Tis a noble thing to restore such a fine machine, indeed.
I would Knight you, but I of course am not the Queen. I don't even know the Queen. My cousin served with Harry in Afghanistan, but that's as close as we got to the Royal Family (Harry is a great guy).
The MG/Austin 1100 series was so far advanced for its time it was incredible.
Nice job mate, I've got an 1100 deluxe on my farm and want to restore it. I don;t know much about cars but was wondering how difficult on a scale of 1-10 it is to work with. also parts? where? and costly?
They're not specific austin rear lights, all mk2/3 cars had them, I have a mk1 Austin 1100 with the other kind of rear lights. Where in ireland are you? I'm in Down, see my videos, wish mine was as clean as yours!
Cool cars. Had 2 of them . only problem was th e hydrolastic suspension. Aer the parts still available as would like to restore one for me son whose about to get his license. Easy too drive go round corners like a go kart and note to much power for a beginner
I've had this car sitting in my garage for over 16 years. Was told last year by a guy in a scrap yard when looking for parts that the Morris 1100 Mk II 1971 I have was a Deluxe model due to the colour of the car orange this guy also said there probably not many of the made. I dont know what the other differences are? Maybe the dash and the lights?
My first car was an MG 1100 and I miss it a lot.
Great job, and thanks a lot for sharing.
