Personally I don't think it would be good for the nba to have someone that tall playing. I mean, can you imagine just throwing the ball into him and all he has to do is lay it up without the fear of getting it block. That would be pretty boring basketball if you ask me. I want to see skills and talents not a giant who can stand still and reach up the the rim to lay in the ball. Yao is an exception because he has skills and talent so it's all good.
