What a cute little stack! Hey, I just got a flawless one with a bunch of other stuff from a liquidation house for 200 bucks! My hunch was RIGHT; the repair guy didn't catch the polarity on the input plug, and I went to Guitar Center, and picked up a Line6 adapter. It is really effin cool, great grooves too:)

I think this is a great looper as are all the Line 6 products I've tried or heard but my only criticism of the JM4 is that the stereo image is crap and the songs are in mono. This is ok if you are running it through an amp or your stereo but on headphones it makes it difficult to hear the balance between your guitar and the backing track. I'm assuming this is because they have used the same hard/software in the Spider Jam which is mono.

I love when people say dont wreck your tone with this pedal.I seen people walk away from a demo embaressed on a blind test between this and your so called analog pedals they couldn't tell the difference when they cant see what unit it was I laugh at you guys.

If there's one downside to this pedal, I think it's the fact that you can't hook it up to your computer directly with POD farm, If Line6 come out with a updated version with that, this thing would be phenomenal.

I have one of these - its really good - but the play foot button broke a year in. Line 6 though have a great technical department. The spare parts look to cost me around £20. Otherwise its well made and lots of fun.

my grandpa gave me this amp and when i got it i was a noobie at guitar and i didnt know what to do with it, now i dug it out of the closet and im just rocking on it i love the loop function its my first looper and it works great. id recommend this but if you were a noobie like me you probly wont know what what is and get bored easily xD

So I have a Line 6 Spider III 150 W amp, and I tried plugging this into it through the guitar input, and I get this feedback when I try playing. Not only that, but it doesn't sound right...do you have any advice as to how i can play it while it's plugged into my amp?

the jm4 is a good looper... however it is very limited when compared to the bos rc-50 in my opinion. the jm4 is exactly like the spider jam amp, which is an awesome amp, but the fact that you only get one phase to record... sort of limits you. the effects aren't very great... better to use flat settings on your amp and this looper and front a effects board like a me-50 or line6 m13

I want to play live and loop guitar with maximum control on when I drop different guitar parts in and out. Would this be the best peddle for that? Also I would like to drop in drum samples created on a computer is that possible using this pedal? And some backing music from an ipod. Any feedback would be much appreciated thanks.

Hey np, I'm just back into the scene and have not idea about how to achieve the sounds I want. I knew the amp was fat, and I got the JM4 mainly to record and practice with, since I don't have a band or anything approaching a studio.

If you've got any more specific advice, I'm all ears.

I like being able to dial in lots of different sounds easily, but don't really know what to look for in analog that I can have all those options with.

@usefulcoin This is just nonsense. this is the PERFECT learning/composing tool, into a valve amp it sounds brilliant and unless you can play in the house at gig levels you will NEVER be able to recreate the sounds this will give you at home. I hve this for everything except gigging.

Hi.I want to ask if I can use jm4 for the following:

Lets say that I have recorded 3 parts of a song to use live (verse,chorus,bridge). Can I scroll through them with my feet and then play the one selected (as a loop or single play)?

Having read the manual I think you can do this only by: hitting "D" switch twice to enter REC SELECT MODE, then scroll through loops with "A" and "B", then select "D" to exit, then "B" to play. For another sample u have to go through all this again. Am I correct ???

Yes, you can change the key and tempo of each of the pre-loaded jam songs. The tempo can be changed on the drum tracks. I just got one of these. Great investment.

Yes. One of the amp models on the LCD is labeled bypass. Now you can either use your Spider tone, your JM4 tone or a combination of both.

Thanks for posting this. I'm an acoustic solo player, and I'm interested in applying the loop effect. Suppose I was playing Wish you were here...could I record the opening riff to the song, then loop it so it plays back while I play the solo overtop? Then, could I continue on playing the song and go back to the opening riff and solo over it again...??? And I'd like to do it all live, not have anything pre-recorded.

I don't know exactly what your asking but i would not recommend this for playing live. Just jammin and havin fun, thats all.

You could do it. You'd want to get very proficient with the timing, but yes, it's very doable.

otherwise known as "Gain" it raises the amount of electricity in the sound as opposed to the volume......some technical stuff not to worry about.
