A lot of Die Hard fans forget that there's not a single actor who's THE Doctor. They're ALL The Doctor, they all bring new aspects to the character. I cried when Chris Eccleston left, and I'll cry when David leaves, and I'm willing to bet that when Matt leaves in his time, I'll cry then too. You can't just love the actor if you're going to watch the series, you've got to love the Character, no matter who's portraying him.

Oh absolutely, I just think it's silly, all those 'fans' who are hating on Matt Smith and his first ep. hasn't even broadcast yet. If that attitude ran the BBC, then Doctor Who wouldn't have made it past William Hartnell.

@SaraDalene I agree! David was a fantastic Doctor, but you don't have to choose just one. Each actor brought something unique and memorable to the character. I feel bad for Matt because everyone automatically hates him just because he's not David. Come on, people, we haven't even seen a full episode yet. Give him a chance, I'm sure he'll be great.

@SaraDalene Yeah but with the change of the main actor, the character changes personality and looks so even if the Doctor is still the last of the time lords, still travelling through time, still rescuing planets he's not the same. The way he interacts with people is different, his ideas, his tastes, he even stopped saying allons-y for god's sake. David Tennant's Doctor was brilliant and it's a great loss that he quit the show.
