If Victim Support is the best Dubstep has to offer, then I may as well just stick with D&B. Anyone reminded of PRACTICALLY 1/3 of all D&B tunes being at half step and sounding like this WAY before Dubstep got hot? Seriously... Dubstep is getting to the point where it's just D&B at half the speed. Not impressive.

Sorry mate, but you seem to be confusing musical development and progress with just turning up the tempo. Actually, a half speed DnB record is/would be considerably slower than this, what with the bpm of DnB running at about 165-175 and most dubstep sitting in the 130-140 range. Anyway, don't get to wrapped up in genres. Genres mean rules, and maybe some ppl just wanted to make slightly different music than what was around, and lots of ppl liked it, then somebody slapped a label on it, and then

everybody decided to start deciding what were acceptable rules within this genre, and ppl start talking about 'the point' of that style of music.

And for the record, the big difference between "generic dubstep and DnB@ is the variety of the basslines and there construction within a single song. just listen to Well'Ard by Rusco (or caspa?)
