more to come....

  • Depends on the year

  • 442 has changed meaning as the car progressed, it also means 4 barrel(carb),4 speed and dual exhuast, and im not sure what it meant on the last 90s 442s..they were front wheel drive.....

  • @milkbig550 didnt know 455rocket existed, i thought only 350rocket

  • fk all these people talking shit. i have a 72 cutlass supreme just like that but black. & i turn alot of heads. always getting compliments here in san antonio.

  • @st8wrekin Thanks Yeah I love that guys that like the old stuff boat anchors. I need new videos I just put a glide in the car and it is taking alittle to get used to the instant power. I will have some new ones on this week hopefully.....

  • If your looking for a dual quad edelbrock #065 intake PM me.

  • i have a '77 myself, IMHO the only acceptable Chev engine(s) to put into an Olds is the LS1/LS6/LS7/LS9. the fact you're rockin' the twin-turbo setup is even better. it's nice to see that if you had a 442 or some other rare variant of Cutlass you wouldn't dream if messing with it. if you get this thing into the 9's PLEASE post vids. also, old guys LOVE to see young guys respecting the rare domestic muscle-cars. thanks for NOT rockin' a belly-button muscle car.

  • gagetrumbly ur wrong 442 stands for 400 c.i. 4 speed and dual exhuast. the 68' and back didnt have a 455 c.i. they had 400c.i. the 455 c.i. wasnt made yet. get ur shit straight before u talk shit

  • @ansjolly Actually it stands for 4 barrell Carb, 4 speed dual exhaust

  • @Bigtimeenthustlaz you are correct...

    (4)-bbl, (4)-speed, (2)duel exaust

also the 442 was originally made to be a cop car...

  • @365degrees im glad u explained that because i argue with people saying 4-4-2 was a cubic in motor lol.....Seriously they think that..

  • @beastoakland I feel safe saying the only engines you will find under a hood of a 442 is the 350-400-455. In the 60's before the 400 they used a 330 in the cutlass. And it's true the 442 was originally made to be a police car. Myself-I just love these cars! Happy motoring to you.

  • @ansjolly no 442 mean 4barrel carb,4 speed (2)dual exhuast!!!

  • @hubbarmj no it means 400 ci 4 barrel 2 dor

  • @ansjolly ... this was true in the beginning, but when oldsmobile started using automatics and different motors in the 442's it was changed to 400/455/350, 4barrel, dual exhaust. 442 became a package you could add/order on your supreme after 1969. before that, a 442 was unique and built as seperate package unto itself.

  • @ansjolly I believe 442 refers to 4 speed, 4 barrel and dual exhaust...

  • @arthurfratelli it does stand for that

  • @ansjolly 442- 4 Barrel carb, 4 speed transmission, 2 (dual) exhaust

  • looks and sounds great my friend keep it up. and dont let these faggots say anything about your car. ive blown my engine up 3 times in its years tranny is still good block is still good head is still good. these people dont know what their talking about

  • Must be a kid! No respect and no clue!

  • no respect huh Im the one getting bashed because I hate stock cars and build things to be different. You olds guys just need to come to earth it is nice here.

  • Wow venom sounds like you got a real love hate relationship with your olds btw 455 > ls1

  • @venomustang ccol car man...I am a die hard olds guy I can't want to get my olds up and running...I am boring and stroking it to a 511cubic inch motor...fun fun!!

  • @venomustang How is a Chevy powered Olds "different"? Or a Chevy powered ANYTHING for that matter?

  • @jbh11600 . . . . you must be a doucher who can't read!

  • yeah cheaper I don't have alot in this setup... I don't have a lot of money. I do it all myself if I can't do it I can't have it. Very easy to understand huh. This car is my first car that is why I build it not to many people can say that. If it were a 442 it would not be like this but it is a plain jane cutlass. but what ever dude.

  • if olds engines are "boat anchors" then why even use an oldsmobile car. if you think they can't build an engine why do you think they can build a car.

