First of all toyota uses VVTI look it up, second it runs 11 compression stock. A cobalt only does about 8-9 compression. Toyota knows how to make a 4cyl. engine.
compression isnt everything dumbass and no way that japanese 4 cylinder has 11 to 1 compression ratio. My 1971 454 Ls6 8.0L corvette doesnt even have that much compression. if you were running 11 to 1 you wouldnt be able to run pump gas it would have to be race fuel. Id say thats bullshit for both comments on the cobalt and the camry
In theory, if you turn overdrive off the rpms will be higher in a shorter amount of time getting you to the peak hp and torque quicker. Not sure if this is true or not but that's the theory.
He starts at 7 seconds where at that point ucan hear engine but not see the video, and gets to 60 mph at 16 seconds appx. Which is 9 seconds which sounds dead on how fast it actually is.
I drive an '03 Camry SE with only 27,000 miles on it. Very reliable, no problems eact that the steering wheel squeeks sometimes when I'm turning. I hope to shoot a video of it soon
@amirforman The 2005 SE V6 has a 3.3 liter 225 hp 240 ft/lbs of torque engine and the XLE from the same year has the 3.0 liter 210 hp 220 ft/lbs of torque engine. But that's just for the 2005 Camry I'm not sure about anything else.
Well you should check out our channel sometime to see all of our videos. Our channel has a BMW M3 theme, and we have videos of Chryslers, BMWs, Toyotas, Hondas, Fords, Cadililacs, Mazdas, VWs, and Jeeps.
Had vibrations for couple of years, now have some grinding noise coming from the steering wheel that Toyota mechanics cannot repair, had many parts replaced so far and some of them when i didn't even had 10k on it. transmission, pump, cd/cassette player and some other things.now they are telling me at dealership that they won't be fixing my steering wheel any longer as they tried to fix it many times and weren't able to. but if certified Toyota mechanics can't fix my car who can?I have warranty!
wow thats pretty unfortunate, the 02 camry i have has been the greatest car ive owned in reliability...but like i said in my msg to you the steering wheel squeaks when being turned especially from end to end but it doesnt seem to be affecting anything and aside from that i havent had anything else wrong...You mustve gotten the 1 in a million camry or something or the 04's might have different steering systems
yea well theres a vid i put up thats a definite 8 seconds and theres one thats a wet 0-60 that was a low 8. Yet there rated to do it in 9.2 seconds...odd...Great cars though
that was 8 seconds. starts at 0:08 and ends at 0:16

If you slam the gas pedal down, does it made the tires make that cool burnout noise?
joewillgo 10 months ago
@joewillgo sometimes u can get them to give out a lil squeal lol.
froman231 10 months ago
@joewillgo its very hard to do that in a 4cyl camry !!
MrMrmarji 8 months ago
@joewillgo yes! it does when you launch into a turn. i get a good squeel for about 10 seconds.
x1ofakind1x 5 months ago
I test drove a stock 04 Toyota Camry 4cyl auto and it seemed pretty fast.....maybe around 8 seconds to 60mph
PeterGriffin4200 10 months ago
Its slow.. But its a toyota camry.. People get these cars to get from point A to point B in comfort. Its an Japanese Cadillac, not a race car.

Yeah I know what VVT-i is. I drive a Camry like this one. And how would turning off overdrive make it accelerate quicker?

Wow this is really impressive, this was the I4 and not the V6 right? I have an '02 XLE I4 with around 76k miles and I can't get it below 8 flat.

As a very happy previous 2004 camry owner, I can tell you this is the 2.4L I4, 156hp 165 ft-lbs torque.

Ah that is an awesome car. Its a little embarrassing, but my dream car (for under 20,000) is the 2005 Camry SE.
LimitPushing 3 years ago
Hey hey, the se editions loook nice.
ripsnorting13 2 years ago
@LimitPushing Go with the XLE. It has a 3.5 V6 engine. Goes faster than SE. I have a 2003 V6 LE. Not bad at all.

@LimitPushing interesting. I knew some Camry had 3.3L engine, but didn't know which ones. I was referring to V4 SE.

i saw a road test on Edmunds that said a 4-cylinder Camry did 0-60 in a horrible 10.3 sec. This car was MUCH faster though
4MATICbenz 3 years ago
02-06 I4 camry = 9.2 seconds, 07-08 I4 camry=10.3....accounting for the extra weight of the new body style
94EglVisionTSI 3 years ago
nope our 2008 Rental and my moms 07 Camry 4 cylinder both do 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. check out my video.
hause07 3 years ago
the 05-06 are slower then 02-04 due to the shitty 5 speed auto they added in 05. The 4 speed auto in the 02-04 was MUCH better
ITHINKICANFLYNO 3 years ago
ahhh, i counted between 8 and 9 seconds?
ckingsley08 3 years ago
I timed it a few times with two different timers and that was the average.
LimitPushing 3 years ago
They do pick up to 60 pretty good for 4cylinders
94EglVisionTSI 3 years ago
Yea, the weird thing about this car is that depending from car to car, they have different 0 to 60 times. I saw one 4 cyl that went 7 flat.
LimitPushing 3 years ago
maybe it has to do with the weight of the driver and/or passenger
camaroz28fatbuttgabe 3 years ago
Maybe, I just wouldnt expect that much of a change
LimitPushing 3 years ago
the less weight the betta, when i do a 0-60 or a top speed vid in my car, i'ma do it by my lonesome with a tripod...maybe "duck" tape for stability
camaroz28fatbuttgabe 3 years ago
yea im makin a headrest attachment soon
LimitPushing 3 years ago
or i might do that also
