Get a travel phone. TracFone, prepaid cell phones, has an international plan. It works for over 60 participating countries. It's pretty easy to work -- you call a number and they basically connect you to the number you need. The calls cost the same as a local call. Definitely check it out at the tracfone website if you're going traveling.

A good solid travel guide might be useful to have while your in Europe. You could read it on the train or before you sleep, so you know what to expect from the city.....But remember ; A traveler sees what he sees, a tourist sees what he came to see.

@ResetLiveGrow you should probably get a durable and small pad of paper with a small pen. When I traveled in Europe I could only speak so much of the languages spoken in each country but a lot of the locals could write in English or they could draw a map. Plus you should never be without paper and pen.

Any note pad/spiral notebook will do but I like my metal one from Barnes & Nobel (at the check out) durable, small & with a pen! Good luck!

compression bags only work for the first pack. if you don't have a vacuum where you are staying, you can't squeeze them again.

You might wanna take some antibiotics with you as well, in many countries it is a pain in the ass to see a doctor, and you can only buy antibiotics with prescriptions. Take some at least for the most common upper respiratory tract infections....

But after that, there's a chance I may visit a few remote areas - in those cases, I'll probably have to wait awhile before being able to upload new clips.

A good strong waterbottle is always good to have as well as a very small bottle of bleach, if the water in an area is not drinkable by North American standards you just put one drop of bleach per liter of water, let it sit for 5 minutes and it will then be drinkable. none wants that beaver fever.