  • When I get some money and start posting 9 sec runs. I will still get the guys that can't believe that someone could do that to grandpa's oldsmobile. I went to an olds show to piss off some old folks and to my suprise the people loved it. Kinda dissapointed that day I really wanted to give grandpa a stroke.

  • ???? when you get some money????

i thought you would have a pocket full of money because you went the "cheaper way out."

  • It's a shame you disgraced an oldsmobile with a chubby engine...motor of the decade...ha ha,lol

  • Its a shame that you olds freaks think that you can get a reliable olds motor to run great and be able to drive were ever you want to go without breaking the bank. everytime I have this debate with any one of you's it ends the same olds motors are junk. And now the funny thing is that it is worth more now then it has ever been and turned more heads then when I had the earth shaking 455 in it. you guys are funny. Go back to building your boat anchors. And good luck.

  • Too bad a nice Cutlass was ruined by dropping in an LS1. Chevy motor in a Olds, abortion on wheels

  • That's kinda funny I thought i saw the rockets still on the car. Maybe they fell off when I put the motor of the decade in it.

  • dats a beast

  • good thing it ain't a 442 then huh?

  • It's no longer an Olds. You killed it once you dropped in an LS1

  • 442 stands for 4 barrel 4 speed dual exhaust

  • Nice vid...too bad about the head gaskets!

    :) Jack

  • header gasket!!

  • oh! :) Jack

  • thats nice finally some one knows what rims to put on a car like that great job my and my friend are going to restore a cutlass 71 if i need a new block just for the hell of it put a boss in it lol

  • A chevy motor in an olds is an abomination.

  • Olds should have kept making muscle cars and make them rear-whell driven with LS blocks!

  • I agree !!!!

  • Make a Rocket LS 455!

  • I could make a 442 ci but that is about it. lol

  • 442 is not the engine size

  • Nice olds. I'm right next door in Orlando but I've never really seen somebody twin turbo an oldsmobile before, nice idea and it looks like it has power going for it. Nice car

  • I love Oldsmobiles, but I understand that tech changed alot since Olds made power. The LS1 is an incredible motor. I wished you would have made a EFI, turbo, 455. I was shocked though that the motor made more torque than horsepower. I still love the chevys though being a GM guy.

  • yep I guess. I think it is the smart way out. And the cheaper way out. And the unique way out. And I wasn't going to have a cruiser with a 455 that would make 600 horse. Because I know I have been there, It sucked. Not to mention a lot of gas too. lol

  • venomustang maybe you don't know how to build Oldsmobile motors. Therea are tricks to every motor, you just have to know what makes a 455 tick. Putting Chevys into Oldsmobiles is the cowards way out.

  • well if that was the case there would be even more of a shorage of olds 350's. But everyone that has ever built a A body knows that the chevy is cheaper and more power for the money. And It doesn't even count to me cause I never had a 350 in it the whole 15 years I have owned it. But got sick of going through 455's though. And now I could drive it to alaska get 25mph and get there and back not to worry if the crap will fall apart...

  • So you took out the olds motor and put in a chevy? you know olds 350's put out more then chevy. I just hate to see a nice olds with a damn chevy motor in there, and i love chevy. so tell me im wrong. nice care tho.

  • Nice Olds .. i would love to see more video of it.. i like the way it sits on them wheels..

  • base tune just to get it running. got lean fast made 414 hp and 615 torque. With only two good pulls. The first one shocked the tire it started to wheel hop. But then we blew out the bottom of the header gasket. So I will be back there to get the rest of tune.

  • I never seen any boosted chevy make 400 hp and 600lbs of trq. With the bore to stroke ratio it would seem to me your motor would make more hp than trq. I know boost helps but with the size of the motor your hp should be higher than trq. How did you achieve this?

  • I have never seen any small motor with boost make more horse than torque. the boost makes the torque so when the motor don't make alot in the first place the torque goes crazy. All I did was put to crapy turbos on a stock ls1 and this is what happened. The new motor is a iron block with a ci of 364 and this motor is much more powerful just haven't had it back to dyno to see how much more. Thanks for looking.

  • How much horsepower and torque did you make?
