They wil start building a garisson,

once your garison is completed,

you need to send your centurion/chieftain/farao into the village,

then you can start making troops,

I don't have this game, but it's interesting that the units can't be controlled once in combat.

It's one of the elements of online wargames I don't like, the simple fact that 'commitment' of units can be changed at a seconds whim of the player. War is not like that. All that means is the player needs a fast hand on some buttons, and nominal tactical knowledge.

But alas, real style warfare never equates to a popular style game.

Two legions in tortoise formaton with 3 catapult (and archers) and stairs 2 legions in the other side.

The battles in this game are pretty lame but its a overall fun game ;) The reason why the Testudo broke up was because the 'Squad' lacked in Legionaries to simply contain the Testudo :P Cavalry simply kicks ass in this game :D
