  • tonka imperial is getting love by everyone no doubt about it and I think the reason because its a unisex .. the only feminine perfume that is getting love by the community here in YouTube is Spiritueuse Double Vanille . I haven't seen it in your collection so that would be a good reason to see your review about it .. peace :)

  • @MrQ8center SDV was a huge disappointment for me. I was expecting a bombastic gourmand, instead I got a very faint and well behaved vanilla. I don't think it's worth its price.

  • Oddly enough, I just sniffed both L'Heure Bleue and Jicky for the first time this evening. In the first instant L'Heure Bleue made me so melancholy that it brought tears to my eyes. The saleslady in Sak's didn't know what to do with me, exactly, as I stood there welling up with tears. But I got a hold of myself and decided that I have enough problems and my goals do not include making people who smell me cry. Even if Queen Elizabeth does wear it.

After that, Jicky was a total treat.

  • @shabbus Yes, L'Heure Bleue is known for its melancholic feel. I get it, too. But, that said, L'HB is still my comfort scent. I adore it. I also love Jicky; my decant is on its last couple of drops. Must buy a full bottle ... soon!

  • @Pfalzgreven your reviews are amazing! you have such a huge collection of perfumes. did you buy them all (chanel, dior and so on) ??? they must have costed an arm and a leg :-p

  • I have long loved Shalimar but never bought it because of it recognisability, but hearing you today, I have decided to get some...thank you

  • @kateshawjepp Excellent. Then I can add L'Ambassadeur de Guerlain to my long list of titles! ;)

  • I LOVE the House of Guerlain! I've gone through two bottles of L'Heure Bleue (edp) and two of Mitsouko (Charlie Chaplin's scent). I have had Jicky (edt), Apres L'Ondee (edt), Samasara (once--gave it away), and the more modern day Insolence. Shalimar is way too strong for me--never did purchase a bottle. I also loved and owned Guerlain's Vetiver for men (which women love as well for themselves!). Glad to have found your channel and will have to view more of your reviews! Jeanne

  • Nice collection indeed :) but its missing the legendary " champs elysees " ;)

  • @CuteBarbie84 Weeell, legendary is a big word. I've heard nothing but bad things about CE, so, I have never even sniffed it. I promise you, that I will the next time I see it.

  • @Pfalzgreven for me its just an old school kind of perfume , i dont like it but it brings back some sweet memory ^__^ . i said its legendary because i believe its one of the guerlain old perfumes as well . my favorite perfumes are insolence and linstant magic :) powdery and sweet !

  • @CuteBarbie84 Hey! I just researched it, and sure enough, it's from 1904. Then it really is a classic Guerlain. I'll most def sniff it now. I thought it was a flop from the 80s. ;)

Powdery and sweet you say? Then L'HEURE BLEUE is your perfume!

  • I love guerlain vetiver to be honest. Great vid talk soon.

    your american friend

  • how long does tonka imperiale last on skin/cloth/hair...does it last as long as say Amen?

  • @shimenga1 It last for quite some time on me. Skin about 8 hours, clothes ... hmm, I really don't know, but, I'd reckon some 24 hours if not more?

  • @Pfalzgreven thanks...im trying to justify the price haha

  • @shimenga1 Yeah, I know! It all comes down to that age old question; food or Guerlain! ;)

  • @Pfalzgreven haha! yeah.

  • -3 just wanted to comment jicky again, I find my modern edt smells a bit sour, like milk gone bad? I believe it's something in the combo of the "guerlinade" vanilla base and the lavender? That I do not smell at all in the much more herbal vintage or perfume versions. Much like the L'Heure Bleu smells more like bad milk also in the edt version, than in the marzipan smooth perfume that is like dim lit charleston tea dances in a bottle. Just marvellous!

  • @ladypojkfroken My L'Heure Bleue is vintage 80s EdT, and it smells divine!

  • Haha är det möjligt att INTE kika på alla dina videoer på samma gang?? ;) har sett alla nu och du är min nya KAERESTE!!!!? in my dreams anyway ;))

  • @ladypojkfroken Haha, du er så sød! ;)

  • A little disappointed you didnt mention Jicky here haha, although Jicky is tricky, the EdT is hopeless in comparison to the intoxicating magic that is the pure parfum. :) And Vol de Nuit! Btw I really recommend the L'Instant pH Intense, I find it amazing and nothing like the quite boring regular L'Instant pour Homme. LOVE YOU!! -3

  • @ladypojkfroken LOL! You leave comments, which I simply HAVE to reply too. I have a decant of Jicky, modern EdT, I adore it. But, I haven't included all my decants and samples in these videos. Maybe I'll so a 'Decant Video' once?

You are really going through my videos fast ... love that! ;)

  • @ladypojkfroken ... I also have a decant of Vol de Nuit, EdT, that one I don't like, though!

  • what concentration of l'heure bleue do you use? and what concentration of guerlain would you recommend?

  • I adore L'Heure Bleue. Amazing to think it was created before WW1.

May I suggest you try Jicky. It's a Guerlain fragrance that preceeded L'Heure Bleue and originally was used by men and women, until it settled upon mostly women. ~ Susan

  • @lodengreeneyes Hi Susan. I have a big sample of Jicky, modern EdT. And I love it. Very heavy on civet, gotta love civet! ;) It's still considered unisex. I know, that Sean Connery wears nothing but Jicky! Cool!

  • @Pfalzgreven Fabulous! Jicky is intoxicating and I think it actually smells slightly better on men - maybe because of a combination of mens hormones, a bit oilier skin and body hair. I don't know....but love the smell of Jicky - especially on men! ~ Susan

  • What? So few perfumes from such an illustrious house??? Shameful!

    Lol... just kidding....nice perfumes:)

  • @domperrier HA! You of all people know, that I'm not the biggest fan of Guerlain. I have what I need, well, I'm still on the market for a bottle of Bois d'Arménie and Cuir Beluga ... food or Guerlain, that's the question?! LOL!
