Strangely he wrote this song after losing his father and it was his wife who encouraged him to record it. How significant this song is right now! Hmm! People this is the price of the anointing - being able to love and trust God even in the midst of such excruciating pain as losing a spouse. Not everyone has to pay it to this point, but when people covet the anointing on someone's life, ask am I able to drink of this cup? God bless you Bro. is it just me or is the drummer doing a lot- it felt like Marvin was trying to bring him down with his hand but he just wasnt listenin - maybe he was trying to prove he could keep up with Calvin but it was so overbearing - or maybe the sound man needed to bring him down a little - sumn

It is 5:20am in the morning and I am watching this video listening to the words of this song and I can truly say that I never would have made it had it not been for my mother raising me up in the All the promises of God, My older Bro sang this song at my mother's funeral in march 2008 and since then I have gone through so much more mess and still going through some stuff I want out of it, but I pray God take me through and keep me.

Only a person who has lived this thing can really relate. there is a difference between being religious and really having an experience with God. god gave him that song he was just an instrument that God used.
