Respectfully, Adam, I notised that the shift lights on you steeringwheel are partially on just before entering that fatal high speed turn. It is my humble opinion that shortshifting to a higher gear at that moment would've prevented the car from reacting so violently. Greetings from a french-canadian driving on REAL ice 4-5 months per year! ; )
From a marshals perspective, getting that shout back from the driver yeah i'm ok, makes all the difference to your day.
Slightly mute note but strange how the circuit itself hasn't changed but since the banking has gone up round from post 9 - 10 the crashes seem to head out more to 12 and 14. Even though the tarmac is the same, almost as if the chance in armco has changed the way the corner is attacked.
Bad luck! Didn't Alain Menu have a similar crash in a Renault Laguna back in the 90's? I seem to remember an onboard shot of him ending upside down in the bushes at that exact corner.
chris your right i am adam. if you all read the description above the whole grid went out on brand new slicks, on a wetter track than we first thought. after i went off nearly everybody came in to put wets back on, it was like driving on ice...
he almost did that a couple times, either hes got sloppy hands or those cars are REALLY hard to control...looked to be mostly the latter, they dont like to be hung out sideways.
@ke0ki2k they do look like a bit of a handful, even when he squeezes the throttle slightly the rear wants too kick out, maybe because of cold tyres too if he's just went onto track? Either way the going backwards bit must have been a brown underwear moment!
...........Whoops. You can tell he's obviously cross with himself given his exclamation at the end ;-) once he got that tankslapper on though he wasn't ever getting out of that!
Where'd you get the footage from? Unusual to see raw VT unless you know someone in the team ... or you are Adam? ;) Either way, cheers for uploading, interesting to watch (and the off made me wince!)
i've been upside down before and all you wanna do is get out of the car, it sucks he was stuck in there for so long..
