Hi! Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. You can email me at brachyblog@gmail.com. Not clear if you have the fixator on both feet or just 1. I only had it on 1 so I'm not sure how soon you could walk can only assume it will take a few more days or a wk longer than me. I believe I started walking without any crutches at about 6-7 weeks after the surgery.  I did have a limp so not sure how that would effect you if both your feet have fixators. I have the fixator on my foot I wanted to know how long it took u to walk with out crutches I was looking to go back to work in two weeks but I don't know my left foot hurt a little moew then the right? I just wanna know when I will be able to walk on my own thxxxx

I've heard different things about the external fixator. One person told me that turning the fixator is painful during the first few days...is this how it was for you? I have the same condition and I am looking towards getting this surgery done.

I never felt any pain turning the screw. The only time I really felt pain was when I had my infection.  It was somewhat painful when I tried walking at first but more scary and nerve racking.
