  • hap chai la lai. kup prun ka. gum ang. I don't know what that means but it sounds cool though =) All I know is that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PHO, I eat lt like 3 or 4 times a week. + it's healthier than hamburgers. People need to stop being racist towards other people. Could you imagine if everyone liked exactly the same thing???? That would suck. I LOVE Italian food, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese , Mongolian, Puerto Rican, Brazilian, Korean food but my absolute favorite is Mexican food mmm mm GOOD.

  • dude you made that look sooo easy and i love chicken pho.. thanx=)

  • THAT LOOKS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD I LIKE ALL YOUR COOKING man yo the best cook on youtube.

  • Comment removed

  • celery??? what the hell...it's no longer Pho anymore

  • lmfao i know right

  • @KatiushaVN4

    Word haha

  • This is awesome, cant wait to to try it myself...hopefully it'll be less messy than the Egg Soda...Next on the list, the Delicious Spring Roll

  • home-made pho is the shit!

  • MMMMM MMMMM Gooood!

  • Beef pho is the best, but takes longer to cook. Those noodles are best to use, because they are fresh unlike the dried packaged noodles.

  • The broth is the key, if you screw it, your pho is really phocked.

(btw, you really pronounce "pho" like the two first letters of the infamous f-bomb)

  • Haha well played.

  • Excellent recipe. I have pho all the time and this recipe works well.

  • thi is bad info

  • Looks really good.. Can't wait to try it..

    Thanks

  • ahh that looked rlly good...

  • To punky817:

That's because it's the way you pronounce 'pho' in Vietnamese, dumbass

  • forgot some gingers in the soup pot.

  • @anh0501 what flavour does it get with the ginger?

  • Thanks for the video, you pho look very delicious. I appreciate your efforts.

  • stop making fun of his accents fool. at least he can speak english. why don't you try speaking another language and see how funny you sound.

  • @starwarsjedi123 hahaha ya, i know it's so hard for me to learn vietnamese....

  • @starwarsjedi123 English is a very hard laugauge too... I wont blame him for having an accent.. i have one myself.

  • @starwarsjedi123 fricken white people cant even talk chinese

  • @lifes40123 haha i agree.

  • @starwarsjedi123

This is the AMERICAN chicken soup version ....its NOT the Vietnamese version ....if you try to show people how to do it ...then show it the right way or DONT show it at all .....

  • @Ionasian you probably don't even know how to cook this without looking at this video...

  • @starwarsjedi123, I agree. Besides, Kai's English is really good in my opinion. The tiny errors he makes here and there are not that big of a deal. If you can't understand him maybe you should take an ESL course.

  • @starwarsjedi123

    THATS RIGHT!

  • Do I really want all that? :D

  • these look nice

  • Remember when you start to make any chicken stock all ingredients, are to be put in cold water not boiling, and then slowly bring to the boil. This stops the chicken cooking to quickly on the outside and becoming tough and also allowing the vegetables cooking evenly all other.

  • nice! Thanks for the tip and reasoning behind the tip!

  • looks really greasy. haha mmm just how i like my pho

  • Dang Pho Is Hella Good

  • man there is meny things in ur viedo , i cant find it here

  • Looks good.. but my favourite is Mi Do Bien and the wonton version that uses the same broth from my local vietnamese resto. They add in fried onions to the broth whicch kind of look like bread when they are cooked... i find it makes the chicken broth better. I don't think they add in very much star anaise.. not as much as the beef version.

  • yu guys are arguing too much! how do i cook it for real .

do i let the water boil

    then put the ingredients?

and how long do i leave the chicken in there for before i remoe the fat and set it to medium for 45 mins?

  • it looks like in the video it really wasn't boiled when he put in the ingredients. you can tell when a whole chicken is done when you cut along the side of the thigh. if the meat by the bone is no longer red, then it's cooked.

  • when you first place the chicken in the water with the onion and celery ect.. how long do you let it cook for until you remove the fat?

  • it shouldn't take more than 10 to 15 mins of a boil and the fat should start foaming on the top.

  • Lettem me make this now^^

    thank you for sharing

  • I love this soup! It's just like my mother makes. But be sure to boil the water before you put the veggies in or anything.

  • OMG supposed to let water boil 1st before putting anything in

  • that is not pho it is just chicken noodle soup. you are not suposed to put a whole chicken in and pho is suposed to be raw then cooked from the heat of the soup.

  • everyone cooks pho differently. as long as it ends up being pho it's good.

  • I will try your recipe. Vietnamese food restaurants (at least the ones I have been to) serve Pho with more liquid and add jalapenos and cilantro to the bean sprout, basil leaves and lime.

