  • they call it Virgin because it hasn't fucked the other airplanes yet

  • What if you puke ?

  • I live in El Paso TX which is about 2 hours south of Upham NM which is where "spaceport america" is. If you drive up I25 on ur way to albuquerque ur sure to see it. All there is is a sign with a little rocket ship on it and a cell phone antenna. We are a LONG way from space.

  • @bizarrefruit I remember somebody on the science channel said that it would take less time to travel on a space jet than an average one bound to earths atmosphere. I forgot why do you know?

  • no bathrooms?

  • So basically all you need is $200,000 to survive 2012. Sweeeeet!

  • @patrickdrama im gona highjack the spaceshit and go to mars, live there in peace

  • @juki0h lol

  • 5 people are too fat to go into the spaceship

  • So there's gonna be end of the world in 2012 ant these are the arks for those who are rich enough :)

  • @filu0iphone And where will they go...?

If we'll die we'll die... there is no escape.

  • to fly for 5mins in weightlessness i must pay 200k $? ok thanks...

  • Someone forgot about the wheel to the chassis at the end ?! ;-) ... however... AMAZING

  • but it cost 200000 $... ;(

  • sell lotto tickets for a ride please !

  • dream ......

  • one day i will go into space....put on a superman costume...and fly...Only then will i be king of the geeks!

  • @LawsonMovies me too i was thinking about painting my self white and tying myself around the space shuttle

  • @EdiownedU wouldnt that kill you in a very painfull way?

  • @LawsonMovies yea whats your plan?

  • @EdiownedU umm hopefully in the future space travel wont cost much soooooooo.......yeahhhhhh

  • "You are now cleared to move about the cabin."

  • I bet they keep you in a room with a motion simulator

  • What if you puke, while wearing that helmet?

  • too bad i dont have $200k to spend =\

  • thats just amazing, hopefully they can drive to price down and maybe i can afford to travel one day! bucket list :)

  • I played 009 Sound System - Dreamscape in another window while watching this vid muted. Awesome!

  • DUH, Rohan, It flew on the 27th of April 2011. I was there Duh

    m

  • This gave me a boner no lie lol

  • I can't imagine sitting in the very end.

  • finally after all those episodes of star trek....now if i can just learn the spock hold i could die a happy man.

  • Fantastico!!!

  • You can't really argue that it costs too much.... The money pumped into this project and the cost of each flight would mean that they're not going to break even for quite a while!

It's a seriously huge amount of money for a small amount of time but if you can afford it, when else will you get to go to space? I imagine the cost will come down quite a lot eventually but it'll never be affordable to the majority.

  • Too short for the price

  • جميل جداً

  • @BeavisDude88 I was being sarcastic.

  • I was so impressed that I did a little pretentious-esque clap at the end of the video.

  • brillant and exciting but I dont care about floating in space i want to get to fly london sydney thru space in 35min -60min now thats a revolution.

  • i was born in the wrong generation. If I were born just 100 years later I would have a shot at this, and maybe even cloning to revive the dead, personal jetpacks, and ambient walls in houses. Motherfucker.

  • @j2ching who knows u might be just in the right era, knowing human beings we could end up blowing ourselves up in 100 years

  • Question: how long are would passengers be in space? and what exactly would passengers do once they are in space?

  • @leoellion Yeah same question, waste lots of energy in few minutes and waste time for taking off, release spaceship and fly out of atmosphere just for few minutes fun??

  • @leoellion 4 mintues i think they were showing the timer

  • Flights will start at $750.

  • what if u need to ralph?

  • This is just scary-exciting stuff. All of us Baby Boomers thought we'd be doing this via NASA by now. Maybe, just maybe, I might just get there before I'm too old. Maybe.

  • The Space age has begun

  • i want to bust a nut in outer space and watch it float

  • @bitcheznhos AGREED!

  • It's a step closer. The truth is, we need to start leaving earth and colonizing other places. Earth will not last too much longer if we continue to treat it as it is right now, and it WILL become overpopulated very soon, and that can't be avoided. We must start colonizing other planets, we must start using space travel...

  • Ok, Guys you know this costs 250k per person, you only spend 45 minutes in space, anf it take 2-3 hours to get kitted up with oxygen ect. so its a waste of time and money. But you can officially say that your and astronaught and that you have been in space, something many people doubt has ever happened before.

