Panasonic PT-AE4000U Projector : Tech Session

i have a 15 x 15 basement studio and have had a 51" Mitsubishi rear projection tv for years. Does anyone think that this projector would work well in it? I saw one on youtube and loved the sheer size of it.Ive never had one but love the fact i could fill up my one wall with a huge screen. I am also concerned about the heat this puts off. Is it energy efficient and does it get hot ?

@Sjrick This unit works amazingly anywhere (as long as you have proper ambient lighting control.) We've received a lot of positive reviews. I don't think the heat from the unit will be an issue at all. These units are also practically silent.

am in the market for new projector. currently own epson EMP-TW2000 and was lookin at gettin the epson TW4500 but may have to grab me one of these puppys.still doin me homework on this but cery nice. great vid .nice work

@pogobull i will be posting a video comparing the Epson 8500UB, Panasonic AE4000U, and Vivitek 5080 pretty soon. I know its not on your list, but i am thinking the 8500 UB is very similar (or the same) as the TW4500. In the demo, I like the Epson with out of the box settings. I personally love the Epson color, though many of our sales people liked the Vivitek for its color. And the Panasonic is our best selling projector this year. So watch for a comparison in the next few days. :)

To the best of my knowledge you can't bump up a projectors lumen output by getting a brighter lamp. The optical system is tweaked for optimum color, contrast and such all with that particular lamp. So, unfortunately, you'll need to get that same lamp. There may be some tweaks you can do that will make your projector look a little brighter though - with some sacrifice for color accuracy and contrast ratio. You might also improve brightness with a new screen or lighting changes. Hope that helps!

hi i have a panasonic ae2000u projector and i need to replace the lamp and was wondering is it possible to buy a better lamp that would be brighter for it or do i have to buy exact same lamp again?
