I cant believe I went 14 years without even knowing about this manga... Only a year ago I see a few posts about and vids with people sayng what their fav anime/manga was. Thought I'd check it out finally. Wow... That is all I can say for this anime. The story was completely out of this world. Fav anime for sure.

@serioushamster I dislike overrated animes like Death note or Naruto. Berserk is the real deal; it's all about blood, sweat and tears. The most powerful story I've ever seen, beats even Akira and I love Akira as well.

I couldn't agree more, this makes my skin crawl and my nerves pulse every time I hear the drop and then the voice and the raise. It makes everything about the day more emotional, and helps me question what I should be doing in my life.
actually, one of the big factors in griffith's decision was the people that did die for him- the vision showed him all those that had died for his cause and partially convinced him that not becoming a demon would make their sacrifice futile.
Griffith is a brilliant character. I hate the action he committed in the end of the Golden Age arc, however you need think about all the trauma he has endured over the past year before he was rescued and the state he was left in; pretty much hopeless. So with the feeling of being useless, the extensive trauma and the fact that he was manipulated, the vision he was shown conjured by the God's Hand to persuade him to accept, it's understandable why he did it. Hate the action, don't hate him.
I love Berserk so much. It's one of those great animes where by the end of it you truly feel as though you have been on a journey with the characters; you know them personally, you've seen them change, you've been with them through their greatest victories and their most crushing defeats. It epitomises the ideas of camaraderie and the friendships and relationships feel natural and real. That and it has the singular most badass anime character ever in it!

If he cared for them, he would not decide to leave hawks behind. I think the ending like that was inevitable, cause Griffith had no honour nor dignity, his only value was to become a king (king of daemons?), at all costs.

Before the demons arrived, Griffith told Gutt's to stay back, there was compassion in him after trying to kill himself.

When Guts and the Band rescue him, he sacrifices them to the God Hand to be King. All of it was planned by the God Hand. Anyone else would've done the same.

It also makes me think he knew when he tells Guts"I will choose where you will die".
i dont think that Griffith himself controls gatsu destiny. Gatsu as you remember has a high spirit, as said by god hand themselves. and that he himself attracted others their own destiny, because he was so strong willed to live. and others wanted to be around him because of the strong light he gives in their dark world. but then again your right. Griffith will choose where he will die. but then again his will be to overcome that!......for caska?

@Nimburu If your talking about the movies i think it is going to cover just the Golden Age Arc. I believe that is only to what the anime got up to but it is going to be more accurate to the manga. I hope this gets people interested in the series and we can finally get the manga scooting along and eventually get a conclusion to this awesome series.

I'd first like to mention that I have not seen the anime or read the manga yet. However, someone said this song was good so I thought I'd listen. Before listening I read many comments praising the song, saying they cried, etc. I was expecting quite an amazing song. I do enjoy it quite a bit, but as someone who listens to a lot of sad music where you can FEEL the emotion from it.... with this song, I'm very underwhelmed. Just didn't do it for me, sorry. :L Maybe you'd like some suggestions.

I remember first watching the anime when I was 9 because I played the Dreamcast game, Sword of Berserk - Gut's Rage. I didn't expect it to be so violent back then hahaha! Recently I read the manga and its just amazing. I love the brutal reality and pure emotion. It's so deep.

@shanethefox Basically I hate him for betraying the people who would die for him without any hesitation, and he did it only out of selfishness and hunger for power. If he did it for an actually good reason I wouldn't have hated him as much. However, he kinda makes half of the story so yeah I still love him as a character but hate him as an individual.

@sarevor I still hate him even if some goodness is left in him. Volume 22 page 78 mucks up the waters. Maybe Griffith isn't 100% evil, or he was just using the hawks like he used that fat ass at Doldrey. Maybe he always knew the nature of the crimson behelit, and couldn't stand the though of losing guts and not sacrificing him. He does speak a lot like the God-Hand. "you belong to me Guts". It also makes me think he knew when he tells Guts"I will choose where you will die".

i dont think that Griffith himself controls gatsu destiny. Gatsu as you remember has a high spirit, as said by god hand themselves. and that he himself attracted others their own destiny, because he was so strong willed to live. and others wanted to be around him because of the strong light he gives in their dark world. but then again your right. Griffith will choose where he will die. but then again his will be to overcome that!......for caska?

@itachiu37 I agree, HOWEVER, I think he MIGHT have done it whether he was captured in that tower or not. He always craved power, and achieving ultimate power, wasn't that always his purpose? At least I'm assuming that's why he was leading the whole band of the hawks around.

@Nimburu If your talking about the movies i think it is going to cover just the Golden Age Arc. I believe that is only to what the anime got up to but it is going to be more accurate to the manga. I hope this gets people interested in the series and we can finally get the manga scooting along and eventually get a conclusion to this awesome series.

I'd first like to mention that I have not seen the anime or read the manga yet. However, someone said this song was good so I thought I'd listen. Before listening I read many comments praising the song, saying they cried, etc. I was expecting quite an amazing song. I do enjoy it quite a bit, but as someone who listens to a lot of sad music where you can FEEL the emotion from it.... with this song, I'm very underwhelmed. Just didn't do it for me, sorry. :L Maybe you'd like some suggestions.

I remember first watching the anime when I was 9 because I played the Dreamcast game, Sword of Berserk - Gut's Rage. I didn't expect it to be so violent back then hahaha! Recently I read the manga and its just amazing. I love the brutal reality and pure emotion. It's so deep.
