I'm not doubting his ability, Im just saying that he's clearly not vital to the band if his parts are being accompanied and duplicated by a guitarist. Thats like having 2 bass players playing the same thing. Yellowcard makes decent music but they are clearly paying an EXTRA person not a VITAL person. Im in a touring band and when we formed we cut all our loose ends cuz they werent vital.

@TKDCats312 I have to disagree, I probably wouldn't like their sound as much if the violin was more prominent, although when there is violin it usually sounds awesome, plus his backing vocals add to the quality of the live performance in the verses, not that he's majorly important to the band, but he adds gives them a little edge in my opinion, I think he's cool :)

The violinist in this band really annoys me. From the videos I've watched, he only seems to care about playing his violin when he has some sort of solo. There should be more violin in the chorus of this song, he just doesn't care I guess.

@TKDCats312 I kinda agree, but in reality, the lines he does are actually really cool. I transcribed the chorus for my sister so she could do the violin part, and it's actually harder than you think. It's just you can't hear it that well, which sucks. Also, come on, a violin should only have so much attention in a rock song.

If you have a 4/4 time, you take a certain rhythm that is in a 3/4 feel over it. You have to hit at certain points in order for it to work though. The best examples of triplets in modern music can be found in most heavy metal. Still, even if it's not your thing, there are examples everywhere.
