An interesting take on the classic test pattern. The image of the Native American woman looks like it was taken from an already existing painting. There is a classic diner in my area that has Native paintings, and she looks like one of them.
Check out my two videos parodying the original Indian Head test pattern, including the cartoon "Late Night TV", on my channel.
I used to get up during the last five minutes of this before sign on when I was a kid. I'd wake my brothers up, make them stand at attention, then we'd all put our army helmets on and salute when the national anthem started playing. What the hell was I thinking.
A work of art! We lost something when test patterns like this were replaced with color bars. I remember as a child waking up early on weekend mornings to watch cartoons. It was too early, usually, so I would watch the test pattern.
Mayve that accounts for me being the way I am today.
Me too. Ah, the good old days. Once in a GREAT while a test pattern would be on some cable channel that was on the fritz. I'd leave it on and fade off to sleep. Something's just relaxing about both types of test patterns. You did know about the book "Test Pattern" by Marjorie Kline, didn't you? It's worth a read.
All it really did was be broadcast in the interim before the stations stopped their transmitters when the broadcast day was over. It actually caused the most burnouts in the days it was used.

How appropriate to use an Native-American princess on this old-school test pattern. Bravo!!

Do you ever remember seeing Ch 2 WCBS TV in
New York off the air during the 1970's showing a b&w Test Pattern that was sometimes
accompanied by a 349Hz tone?

wake up dad you left the TV on again....

I've never seen a lady Indian on the test pattern before! How wonderful! Thank you!

Me neither. Nice!

Could 347.5Hz have sounded more like the key of F than 350Hz?
Tuberboy104 4 years ago
Ch 2 in New York sometimes used this same
350Hz audio tone with their b&w WCBS TV Test Pattern during the 1970's!

The last time I could possibly remember an Indian Head Test Pattern was in the mid-1970'w over WGAL-TV Lancaster(PA).

Do you ever remember Ch 2 WCBS TV sometimes having their Test Pattern accompanied by the one similar to the one above (350Hz. or 349.5Hz)?
