  • @V234GL3 oh my gosh don't do that...I got mine done at the surgeons office and it hurts like hell!!! Don't do it..!

  • I hate that if you don't have dental insurance, that you are really screwed ,I'm 25 and I really take care of my teeth but I chipped a small hole in my upper back tooth and is staring to get sensitive, dentist said I need a root canal and crown but it's going to cost like 1100 dollars ,most people don't have cash like that on tap,now I have no options and it's stressing me out ,I can't find any insurance that will do that kind of work before a year,I have no idea what to do

  • Are you struggling with weight or are you just morbidly obese? Instead of spending the money on that tongue stud you could have spent it on Weight Watchers - correct?

  • @USPS4185 WOW! Do you talk to everyone like that? Sad! Actually since this video I have lost 50+ lbs and it wasnt wasting my money on some diet program! But I appreciate your concern. I just hope you are careful from now on how you approach people when your commenting!

  • @USPS4185 thats not the way you should comment. done be hating , i think she is beautiful and she will look really beautiful once she looses the weight , shes atleast trying unlike those people who dont give a damn , i think you shouldnt just pass stupid comments man , grow up

  • @wwicka I did lose the weight... just havnt posted anything in a long time! I need to though so you all can know how I did it! thanks for sticking up for me though! God Bless

  • I just had a root canal and he put in a temporary filling. Okay I was like why didn't you put in a permanent filling to cover the root canal. He said the walls of the teeth were weak and need a Crown. Hmmm....I was suspicious and began researching

I am willing to take my chances by getting a permanent filling, if the tooth wall does break,..THEN I will get a crown. Why do it before?! Dentists push crowns like a car salesman pushing autos on the lot,..it's a business

  • You have very nice teeth =) Have you ever had cavity ? I filled my first today : ( I`m afraid the tooth will brake.. It was a small cavity, but i hate the thought of a broken tooth... Does this happen ?

  • yeah speakin about not having teeth come in on the right time my dad he has no teeth and i inharited that so when i was 9 i lost my first tooth yay! but ive only lost 2 teeth dont laugh at me its not my fault!

  • Also, I would like people to know that a lot of the price they are paying at the dentist's office are for the lab fees that the dentist must send their work to. (the lab is the place that makes your crowns). If the lab is more expensive they are usually a better and more well respected lab that takes time and puts effort into their work so that it is perfect for the patient.

  • I also wanted to say that it upsets me that she is saying a lot of dentists are money hungry. What the public doesn't know is that we spend most of our lives studying. I personally gave up most of my childhood to become a dr. so that I could help people and I feel like I should be compensated for it. This isn't because I am "money hungry" but because I have over 250,000 in student loans I have to pay off for the next 40 years. Not to mention the millions it costs to open a practice.

  • Hi everyone! I'm a dentist and just wanted to say most of her information she is telling is correct. However, the reason you want to leave "baby" teeth in and get them filled instead of extracting/pulling them is b/c they are space maintainers. They help guide the follicle (the developing adult tooth) into its correct location. If you do not get it filled, the cavity can disrupt the follicle and your child could have deformities/defects, etc. on their adult teeth when they erupt.

  • Have you looked into the paleo diet? (more of a lifestyle than diet)

  • most dentists don't know themselves what Dental Fluorosis is.

  • Is it normal to feel pain while the dentist is drilling a tooth in order to get it ready for a filling? She applies local anesthetic, however, I can still feel pain at times and it's very uncomfortable and unpleasant.

  • my dentist hurts me she says she dose not but she dose it on purpose because got there braces and it did not hurt only got bottum done for my top i went to another dentist and it did not hurt

  • Stop giving your kid a bottle full of milk or juice during the day or to put to sleep at night, or sugar filled snacks...any 3 year old with bombed out teeth = neglect on the parents part. Don't blame the dentist...blame the parent!

  • I hate dentist u know how many teeth they pulled out of my little mouth and they lied once. " oh no were not pulling the tooth out just looseing it" then they pulled it out and I felt it

  • @kater1998 Im so sorry to hear that!! Even though lots of Dentist are like Mechanics and just want your money... there are some good, honest dentists out there! You just have to be patient and test them out! Get references from their other patients, whatever you need to do to feel comfortable and well taken care of!

  • I had a broken tooth and went to the dentist immediately, they offered me a root canal, and i said just pull it out, sounds stupid thing to do but it saved me a lot of money and pain in the long run.

