without doubt, 1956 and 1978 films were the BEST versions. 1956 film ends with in great open ended manner, great to interpretations, while 1978 film ends in a tragic, but outstanding manner.
both are some of the best sci-horror film ever made.
One of my favorite SCI-FI films of the 70's (along with Alien, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Moonraker etc). The acting was perfect. D.Sutherland and Brooke Adams were brilliant but I loved Jeff Goldblum and Veronica Cartwright the most - amazing screen couple. I guess this film inspired The Hidden (1987), Body Snatchers (1993), The Arrival (1996), Mimic (1997), The Faculty (1998), The Lake (1998), Slither (2006), The Invasion (2007), tv show Invasion (2005) etc. It deserved a sequel
The music and re-arranged clips make the movie look far more action-packed than the real deal, which happens to be a very gloomy, depressing experience to sit through.
I just miss sad endings or horrible endings today if the main dies its horrible for the movie production ah secret window good ending because he got away
Hi does anyone have a clip of the bit near the end when one of the last humans alive thinks they see a friend and they go to them to try to talk to them and the other person turns round to point at them and screams? Or maybe I'm thinking of a different film?
You are remembering correctly. There are anti-spoiler people online that get upset if you tell too much and who think I did with Leonard Nimoy in pod form. I will point you in the right direction though - the woman who survives at the end starred in the latest remake.
@noobtube82 Im looking for a clip of that too...anyone know where it is? my daughter wants to see it, Im trying to educate her on classic old horror movies :)
I had to think about it for a second but there is that quick bit near the end in the field as well as the factory / warehouse. Too bad she was a pod person.
You are correct with the Bond Trailer audio cue. I figured UA wouldn't mind since they owned both. My favorite UA trailer opening has to be Hackers from the 90s.
I saw this on FOX today and right after I saw this, I went to my cousin's party where they played "Amazing Grace" twice! They played it in this version which really creeps me out!
Maybe you could have the voiceovers from the Independence Day trailer, where they talk about it being a normal day, but it isn't "for one extraordinary reason".
Although, you should get some of Sutherland's dialogue in there; he is the star of the movie. Also, the scene where Sutherland kills his double, that may be a good place to smash cut to the title. Just saying.
Maybe you should build a time machine, go back to 1978, get hired by Philip Kaufman, and present this trailer. I actually like this more than the real trailer.
Omg this movie shit me up as a kid.along with carpenters THE THING this is one of the best sci-fi horrors ever

georgelee43211 i agree with you.
this movie is more than perfect i remeber watching it first time i was like what a perfect movie & still my favorite.
donald stherland made this movie classic at his best performance.
the 1994 & the 2007 was nothing like this masterpiece,as for the 1956 version i cant judge about it i haven't saw it yet.
so you're right.

This film offered my first exposure to porn back in the 70's during my pre-teen years.

Yes, that blonde straight haired woman, who was nude from top to bottom; potentially dangerous yet oddly very attractive.

thanks for including kevin mccarthy's dialogue at the end.

Kevin McCarthy gave the '78 Invasion the extra kick it needed to up the pace early on. Without that scene, it would have been a much poorer movie.

Well done, the music and editing is by far superior than the original.

Also, you can download the font from the main titles. Google "pessima" and there is a website where you can download it for free.

I agree. I love his rat turd / caper bit in the restaurant. Perhaps a second trailer is needed...

If only. The original trailer relied on the bagpipes a bit much for my taste. It's one of the reasons I wanted to improve upon it.

Thanks. The '78 Invasion is my favorite version. And yes, Donald Sutherland does rock, even in C-grade films like Virus.

I love how it ends. This is a kick ass trailer!
Kevin McCarthy and Donald Sutherland rock!
