i dont understand the title of your video, the "vagrant campsite" was behind the trees. you picked up trash which was near the roadside (which is fantastic!! we need a million more like you) but if your problem was with the vagrants why didn't you go in & clean up their spot?
I didn't want to bother them. They were there at the time. It was a preliminary look only. I also didn't feel right being there.
Later I found out that this is all private property, and the owner is just negligent. The police eventually went in and cleaned it and them all out, and it's been mostly deserted since. Making a fuss over a neighborhood problem pays off again.
Well wish more people would clean up then talk and pray. But we are hipocrits by saying that because we dont even clean up our front yard... Guess We need to start doing that and more :)
KasparHauser4 - I'd love to come help out, but I'd need some gas money first...lol I actually helped push through the Atheist Community of Austin's Adopt A Street, Burnet Road between Anderson Lane and Ohlen Road, here in Austin. I want to post video of a clean up soon.
Not enough tax revenue to pay for cleanup of public land? Let's remove the tax exemption for churches!
All that bending down can't be good on your back. And sticking your hands and face down to the ground where a snake or other critter might leap up at you could be hazardous.
You need one of the grabber tools you may see DOT workers using on the highway. Maybe you could get a loaner from your city/county public works dept. to do THEIR WORK.
CrucieFiction - Yes I get back pain regularly, but that's from other things many years ago. I know about that grabber tool. I don't use it for two reasons. It would slow me down, and the trash I go for is very often too large or too heavy for that tool. Thanks for the suggestion though! Yes, I keep the City of Austin busy with my complaints. They have a big fat file on me!

I was just cleaning up my local vagrant hamlet today - never thought I would run into another atheist cleaning up the woods.
Thanks!