  • wow. i broke my tooth and the root canals and cap were painless... sorry. it was about 2-3k i dont remember and my tooth looks totally normal

  • @jmm121884 if only people knew what the doctors where paying for the supplies! Its crazy what they charge... most people now adays cant get work done anymore (including me) due to finances and discusting dental insurance!

  • @fukdyamum we dont want to lose our teeth though! Most of the time it causes more problems down the road!

  • random but you have a really pretty smile! lol

  • @seriousblond007

    i agree.

  • It's called gutta percha, I worked with an endodontist.

I also worked for a lousy DDS, that would do Rct, and not do the proper restoration... you're right about some of these DDS, It's very sad.

  • First of all: thanks for sharing your tips and the deep and very comprehensive insight. Second: I wish you all the luck with your weight loss goal. Please don't feel bad if it doesn't work out - you still look gorgeous with a few extra pounds on. Trust me. And of course, everyone notices: your teeth are just great - they are eye candy.

I brush lightly, twice a day for a long time - sometimes twice if I don't feel clean - and I floss carefully every other evening.

  • That was very nice of you thanks.... the great news is that me and my sister have been losing weight together and praying to God every day for strength! I am actually down 26lbs since then and am gonna keep going! So praise God it IS working out! And as for your brushing and flossing... its still more than lots of people and kids too! Kinda sad but true! I really want to make dental knowledge a ministry of mine! NE ways try to floss once a day! You will see improvement just from that! God Bless

  • Will do. Thanks for the tip. I use always tooth paste from the pharmacy (no cheap stuff) - to prevent periodontal desease - which is really painful: I saw that in other people.

I noticed that you are a very religious person. Well just to let you know: I play (among other professional music work) the Hammond organ with a gospel choir (outside the US that is). I love it.

  • I don't consider myself religious... just saved! I have a deep relationship with God! Ya my religion is Christian but I call myself a follower of Christ! Too many people don't walk the walk... they just talk! So I do have a heart to spread the good news and pray for others when God opens that door! So if you or anyone needs prayer, please let me know! I pray God continues to know Us more and more every day! AMEN

  • I noticed you have a tongue ring, did you know a tongue ring can damage your teeth?

  • Yes I am fully aware that it CAN happen! Like lots of things if your careless bad stuff can happen! I have had my tongue ring for about 3 years and never had a problem! Thanks for commenting and God Bless!

  • I am a dentist and so is my son. We want everyone to know that we do not practice dentistry for the money. We pay our employees and buy our dental supplies and pay our rent from our welfare checks that we get because we do not practice dentistry for the money. We have to skip out on continuing education because our welfare checks just do not provide enough money for that. Food for our families is pretty dear because we do not practice dentistry for the money.

  • Good to hear you don't practice for the money and I know there are some Great, well educated Dentists who care for others and don't lie! But truth of this world is that there ARE dentist who do lie about teeth for more money... or even do wrong dental work to make more money or get as much as they can out of insurance! Applause for those who don't! God Bless

  • Thanks for the info! I went to a dentist recently and he told me I have gum disease and wanted to do a deep cleaning. It's super expensive and I don't know if he was just trying to get money out of me or not. As far as I can tell, if I do have it it is in the very early stage. He told my friend the same thing and her gums are not bad either. I also saw on here that 90% of people have it. How necessary is deep cleaning on a mouth in stage one gum disease? Good luck with the weight loss!!!!

  • One hard thing with Dentistry is YA... some dentist do it for the money!! Sad world!! But I would recommend getting a second opinion from a well experienced, recommended dentist! Get the measurements of the gums done and go from there! Cleanings are very important no matter what the stage you are in cause the longer you dont take care of it the more likely you are losing bone! We need that to hold our teeth in! God Bless and I hope the best for you!

  • Thanks :)

  • Nevada and California. Nice choices!

  • i hear ya!

    and ur teeth are great!!

i have had soo many fillings and they have done nothing. finally someone who understands...

  • Are you thinking Gutta-percha? I think you're teeth look straight and white! Why did you quit working for such a nice dentist?

  • Ya thats the word... Its been over a year and all I think about now is flossing and brushing! Thank goodness! Thanks for the comment and I moved out of Vegas where I was working for him and am now a stay at home mom on the coast of California, living for God and doing things for his GLORY!

  • Look at you! I'm with ya, girl...
