Question, how did the reacitve ball get cleared for pba usage? It seems that once the pba said it was a go, other players would have drilled one and tried it out. Hard to keep that a secret. Wayne and Marshall must have been think wtf? He was able to cover a good 15 boards plus on the 2 8 spare. I would have been scratching my head wondering what kind of "drilling" was in that ball, lol.
Yes, McDowell used the Xcalibur, the first time a resin ball was used on the PBA Tour. However, Nuline was the company that made the Xcalibur, not Storm.
@brad817 So...for those that do not know. Nu-line came out in 91-92 with the X-Caliber. There was the 16lb version that marc was throwing and a 15lb version which was black. I happened to own both of them at the time after watching this live telecast. Brunswick came out with the rhino pro, then ebonite came out with the turbo-x., crush-r, nitro-r, and so forth. I think the last ball nu-line came out with was a few years later and it was called the Genesis.
I must admit, Wayne Webb I think bowled a better game in this match than his score showed; he really got victimized by horrible carry IMO. I mean, 3 solid 10's...Go figure!!!
Bo Burton is so full of it when he said "they call him the green machine because he is always thinking about the money." They called Webb the "Green Machine" because he used, endorsed, and won with a Ebonite green polyester ball which was nicknamed the "Green Machine" The ball was a Magnum 4 or 5, I am not sure. Can anyone correct me on this?
That 2-8 double wood conversion was crazy?! He almost blew it there.

Was McDowell using a Xcalibur? I believe the Xcalibur was the first reactive ball Storm Bowling Products came out with.
