  • There are situations where a two person rope team is preferred. Going uphill on a high altitude glacier I'm on a 2 person team; Going downhill on the same glacier 3 weeks further into the summer, no way in hell on a two person team. There's a time and a place for it and hopefully your experience and judgement helps you make the right decision. (Just got off Denali and the lower Glacier was like Swiss cheese without the cheese, Brutal)

  • Great story. But why was he crossing a glacier with a team of TWO? I will never climb a glaciated peak unless there is a group of at least three.
