Dude, Ed Boon(creator of the game) wanted to have a teen rated game for a MK game without pushing it to Mature in the game rating. So when the game was designed, it had much more blood in the game than usual. But Ed just cut off some blood so it'll fit for a teen rated game. He didnt want to much violence to cause the game to go to M rated. He did this because of all the DC universe fans that don't want to have somehting to do with blood in the game since they were superheros.
