While I won't comment on the lack of Cuddy, without her it means House is back where he was at the start of the series. Depressed, alone and hating himself. Seven solid seasons with no character progression is a terrible, terrible thing for a series. Returning him to vicodin ruined the series for me. It should have ended in season six.
