i dont think a lot of people like FF for its game play anymore, its more about the amazing graphics and animation. i mean, they are still amazing at what they do, but the game play could be more interesting and challenging. for me, i still love the FF series for their graphics and animation, its always beautiful to look at. in other words, eye candy ;D

I am old school with ff games-I have 1,2,4,7,8,10,10-2 and Tactics(hate it).The ffi2 characters looked like Clolud,Tidus,Yuna,etc.Recyclin­g characters.Penelo and Basch are my faves in ff12

Every final fantasy game has it's own experience. Every final fantasy introduces new technology. This is a taste of the future that we as humans are moving toward whats new and whats better. Experimentation is the key. I plan on speaking to square enix and my goal is to single handedly bring them just 1 new idea that could jolt the final fantasy series to be by far the best games to ever created. They say out with the old and in with the new but why not keep the old and new?

btw i do agree 12 had its moments but this game looks like its going off at a complete tangent compared to the small deviance of its predecessors

this doesnt look like a FF game... why cant they just stick to the original formula like in 7 & 8.. if i wanted stylish looking gameplay full of combos and acrobatic moves id play devil may cry. the whole 'rank' screen after defeating an enemy just doesnt fit

Every FF has something. 'None is bad to me. Played them all and enjoyed everyone of them. Look at first I thought raelly FFXII would be very bad. I didn't had time to play for 2-3 years and now I just started on FF12 and I am playing it constantly. What a game. I enjoy it even more now than random battles. Meaning to say it depends on the person and your view at how you like it. I personally always adapt to any FF game and begin to like it. I love variation and new things everytime. SQUARE +++++

Very true, I agree! However, I almost feel as if Final Fantasy has lost it's magic touch. Nobuo Uematsu no longer does the soundtrack/score, and lately I feel it's becoming more about the graphics, androgynous characters and the constant milking of FF7...:( FF13 looks great VISUALLY, but it doesn't have that magic FF tactics/FF8/FFX/etc had...

Leonsevilkitty - FF9 was funny and had a good cast of characters but it lacked alot of things that usually make FF games so "great"....like not having a depressed main character being sad and/or being a pretty boy....Zidane wasn't any of those things....but that's why I liked him better lol, it also lacked depth in grinding and items like FF7 and FF8 had that up the ass..having so much things to "level up"

To me, this has been happening ever since Tetsuya Nomura had been given more and more control and Sakaguchi-san had less and less to do with the actual stories... I'm out on a limb, here, but I think that FF has been trying to gain a wider appeal to EVERYONE since Final Fantasy VIII.

@misterkiller89 I couldn't agree more. I remember playing ff7 as a little kid and being entranced by the magical music and overall story of the game. in my opinion ff7-10 were the best ones all around. I remember seeing a preview of a remake of ff7 for ps3, does anybody know what happened to that?

torsv - actually Sazh's summon is a female four-legged valkyrie with a german sounding name that transforms into a fiery race car that he rides.....I believe Ifrit is shown in this game but he isn't a summon of any of the 6 main characters tho

They gave it a MMORPG feel (kinda like WoW, but futuristic). The only thing I have with this is that it's too... futuristic.

I like the FF that's a mix of old and new (leaning more to old). That's why most of the previous series worked out well (as well as other Square games).

I know that you have to make it like this to push PS3's limits (and to cater to the new generation), but making life-like and interactive environments with that old FF formula will "wow" even more people.

I believe that carbuncle thing, but I actually believe they serve a unique purpose. Like Ifrit being a living weapon for the military, Siren for music and Carbuncle for the kids