  • Stupid, why woul some one pay 200,000 for an hour or something in space, stuck in some ship? no thanks.

  • @2007niko2007 , I agree. I would at most pay $195,000 tops. What are they thinking ! ! !

  • @2007niko2007 With an attitude like that we would still be sitting in a cave or swinging from the trees.

Remember when mobile phones first came out, they cost thousands of dollars. Now you can get the most expensive iphone for a miniscule monthly amount.

The cost will come down and anyone will be able to afford it, if your heart can take it.

  • @oneslifesadream Don't mean the price but the point of sitting in a room on a ship that is in space doesn't really hit me... everyone has different opinions and mine is that nothing good will come from some tourists in space, fucking up the atmosphere even more just to look down on earth. Sounds pretty silly to me :)

  • @2007niko2007 You might be in a spot of bother in space without that tiny room on a ship.

To me it's like climbing Mt Everest. I'm not saying the effort or skill factor is the same but the chance to climb to the top of the world and take time to look down on creation.

It may give many a greater appreciation of the earth and how really beautiful and fragile it is.

It might make us realize how small the world really is. As you put it, it may stop us from fucking up the atmosphere.

  • @2007niko2007 pretty sure this is for people who dont care about money. if your not a multimillionaire, you wont be doing this

  • It's amazing I live in an era now where ALMOST average people can travel to and from space on a daily basis. I remember when I was a kid, my grandfather telling me about when he first heard about Orville and Wilbur Wright's first solo flight.

If Virgin Galactic plays their cards right, the high demand for these flights might enable them to offer low rate financing on space flights. Hell they could offer something like "coupon day for the whole family"

  • I'm very sure that the space flight would be much more exciting than a normal air flight.

  • DAMN IT! I want to go on a space tour...200,000 dollars is too much for me. Oh aw.....

  • How much would you be willing to pay for a commercial flight in the VSS Enterprise to suborbital space?

  • What program is used to construct this animation...MAYA?

  • @JHAAMYEESS lol u thinking of going?

  • And you get to go to area 51 :)

  • a good leap into space but I'm afraid of it

we crash on land, we sink at sea, we fall from the sky

    |while we pissed our pants|

    space the other tragedy hahaha

  • wow!!!! finally!!!

  • Jaaaaaaaaaaaa

    y yap :D

es el millon de dolares q mas rapido se ha ido :D

  • I LOVE the top of the animation shuttle the evolution of flight did anyone see that very nicely done.

  • Nice we are falling...SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • que lo pario.... estos cubanos, que adelantados que están..!!!!

  • wow nice

  • it is bulid now

  • @6525jacob yes

  • nice piece

  • Duh, it's an animation

  • It is possible but this shit really excists or it can be made in future who knows?

  • the first public space port is opening in dec 2010!!! there will be 3 private space companies

  • Its suppose to be ready by late 2010-2011 in the Virgin Space Port in Mojave, New Mexico...

  • @hatakekakashi1914 Mojave, California.

  • @hatakekakashi1914 wtf so it could be ready by now?

  • @Lizgonnie They have done test flights of both the mothership and the smaller craft, both fly perfectly, they predict first space flight for 2013, meaning a flight from Australia to the UK will take under 3 hours, incredible really. They also have said that as far as space tourism is concerned, space flights will cost around 200k a head, which if you think about it is also an incredible feat, considering the closest price to that is 1,000,000.

It's an exciting and scary new age!

  • @hatakekakashi1914 the facility has just been made by now. I think first flight may start by mid of 2012?

  • The biggest problem we have is finding a different power source . All would be much easier if we could have some sort of electrical impulse engines or something that doesn't use combustion , if only we could once again have such geniuses as Tesla , Einstein , Oppenheimer , Von Braun , Edison ...

  • the world would be a worse place if sir richard branson wasn't around. its dreamers like him who teach us what you can achieve. this is the future.

  • Hats off Mr. Branson!!! a proper venture for the future and a true sense in to travel!

  • I really want to do this... dream of dreams... must be awsome to look at our mother earth from that point... even for an animated charactor...

  • Love it.