  • lol? 9ML11 ur hella stupid im viet u fuckin retard

du mu con cac di chi di may di an chuc may khong biet tao

  • lols

    your viet is wrong

  • You dont know shit then lol

  • lol this is we call intant Pho, not Viet Pho

Viet Pho is more than these ingredients

  • Super Healthy

  • yum this looks good and healthy

  • I made this yesterday but it was lacking something. It did not taste the same way the Vietnamese restaurant I go to, makes it. And I did not skip any steps.

    The broth was lacking flavor.

  • It lack "something" its because he didn't even flavor it. All he added was Salt. I would've added a bit of Fish Sauce or Pho seasoning from the jar. It gives the Pho flavor.

  • ok......

  • Seriously, I don't get why people feel so offended. This is an American version of Pho. I know it's missing a lot. But seriously, how many of us Vietnamese here can make American, Mexican, Italian, or even other Asian dishes the way they're really supposed to be made. We make what we think taste good. If he likes it this way, and other people like it this way, they can make it like this. North and South have different versions of Pho too you know.

  • Dont call this Vietnamese pho, it is totally not.

  • mmm that looks sooo good

  • Looks lovely !! Nice job :)

  • Wrong wrong wrong.. Where are the cinamon, anise and cardamon? Broth without cow's bone and a little bit of fish sauce? Sorry, it is not Hanoian Phở. It is American chicken noodle.

  • where can i get anise and cardamon?

  • In my place I can find them in any Asian shops. The Indians also produce and use these spices.

  • Most international grocery will have it in clear vaccuum bags. Ask the grocer. Walmart stock it as well in the spices aisle. Buy whole seeds not the liquid extract. It's only 2 or 3 a lb. About 3 seeds will flavor 1/2 gallon of water.

  • There are too many wrong things about cooking Pho in this video:

    1) Basic ingredients are missing in video. Ginger, cinnamon, etc. are missing and they are main ingredients.

    2) Onion and gingers must be slightly burnt before cooking with the soup. This basic and traditional cooking step not even mentioned in here!

    3) Chicken must be cooked many hours so that they become tender. The soup base will be much better with the chicken well cooked.

Learn to cook Pho from different sources.

  • so simple

  • what the pho?

  • hey he forgot to char and burn the onion for maximum flavor.

  • right!

  • GOOD!!!

  • Great Videos :)

  • How long can I keep the soup for left overs???

  • Yay!! ^^ thank you so much mr kai!!! by the way im vietnamese lol (but im immigrant lol)

  • I like mine with shrimp, muscle, tripe, and meatball too.

  • is the chicken broth same water wherein he boiled this chicken? ..

  • yes it is.

  • thank you!!!!

  • im lookinfor the dance lmao

  • chicken pho tastes way better then beef.

    my mom makes it amazingly.

  • mmm yum omg

  • i am vietnam i know alot of food from vietnam like banh saio

  • yeah and u spell it wrong

  • wat is the sauce you put in the pho at the end in the little dish..wats is it called?

  • its called Hoisin Sauce and the red one is Sriacha Red Chili sauce....

  • yummy meal :)

  • Instead of making all the both, My mother just use Chicken Broth to make the broth. Takes less ingredient but still taste pretty good.

  • that's how my mom makes it. will be cooking this tomorrow.

  • nooooooo the laos way is way bettter and taste better yours just plain

  • yup we add alot more stuff the laos way

  • try my familys pho.... amazing.

  • its says"with beef or chiken!" in your descrip....why not BOTH!!!!:D

  • vietnamese invented pho right?I mean we are best known from it and the banh mi!

  • looks good

  • My mom pretty much makes me pho every time that I go to her house!

Oh, and the flat noodles are called Hu Tieu.

    That tastes good, too.

  • I also prefer those flat noodles.

  • Actually, Pho comes from Vietnam, so the waiter was completely lying to you. Because Pho came 100% from Vietnam. That's what we're known best for, and if some restaurants gonna lie and take our idea away, you say "I thought it was from Vietnam, though,"

I think that Pho tastes much better with beef, it has more flavour. But the chicken looks so mouth-watering :)

My mother uses so many ingredients I cant remember, but this one is pretty simple.

  • Hanoi is in Vietnam... ignorant dumbass

  • I don't think this person is ignorant. I'm pretty sure the commenter was responding to the post by space550 below where a restaurant tried to claim Pho as Chinese.

  • Were you speaking to me? Considering the fact that I AM Vietnamese, and the fact that I ALREADY know that Hanoi is in Vietnamese, I think that YOU are the ignorant dumbass becaue I did not state anywhere in my comment, that I did not know that. YOU need to get a clue.
