  • Gotta love that old iron!

  • is this a YDM-4 (the metre gauge diesel used in India,Malaysia etc) ? nice exhaust from the engine !

  • @avinashi07 No, they are standard gauge (4' 8.5")

  • GOD thats sounds soo awsom, wish they were still using them as much as DASH9's, SD70's, and P42's and varying models of each.

  • are these still around?

  • @celica825 Sadly no, the engines are all gone. The train cars are still around and in use in Bathurst, though.

  • What it's all about

  • wow...now i know why railfans love Alcos..that was the first time iv heard one

  • Now that's a sound you can't forget. Gotta love those old Alco's!

  • Awesome video 5 stars,great job man!!!!!

  • The MLW RS18....fantastic unit & without question the best Alcos MLW ever produced, the 251 motor worked & maintained well at 1800HP,it did not surprise me that over half of them were purchased from CPRail after being purged considering half of them were rebuilt in the mid to late 1980's.

  • They are great units, that's for sure.

  • Were those hoppers at the rear of the train for copper ore?

  • Some kind of concentrate, zinc I think.

  • good memories

  • Awsome sound!

  • I think they were putting on a show for me. :)

  • Gotta love Alco's in the year 2007! Never say DIE!!
