  • Reminds me of trying to use an ATM in Hiroshima that didn't have English language translation. You feel like you should be able to figure it out, because hey, an ATM is an ATM, right? But then you realize that if you happen to push the wrong button (or sequence of buttons) the machine might keep your card. Frustrating.

Fortunately, a lot of the ATMs in Tokyo and Yokohama have the English translation. Not so when you travel around the rest of the country, however.

  • The very end with the sneakers, "one of these things is not like the other" came to mind.

  • Holy shit, $12 for a can of spam? Wow.

  • PWNING :D ahahahahahaa

  • Is he Bill Nye the Science Guy???

  • great video! :D

    make more :)

  • Cooney, I LOVE your stuff. I always think of seinfeldisms with your stuff. Why do you add "machine" to ATM i mean the m stands for machine, like PIN number, what's the deal with braile on the drive-thru ATM i mean blind people don't drive do they? and why do we call it a drive-thru? keep up the funnies!

  • You bring up a lot of real world observations, while for this video it's a bit of a joke. (not entirely based in reality)

Any ATM that has an English option will have main instructions in English. However if you go into certain options, they're won't be an English translation for it.

  • As a rule, short of taking money from a debit card, most ATM's offer only Japanese instructions. (trying to get money using a credit card is rarely something that is in English or is even offered on a lot of ATM's for foreign credit cards)

I could be mistaken and Cooney found one that has an English option for no viable reason at all, but doubtful. Frustraton is still there, in that it's suprising why all options wouldn't be translated.

  • xD; Well it's nice to know Nike can serve the god in prayer so well. xD; They didn't even match D:! At least if they were lighter of something.

D: Yeah I never understood sitations like that where they make you jump through hoops only to wind up right where you started. Doesn't that make THEM waste energy by having to put that in there?

    Ah, silly people.

    Thanks again for another great video. xD;

    Keep it up!

  • Great video! I love your work. You capture the soul of living in Japan.

  • Another Great Video !

    Thank you :)

    Amusing and educational :p

    Btw, How's little Kenji ?

  • nice.

  • Omg! That fellow at the end amused the crap out of me!

:P You should have an update on the Kenji situation every couple videos.

  • Yes, I'll certainly have to do kenji the fish updates. Everyday he survives is an honest shock to me as I can't believe anything can actually survive in my apartment. Also, I've recently pimped his crib, so I'll need to show that in the next vid.

  • yay, another great vid :)

  • Hilarious as always Cooney, and thanks for showing the market that sales peanut butter! The shot with the guy in the mismatch outfit is funny as hell, dude. I can't wait to see your next video.

BTW, how is your fish Kenji doing?
