But here are 3 tips for you. First, consult someone intelligent about the updates. I have 2.3.5 with sense 3.0. My.phone works fine but there's been many reports of the phone acting up badly after the latest update. the one it comes with works just fine.

@bonedown202 To bad the music player sucks. Very high none removable bass if you're using in-ear headphones like me. I actually went ahead and bought a music player app (can you believe it lol). It's called poweramp and the great sound from the eq and the players integration of the lock-screen and everything else has basically made it a super music phone. Just a tip if you're anal about music quality. It also make flac playable in the phone so that's great news for me. I'll stop spamming now =P

@bonedown202 Second, if you're going to use a screen protector, make sure it's done right so it doesn't block the sensors at the top left of the phone (the ones that makes the display turn off when you hold it to your ear, and on again when you remove it from your ear). If its dirty or blocked the screen will always be black when making calls thus making calls VERY annoying.

@dreamer1875 Yes the Desire S' battery can last for up to 2 days if you're just using it for calling, texting, email and IM, but that defeats the whole purpose of a smartphone. I hear it gets easily over a day of hard use, before the battery reaches a point where it needs charging.

@Niqbal87 Think to yourself - do you really need a dual-core processor? What will you be using the device for? Simple social feeds, texting, calls? Or maybe HD video recording as well? Gaming? The answer is dependant on your needs - just remember with a 1GHz processor, 768MB of RAM and a decent GPU (Adreno 205), the Desire S can perform all of those tasks at a reasonable rate. The only upside of the Sensation is that it can record 1080pHD video, whereas the Desire S can shoot at 720pHD. =)

So why did you remove the incredible convenient optical trackpad of the original desire? And why didn't you upgrade the AMOLED display technology to SAMOLED+? Even the physical buttons I liked is removed. Guess I'll just stick to the original desire.

@cataclysmichael Android 2.3 Gingerbread handles Text correction better so optical trackpad is not needed, they keyboard below has some arrows which lets you correct texts in replacement for the trackpad.

AMOLEDs are currently in shortage, SAMOLED and SAMOLED+ is currently only for Samsung.

Cannot argue about the physical buttons.

@cataclysmichael Why in the world would you want an optical trackball/trackpad on a phone? It's 2011, what smartphones, besides shitty BlackBerry phones have them these days? None. And the reason they didn't update the screen was because Samsung are simply using them all for themselves with their own phones, not to mention a AMOLED or SAMOLED+ screen would significantly raise the price of the phone, as if it isn't enough already at £400!

@Staint12 Flash ROM to some custom that uses all stuff you can find in HTC ROM and you can get up to 2x more battery life. That´s what I did to my Desire HD, also it have stuff only Sensation have. Sense 3.0, Google Voice chat etc.
