How closely did you watch the movie? Lois wasn't married, but in a very prolonged engagement. Plus Superman never knew the kid was his until Lois whispered it to him in the hospital. Except for those two inaccurate comments, I hate to say it, but the rest of the review was pretty spot on. All it's really good for now is some awesome Superman rescue scenes with up-top-date effects.
A boring movie. Nothing interesting about it. Plus, why does he constantly keep getting beat up by people with no powers? He doesn't know how to fight, he's constantly outsmarted, he's just a over powerful oath that constantly rebounds from defeat by plowing through things.
That's where your wrong! Kirsten is perfect as Mary Jane and Bryce as Gwen vise-versa! But, yes, in every aspect Superman Returns SUCKED! Brandon Routh is nothing like Reeve, and Spacey is a complete abomination too the wonderful magic that was Gene Hackman! Bryce and Kirsten (totally off "Superman Returns" subject) were perfect for their roles! Dumbass! STAY ON TOPIC!
Being a kid when the first superman movie came out I have always had a soft spot for it. The new one how ever I found forgetable. So forgetable I didn't even relize what you were reviewing untill 5 mins into it. LOL I think yo nailed all the problems Superman fans have about this remake/continuation to the franchies. I wish they would have let Kevin Smith do it as origonaly planned. Great review.
Back in the late 90s early 2ooos Kevin smith was slated to write & direct the new superman franchise The studio decided to move in another direction. Smith is a Comic expert and would have done it justice.
Though I am a huge fan of Superman, I think you, who openly admit to a disdain for the Man of Tomorrow, have made some very good points about this movie.
