  • That director should have just chilled out! and let her keep working that song.

  • Is Loretta Oliver still lifting a voice! I have followed her singing through the years, and she is powerful. There is a video of her when she was a young girl singing on the James Cleveland Youth Choir w/Albertina Walker as guest soloist. I believe after Albertina finished leading the song. This young girl takes it over and the Holy Spirit ran! It was the young Loretta Oliver! Try to find it if you can, it's on You Tube!! It's Awesome, the girl had some pipes! Bless you Miss Loretta Oliver!

  • @nett1eb I just watched that video.

  • I can not ever get enough of this song, it enlightens my day everytime I hear it, praise the Lord!

  • Even though i know change must come, i cant believe the choir of fellowship has lost that sound. Fellowship had a distinct sound and when you heard them, you knew who they were. Rev jenkins is a dynamic preacher, but what fellowship was built on, is no more. The what a fellowship hour was an institution and should not have faded away. Then again who am i, lol. Just an opinion

  • I tell you what, this did my spirit real good, sho' nuff. In fact, I put it on auto-replay and just been shouting around my little apartment praising God.

  • I come here again and again. To just sit and listen and watch the grandeur of this magical musical gathering. It must be awesome in God's sight when His supernatural manifests itself in Praise & Worship.

  • Well now they ready have church @ 2:09 siiiinnng yall...Praaise Hiimm!!! My Lord...i feel u all the way thru the speakers..feel like Im right there..I sho nuff wouldve got my praise on if i was there!

  • I did not know that DYNAMITE comes in such a petite package! Sister Oliver absolutely tears it up here... The multitude of people singing in this reunion choir makes it the most dramatic singing I have ever seen.. I come back to this video over and over again.. so uplifting

  • Ms. Loretta Oliver betta sang..

  • WOW, what an awesome some never heard it sang like this, I love this song and it is my favorite.

  • OMG! This reminds me of when I was a motherless child of 8-10. In the summer, I could hear great music. I used to sneak out and walk the blocks to the Mt. Olive Baptist church of Slaton. I may have been the only white face there, but - MY - what blessings I got. To this day, almost 65 years later, I still love this kind of music and it still blesses me.

Ey, and at minute 0:58, the girl with black hair is very pretty!!!!

    One embrace form Spain.

  • This is my FAVORITE video!!!!

  • wow i love this lady o.m.g. where is she ,,,

  • This is AWESOME! The real title of this song, however, is "Highway To Heaven", & was written by Doris Akers, who also wrote the familiar Gospel hymns, "You Can't Beat God Giving" , "God Is So Good", "I Cannot Fail The Lord", "Sweet Sweet Spirit", "He Delivered Me", & many others. Her songs have been recorded by quite a few well-known artists, both Gospel and secular, including Mahalia Jackson, Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty, Bill Gaither, George Beverly Shea, The Caravans, & many others.

  • Lordy......... this is it !!

  • God bless you Rev Clay Evans!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • i wonder when this video was done or created

  • i love this kind of music, theres nothing better than this kind of music

  • Oh wait, okay now I see. Son that's a big choir!!!!

  • The choir you see represents 50+ years of Word and music ministry. It is the Reunion Choir of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Chicago. Before the term "megachurch" was coined, Fellowship was one of the largest, most well-known churches of its kind in Chicago. So, the choir represents generations of actual families and members who have been a part of the music ministry at some point in Fellowship's history.

  • @fstanley35 the difference between fellowship baptist and the mega churches of today is exactly what you stated. these churches have no roots as far as family is concerned. at institutions like fellowship, you may see six or more generations have come through the church. just from watching this video, i can tell that there is a warmnest in that church. not so with today's mega church.

  • @alexalot23 Let's go ahead and take it a step further. With these kind of churches, some of them go back to the days of slavery. It was then, that they learned of community. When no one would listen to them, they sang to Jesus. When no one would help them, they called on Jesus. When they were cast out, Jesus welcomed them with open arms. When they were beaten down, Jesus, healed them. When they were tired, Jesus called them home to rest. THAT, is what the mega churches don't have.

  • @jarbit hwy the UNAC choirs were bigger

  • @Afroguy1654 This posting was not made to compare the size of any give choir. SMH. This is a reunion choir of one church. Why are you bringing up size and denomination into this space?

  • My Word! Is the whole congregation in the choir?!?!

  • It's good to go back to the old time way!!! I love it!!!!

  • this is very beautiful

  • She's still around. Miss Loretta has always been one of my favorites at the Ship. Having been in the choir with her, one soon learns just how sincere her spirit is.

Miss Loretta doesn't sing a song; she BECOMES the song!!!

