  • What the ffff!? Only 22 seconds!? ._. What happened? I watched this a week ago and it worked!

  • Did the Disney suits muscle in this 22-second teaser for what's supposed to be a 6-min vid?

  • @piercethevale yeah, where the hell is the rest, eh?

  • There's a Toon Disney 1998 First Logo appears

  • uhhh

is this video supposed to cut out after 0:22??

  • I grew up watching this! I miss it so much! I loved this one and the bumble bee clip. I lost the VHS tape. :'(

  • this segment was actually meant for the unreleased third latin american disney film to follow after "saludos amigos"and "the three caballeros", called "cuban carnival". the film had about 10 segments, including a sequel to the gauchito and burrito called 'the laughing gauchito'. the 'samba' segment was the only one released.

  • The Aracuan Sounds amazingly CUTE!!!

  • I wish there was a channel that would play all the old Disney cartoons, shorts and everything all the good stuff, I would watch it all day long and it would never get old :)

  • that woman in the piano is the little sister of carmen miranda

  • A musical feel good alcoholic drink with a women playing an organ inside. I want one of what their having :)

  • samba ( ou melhor dizendo, chorinho ) de americano doido

  • truley an auwsome piece of music. more please! x

  • I always thought that was Carman Miranda on the organ, she was a big time samba artist after all and dressed kind of like that. Still I always liked the fast druming and quick portuguise speaking in samba music. This is a bit of a far cry from the stuff that is faster at carnaval with the nude girls that lead the parades, they have painted on bikinis that is.

  • Far out!

  • Eu gosto muito deste vídeo!!!!

    BRAAAASIIIIIIIIL

  • They don't make cartoons like this anymore... nowdays it's all monsters or martial arts.

  • @VukTheOmniscient i know its soo lamee now a days

  • I love this Video ! Thank you for Sharing !

  • Oh my gosh this is such a great classic :D I remembered watching this over and over when I was 6 years old <3

  • Did the little bird give Ethel Smith a "hot foot". What nerve, and while she was playing.

  • Rarely we, Brazilians, do enjoy this idea of belonging to Latinoamerica. It is a pity to observe the fact that these were times of dictatorship and the rule of CIA. Still, we like to be part of the familia!!!

  • The aracuan sounds adorable in this. Especially around 0:44 and from 2:13 on.

  • Who was that narrating at the beginning there? Sounded a little like Bing Crosby, but I doubt it.

  • This has always been a favorite of mine. It was done way before there was such a thing as computer animation! I especially love how the Hammond organ explodes and then comes back together as a cartoon. And ES was HOT as always. I only wish that I had been able to meet her - it almost happened once while I was visiting a mutual friend in Palm Beach many years back!

  • Blame it

  • DTV Disney

    The Diamonds - Little Darlin'

  • Wow! Disney had some good shows back in the day. Better than the mindless drivel we get now :( Love this! It's strangely psychedelic. Pretty bold for the late 40's :D

  • @InflatablePlane i think one of the animators had such problems..remember "Dumbo" and the pink elephants? back in 1941? i'ts a recurring matter

  • i think we had melody time on vhs, but i think it might be up at the schoolhouse

  • What's the name of Donald's Parrot friend?

  • Zé Carioca

  • It's more commonly seen as Jose Carioca or Joe Carioca in English speaking countries.

  • We Brazilians call him Ze Carioca. Ze is to Jose, what Joe is to Joseph. He's an icon in Brazil.

  • Jose Carioca. :))

  • José

  • i stil have this taped on vhs i mean like the whole session of melody time

  • i love the woman on the organ

  • I LOVE IT XD

  • I wish i was that talented and could play the organ like that. The harmonies by the dinning sisters are really cool. But no matter how many times i listen to this song i can't learn the words.

  • okay i found the lyrics i'm good.

  • Aww...i used to watch it when i was little...brought bac some god old memories!!

  • hey, how you guys call the Green Parrot in English? In Portuguese we call Ze Carioca , Caricoca is a name given to a person who was born on Rio. Ze is well his name but can be trasnalate as Joe

  • José, or sometimes Joe.

  • me and my brother used to watch this when we were little. we would dance around, and pretend to play the organ.

  • Now what does that Woody Woodpecker guy have against the piano woman?? I can only immagine how much this pisses off the feminists and such.

  • The Aracuan has nothing against the woman. He's just playing jokes. That's its nature ^^

  • OMG this used to my my favorite movie. I love it!

  • The final piece of the puzzle =)

I've had vague memories of this cartoon ever since I saw it when I was really little, and never knew what it was. I saw a picture of the Parrot somewhere and looked him up on wikipedia, used youtube to check out all the films he'd been in until I found this. Bingo! Another childhood memory sourced =D

  • Now check my 'story'.. I was watching the Simpsons and the day's episode was a spoof on Johnny Appleseed.. And then I wondered..."Johnny Appleseed, Johnny Appleseed..that's reminds me of something.." So internet we go.. From Appleseed to Melody Time to this great..well..sketch it was a short way.. ahah

  • i love this and the three cabeeros (pretty sure i spelled that wrong)lol

  • Yes, it's spelled thus: Caballeros.

  • This was also featured as part of the Ludwig Von Drake "Music for Everyone" cartoon a few years later.

  • im glad u put this up not alot of people remember panchito donald and hose even tho panchito isnt in this one but still i loved these guys growing up!

  • Me parezco al Aracuan cuando como mucha azúcar jajajajajajjajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja (como ahora)
