Lets just say that a game can be however deep the player makes it. if you can survive (any smash game) with over 200 damage and win with only using 1 life out of 5 in a brawl of two or more persons, then you are a trooper. what makes you more of a trooper is if you can consistantly manage 75% of all opponets lifes ko's while only losing maybe 1 or 2. there will be lucky shots from time to time or human error. but hell, if you can do all this consistantly, then you have made the game deep.

As a G&W main, i must say that it really hurts to see a G&W that could wavedash and canceled most of his aerials losing to a smasher that spammed one move. It is very difficult to play G&W defensively, but that is exactly what you have to do against a Marth like this. Unfortunately, the G&W played foolishly aggressive, and lost to a technically unsound opponent.
