  • I really hate the drive to Toronto. Once the collector/express starts it's fun because it is exciting and there is plenty to see. But the 4 hour drive to get there from Ottawa sucks. It's tailgaters, slow pokes, speed demons, lane hoppers, and trucks, trucks, trucks (all passing each other) the whole way. I hear they are going to widen the 401 to a minimum of 3 lanes per direction for its entire length. That would be nice.

  • Great Video im supose to drive to Toronto from Chicago in a few months great city. By the way what song is that the very first song?

  • @jland904 Thanks, the song is "September - La La La". All the songs are listed at the end of the video's description.

  • THey got rid of all the rest stops on the 401. Not sure why, but theyre all pretty much gone

  • @ProWrestlingProvider They are building new rest areas. There are like 2-3 open for now but they're totally rebuilding all of them.

  • Great vid mate makes me want to visit Toronto even more now. Hope you post some more and thanks for an entertaining 9.24 seconds :)

  • Great video. I hope you post more like this.

    Thanks

  • @onemanband08 Thanks. Several videos are indeed coming, with much better quality (1080p), but I have to find some time to upload them :)

  • Love the video. Love the song. Couldn't find it on iTunes Canada though. Where did you get it?

  • all i can say is thank goodness for the ETR we never take the 401 into toronto when we head north looking forward to your vids this spring and summer bud

  • Thanks, the ones coming up will hopefully be in HD quality :)

  • The new Katy Freeway in Houston is now bigger than the 401

  • High traffic like on evening :) Is it difficult to drive in Toronto on high times?

  • Heh what you see here is not so bad :) The 401 has a lot of traffic (one of the busiest in the world in some sections), but this is why it's also so huge (widest in the world currently, AFAIK). However, this video was done on a weekend. During regular rush hour times - it is very difficult to drive through Toronto on most freeways. The 401 hardly moves. Although, it is still not as bad as many other big cities.

  • you didnt have eny breaks? you are an animal!

  • We did have one break, but also I split the driving with my dad. I was only filming when my dad was driving. It's not such a long distance though. Maybe 3.5 hours or so.

  • filmed through port dope but not cobourg? laame

  • Filmed at completely random intervals.

  • Scenes like the last 2 minutes of this vid are experienced on all 4 sides of Atlanta.

  • lol that bend at 0:41 did it highway turn towards the direction u came from....

  • Nice Soca song kicked in at 3:24

  • Great video, I like time-lapse videos very much. Could you tell me the name and artist of the song that starts at 3:15 in the video, I wanna buy it.

  • Thanks :) Just expand the video's description, all the songs used are at the bottom.

  • That was pretty cool! You flew right past where I live(Kingston) and then my hometown(Port Hope)!

Great video(music sucked though, just not my kind of music). What the heck is in Rockport..lol!

    Thanks for the great video!

  • i hate you complete

  • New Castle

  • Also, nice video.

  • There are a lot of aggressive drivers on the 401 who must travel at 140+ km/h, and will tailgate anyone who goes slower, even if they are not in the left lane. These people are usually 16 year old males who drive Honda Civics.

  • it's still a fun drive though, always an adventure.

  • 401 is fun. Lots of people dislike it, even dread it. A lot of people in the area wont drive through Toronto on it. One time someone threw a greasy fast-food wrapper out their window and it hit my windshield while I was going 90 odd miles an hour (yea I hate metric), there was a huge grease splat on the windshield, it sucked.

  • where i lives gas is a $1.09

  • Why you skip some of the video.

  • What song you start youtube.

  • well the first 5 mins look almost like driving down to washington dc in virginia, Its amazing how much traffic there is in toronto, I how much is gas in canada?

  • Nice music. :D

  • It's somewhat of a problem in North America in general, but then again, 120 km/h is fine for the left lane in a 2-lane setup, because the right lane is flowing at around 100 km/h, which is the limit. If the right lane is flowing close to 120 km/h then you're right, you have no reason to be in the left lane. As long as you overtake in the left lane and come back to the right lane (if there are only 2 lanes), it's fine.

  • this video contains the easiest trick in the book. Its called SPEEDING UP THE CAMARA....not driving fast....

  • Yes, indeed. Where have I claimed that this is a video of driving fast? The intent of this "trick" is not to create the illusion of driving fast, but to fit a 2-hour footage into a 10-minute video :)

  • no shit sherlock

  • Incredible video! 401 is an amazing freeway, and as much as I love Atlanta's freeways(particularly 75/85 near downtown), 401 easily blows away 75/85. Too bad I sadly won't get to drive 401 anytime soon. :(

Loved your song choices for this video, especially La La La by September!

  • CANADA BEST PLA

    CE ON EARTH!!!

  • yeah ! =)

  • ummm...the 401 is the world's widest road at certain points, has the world's most annual traffic, and includes the world's widest bridge (in toronto) you can wiki highway 401 if you don't believe me...

  • I believe you... I just said that because of the begining

  • I believe you...Canada rocks!

  • It sure does!!! Best place on earth!

  • Did you watch the whole video? The 401 is 20 lanes wide at some points.

  • no way, max is 18 lanes

  • I think the person making the above point counted ramps too, in which case I believe the maximum is 22 lanes? You are correct though, the 401 maxes out at 18 through lanes with a 4+5+5+4 setup.

  • This place looks cool. I outta check it out.

  • Great!

Whats the name of the songs?! I like it!

  • Thanks :) The names of the songs are at the end of the video's description.

  • I don't know the singers from the other songs, but I do know that the first is

" La La La ( Never give it up ) `by September.

  • highway 401 parking lot! i spend at least 2hours/day commuting to work and home on the 401

  • is rockport across the lake from toronto or something?

  • Not really, it's along the northern shore of the lake, to the east.

  • It's east of Gananoque.

  • nice vid dude=) 5 stars

  • Thanks!

  • It looks great in the dark seeing the stream of red lights ahead and then having them zoom off at exits etc.! Great work.

You'll have to get that section during the day as well one time!?

  • Thanks :)

I will try filming this section sometime during the day. I was actually thinking of doing the "Toronto ring" (a system of 4 highways that together form a ring around the city), although I might not get to it soon.
