Based on the timing of the green light we see, I think he may have ran a red. A couple seconds after the collision, the light turns green leading me to believe he had to have a red at the time.

Where is the green light? I am looking at the three traffic lights that the police camera is look at. All three lights are and REMAIN on the top position of the traffic light arm during this video segment.

Koepple did not run a red light, IMO. The left turning vehicle crossed Koepple's path.

Koepple should have some great IC tort lawyer on retainer as the truck driver's insurance is going to have to pay. Glad this was not another Chris Street type accident.

Look at the street lights facing the camera. You can see that they turn green right after the collision. It won't be hard for investigators to figure out the timing of the lights and see that he probably entered the intersection on a red.

Note, I'm a biker myself and hate inattentive drivers.  But, in this case the rider is at fault.

That said, in the past there have been times when I have not seen a bike and I wasn't on a cell phone. It just wasn't there and then it suddenly was. T

If any charges come against the driver, it'll likely be failure to yield oncoming traffic resulting in an accident (since he was likely on a solid green light for the left turn lane, which requires him to yield to other vehicles before turning). Even if Koeppel had died from this, it wouldn't be Murder. It would be unpremeditated vehicular homicide or accidental manslaughter. They'd plea down for probation and that'd be the end of it.

The camera systems in most cars are designed so that when the lights are activated, the previous minute of film is saved to the hard drive (so that, for example, you have evidence of someone running a stop sign). That's just what it looks like to me,