  • @fstanley35 what is the address of this church? coming in october and wanted to visit. hoping that maybe i get to see rev. clay evans and maybe hear him talk or sing or something. he is one my favorite and would just love to go and see what i can see and have some church while doing it.

  • @fstanley35 great word about Miss Loretha, she is the one!

  • @fstanley35 I MISSED IT! What year was this Reunion???

  • @zodiolestes Recorded Live in July 2005 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church Chicago

  • sounds like an old baptist song from way back then, OF COURSE a negro spiritual

  • this is a wonderful song

  • Makes me wanna cut a step!

  • Her dimples are beautiful!

  • lllewis65 my sista..listen close...the Sop and Altos stay with the song all the way...the Tenors are very strong and almost overpower; however, if you listen close the Sopranos and Altos are there..and are blowin! And oh my God...listen to the 1st Sopranos....Amazing performance!

  • If the director is on here, great song, great choir; what happened to the parts on the vamp??? Everyone dropped to tenor and there are about 300 choir members mostly sopranos and altos... Just curious. Teachable moment for me would to have my sops sing all the way through @ rehearsal/with tenors and make sure they don't drop; same w/altos....Sounds GREAT!!! Sing Ms. Loretta.

  • The spirit moves.Praise the Lord.that put a smile on my face and joy in my heart!

  • thank you Lord, I'm on my way to heaven!!!

  • they sang this song at my grandma's funeral...although i have never heard this arrangement...it is great!

    Thank God!

  • they are singing for the blood!!!!! yes suh!!!! thats church!!

  • i enjoyed that

  • i think that i hav watched every video of miss loretta leading songs, and i noticed that on every one of them she tear the song up and then very humbly and gracefully goes and takes her place in the choir stand. no extra running round or trying to be seen or stuff like that. • when i bought my cd of this i was saddened that this song wasnt on it.

  • I'm sure. However, the CD includes Loretta singing "It Is No Secret", and the choir (with Miss LouDella directing) sings "Even Me."

I was able to buy the DVD and the CD as a set for $20. The Lord allowed me to go over to the Ship and purchase the set shortly after the project was presented to the public.

  • hey, is this song on the dvd at least?

  • Yes, all the postings of the Reunion Choir concert/recording are from the DVD footage. So, once you order the DVD, you will have this song and video for your personal enjoyment.

  • This has truly blessed me. I love the way they let God use them. Ms. Loretta just flat out handled this song.

  • I just found this clip and I can't stop playing it. You can tell Sis Oliver is really into this song and the choir is right there with her. I wished we could get a look at the soprano that's backing her up, I think I know her. I love the inter action between the director and Sis Oliver. I only regret that he ended this to soon. Any chance there's a dvd out there somewhere? Please let us know, I'm sure I'm not the only person that would purchase, no matter the cost. Thanks

  • Yes, this entire series is from a DVD/CD project. You may call the church at (773) 373-8550 for information about DVD. Ask for the LouDella Evans-Reid Celebration Reunion Choir recording.

    Be Blessed!!!!

  • hey its actually 3 sopranos adlibing; one is in the front w glasses; the main one is in the back of the tenors w glasses-as the cam pans thru pay attention becuz they show her several times. then the last one is in the front section behind felicia coleman evans w braids pulled up inn a bun...oh trust, i was scopin out my note hitters!!!! lol i do wonder tho y felicia didnt use her coloratura notes tho...

  • I agree loretta is a beast !!!!

    she tore this song up!

  • I love this song!!!

  • in 2:12-2:17 there is a woman with an exclusive head covering called a "mantle" worn by Sabbath Keeping women in an organization called the House of God, I didn't know that women besides them wore those.

  • That is Sis. REDD from Cleveland Ohio House of God, 1194 E. 79th Street. Shiloh Temple House of God, Bishop Steven L. Best. She is a FORMER member of Fellowship and this was a reunion choir.

  • I am thoroughly inspressed with the annointing that is coming through the screen on this video. You can really tell when there are choir members in the choir who are totally sold out for Jesus. Their walk and commitment comes through in their voices.

Some things can not be faked. Pure Gospel preaching and singing are two of those things!

    Just Beautiful!

  • Yes for having that head covered at 2:12...that the old way...lol. Love it!

  • yes, she covered that head!!!

  • Now, Thats How A Choir Suppose To Sound & Thats The Way They Suppose To Put Out...

  • The answer is very simple. What we experienced at Fellowship was what the Bible tells us to do and for some strange reason we don't get it. We have to Fast and Pray and be serious about Music Ministry. God will then bless and you will see the positive results. Ma LouDella made us Fast and Pray, read our Bible, we had to recite bible scripture before rehearsal, we had shut-in's, we prayed on our knees. We sought God morning, noon and night.
