@SalientK which is exactly what the call of duty franchise did with No Russian and the exploding truck. They were simple ploys to make people buy the game just to see how "edgy" those scenes were.
If anything he can be called the hero of the franchise, but not MW1 specifically, you need the entire story to do that, it is pretty clear how they build up Soap to be the hero, giving him a background as extremely capable but disliked at first only to rise to the challenge and then the inevitable downfall.
He has every characteristics of a "coming of age story".
Funny thing is, I never said I did, nor did I imply it.
Ever heard of a plot synopsis? er even pirating a game? or see a lets play? You don't need to own a game to know the plot of it, same way that I don't need to be a scientist in physics to know how the theory of gravity works.
booyah grandma, now games are art

I have to start watching Daria

Judging from your examples, I think you're mistaking edginess with violence and bloodlust.

Except, in MW1, Price isn't the hero.
In MW2 you don't have to shoot.
And in MW3 your point of view isn't from the hero.
I agree with you that they are TRYING to be edgy, but your examples suck.
TheElsarild 3 months ago
@TheElsarild Sure they do. Keep arguing that Price isn't the hero, that will work.
