  • I just have this today. It is my favorite of the comic packs...

  • this is my favorite comic pack.

  • the only person who could keep up with fel in a tie fighter was tycho celchu who was also a "hot stick" in a tie fighter (what with being eximperial navy pilot funnily enough in t.i.e.'s)

  • Just remember Lord Vader. He shot down most of the origional Rouge Squadron in Epid IV. I would consider Fel the second best Tie pilot in the Empire next to Vader !

  • i wasnt including vader because he has force abilities to augment his considerable flying abilities was sticking to mere mortals .....lol also rogue squadron didn't exist in episode 4 as it was incepted after the battle of yavin, yavin squadron was red squadron and before that the tefieron yellow aces who's notable members were jek porkins, wes janson and biggs darklighter and tomer"ejector"darpen.

  • and strangly the yellow aces were primarely an Y-wing squadron.

  • True it techincally doesn't. But in the rouge Squadron books they refer to the pilots that made the run on the first Death Star as the origional Rouge Squadron.

I don't know if they try to honor the pilots who died their with refering to them as Rouge Squadron members or if Stockpole simply made an error in doing this by not doing enough reserch into the movies ?

  • i think they considered the battle of yavin pilots honourary rogue sqdrn pilots because of the noble sacrifice and it was the greatest victory in the alliance's history but also incurred the greatest losses at that time and rogue sqdrn was meant to exemplify pilots who would take on the toughest assignments and complete them whatever the cost just like red sqdrn(or blue sqdrn if you read the original book! as luke was known as blue 5)

  • Blue five huh. I did have the origional Empire Strikes Back book once as a kid in Washington, but never the origional part IV. Interesting note, thanks.

I've got one for you. A freind of mine just picked up a new book on the making of part IV. Since Peter Cushing had hugs feet, and the Nazi like boots hurt him, he wore teenishoes though the whole film. If ya watch closely, they never film Grand Moff Tarkin below the waist !

  • apparentley at one point he wore slippers with pompoms on them everyone was trying to keep a straight face as he was marching around being all evil with these really gay slippers on

  • baaah, that is so funny. I always loved him as a villan. Such charisma !!! I got the first action figure of him they ever made plus another one in the Death Star confrence room set.

Would be hilarious if they made a special action figure of him with the slippers !

  • at one point baron soontir fel was a member of rogue sqaudron! and is married to wedge antilles sister!!

  • Oh, I am an avid reader of the SW books "Exept the Vong books" I know who Hobbie is and all. I like the concept of a Fel figure but I wish they would not have made him with the garring oversights I have pointed out.

  • which ones are your favorites? i have 60 novels so far

  • Oh, without a doubt the Heir to the Empire trilogy. Plus vision of the futre and Specter of the Past.

Zhan is a superb writter and I even have an autograph copy of Allegiance I got from him. I was still in the Navy and my best bud went down to where he was haing a book singing at a local bookstore in Anchorage where he singed a copy of it and gave my a personal thanks for serving in the military.

Zhan writting is superb and Thrawn is his best charecter by far !

  • nice must agree the heir to the empire trilogy is superb mind you i do love the x-wing books they are very well written and its nice to bring some of the lesser characters to the fore and seriously flesh them out.i have a first edition of splinter in the minds eye.

  • wow! I thought I read a lot of sw books!

  • derek "hobbie" klivian "the dour one" (you'll have to read the x-wing novel "starfighters of ardumar" to understand that one lol, he appears in the empire strikes back at echo base hanger he is the pilot who remarks to leia "2 fighters against a stardestroyer!"

  • one of the better comic packs

  • Yeah, the X Wing Pilot has gloves when he has atmosphere and everything in his ship yet the Tie is suppose to be zero vaccum. They shoulda just taken the 181st pilot "Who I also have" with Fels head. He just doesn't look right getting into the Tie at all !!!

A couple of other things is that he's HUUUGE and with a tiny gun. Plus his uniform quite does not match the other 181st pilot I have.

That said the removable breathing gear is cool. But they shoulda made him more of a real Tie Pilot.

  • I was gonna warn you not to get that one. The X Wing pilot is fine but Fel has two galrring features.

First, as has been mentioned he does not fit into the interceptor. So if you were gonna buy 12 of um and have him be the leader of the 181st forget it ! He will barely squeeze into my Tie Bomber but fits into Vaders Tie Advanced just fine "Mainly becouse it's made for Vader who is big anyway:"

The other feature my freind pointed out in line as I was buying this. HE HAS NO GLOVES !!!

  • It is his height mainly, his legs are too long so he doesn't go all the way in without forcing it & probably snapping him in two lol

  • One of my favourite comic packs. I don't like how Fel doesn't fit in the TIE Interceptor from TAC >:(

  • Ok I didnt know he didnt fit. What part of him is too big ? The torso or is it his height? They really should think abit more at hasbro about this like that.