  • THAT IS FUCKING COOL

  • wow 5 jet engines

  • lol at 2:10

  • I want to work for Richard Branson!!

  • how is this going to the moon

  • this would be so cool

  • where's the pilot?

  • I vow to be on one of these flights. Will have to be when the cost comes down, as its sure to do, as with all commercial ventures.

  • same here!

  • this is not far from reality

  • only 2 years away allegidally haha.

  • they should have family discounts

  • Great vid, Thanks Suzzane!

  • when do we leave!

  • it costs $200,000 that is exclusive only for rich ppl :( sad I might not be able to go :((

  • im doing an add for this for a calss project, it only costs $600 for a week end in space :D

  • Just decide to go and tyhen do whatever it takes. If you think it is impossible for you, then it will be. Success starts with beliving it is possible, you just have to figure out how.

  • When the plane landed it had o front wheel just a sliver of metal. Will it skid all over the place? lol

  • i saw tht yester day it is very kewl

  • i's shit myself on the paart why you fall

  • Ah! If I could won at the lotery to pay these 200 k€ !

NB. Will Whitehorn, president of Virgin Galactic, expected to begin flights in 2008. In 2009, the track is not built yet.

  • Do you know when it is expected to take passengers?

  • they reckon it could be 2011

  • they are selling tickets now...there is quiet a waiting list already

  • amazing , hopefully in my lifetime !

  • wow....

  • Beautiful

  • who's flying the spacecraft?

  • I wonder if they show a movie and serve dinner? Do they have peanuts?

As gator966 mentioned, now the other plane makes sense. Pretty cool.

Now I am trying to decide if I should buy one of these or get a gas powered La Z Boy recliner.

  • i didnt see any engines to controll it in space?

  • why does the tail move vertical once theyre in space?

  • it applies drag to the spaceship and reduces the temperature on descent. So that the spaceship does not burn up.

  • how does it apply drag IN SPACE?

  • It doesn't. It applies drag as it reenters the atmosphere.

  • Not in space offcourse. Drag in The atmoshpere on the way down

  • ya, so why are they deployed as soon as they are in 0 gravity?

  • Why,not? It would be to late when they hit the athmosphere. Come on, find the scientific part of the brain in you!

  • theyre up there for like 5min minimum

  • Wikipedia: Atmospheric_reentry#Feathered_reentry In 2004, aircraft designer Burt Rutan demonstrated the feasibility of a shape changing airfoil for reentry with the suborbital SpaceShipOne. The wings on this craft rotate to provide a shuttlecock effect. Notably, SpaceShipOne does not experience significant thermal loads on reentry. This increases drag, as the craft is now less streamlined. The aircraft thus slows down more in higher atmospheric layers.

  • @boobyboob69 aliens sexing it.

  • in 30 years going into space will be as cheap as flights...maybe even shorter

  • i like your dreams of optimism there. but in 30 years we at most would have like 5 diffrent lines of these plains still costing 10's of thousands of dollars at least but as a normal flight naw... it wouldnt happen humans got to deal with problems on the planet instead of taking vacations to space...

  • your quite wrong. the first space port is opening in 2010 then they will start working on using it as high speed transportation. halfway around the world in 1/2 and hour

  • thats right..that is the goal of this "space"line (hehe..airline)...one could travel across the globe quicker and with less effort (not considering the large amount of thrust and fuel it uses to get up to zero gravity)

  • in 30 years this is going to be the norm for travel and we were all here to witness its birth....amazing

  • @edgar5001 well it will be the norm in less than 30 years less than 10 even, i believe the first flight takes place in 2010?

  • I doubt it lol

  • Ok now the plane design in the 1st video makes sense!

  • WHOA- i wanna go into space!

  • AMAZING!!

  • that is just AMAZING!!! I cant wait to see more of this!!! O_O

I hope EVERYONE will get a chance to try this one day whitout paying millions!!!

  • Wow! That was just incredible! Thank you for sharing with us.

  • I just wish every day people could afford it and not those that have millions. Sigh.

  • @hellcat29er

They will afford it one day, but this is the so important first step. 10 People Today, 1000 Tomorrow

  • @hellcat29er

not millions, just 200,000 Dollars xD

  • Awesome video!
