  • My dad went to school with her :D yaaay

  • Great Melody...

  • Man, so gooood to dance to. Club music now's got no melody....

  • I knew she was cute. She sure sounds adorable. One of my favorite songs period.

  • Guess what! That woman in the video is my dad!

  • Am a massive saint etienne fan this is just pure brilliance!

  • komonazmuk brought me here, not bad :(|

  • this song discribes life that i'm living right now

  • Love the sound of Indie pop/dance. This brings memory.

  • Nice version...pleasantly surprised that I took a liking to it...

  • I can just picture Neil Young in some 80's/early 90'sneon tights dancing to this like the crazy fool that he is.

  • @nickysappy

Oh, Lord..Got a visual on that notion! Yep, I can see that...

  • i remember this!!

  • No Bad!

  • who were the band in this video???

  • this song is so sad

  • is that sarah cracknell singing? it doesn't look anything like here

  • @divisivecottonwood no it's Moira Lambert, Sarah Cracknell didn't sing this, they made a second video with Sarah miming it.

  • Moira has the sweetest voice......still one of my favorite songs from the 90's......

  • Hello Lucy..get in touch please..Adamski. x

  • That was totally boring. Two drum loops, one piano loop and one bass loop. The sound could have ended half way through and it would still have had the same effect.

  • brilliant song ....

  • Best 1 hit wonder of all time. Enough said.

  • @iamjd32 haha. most underrated of all time maybe. check the back catalog.

  • @iamjd32 Saint Etienne is not a 1 Hit wonder music group. They have much better songs that this!

  • catchy from the very first note to the end of the song, so amazing and fun of a song

  • Im sure ther version I had ended with a womans voice announcing: "The DJ, eases a spliff from his lyrical lips, and smiling orders cease". It was great for a last track!

  • I remember KPWR(POWER 106)/Los Angeles playing this track back in 1992. That was the good ol' days.

  • took me years to realise it was that neil young song! so different.

  • OMG!

    I fell in love!!! 0:52!

  • canseir der cexy--

  • What`d`ye mean "What?" Saint Etienne are a French football team !! Peace Ye`all !!

  • sublime

  • CLAAAAASSIC xD

  • Timeless Tune

  • DAVETONE this is not Sarah Cracknell mate, she's Moira Lambert.

  • woah its rare ladies can get to me in black n white, but ms cracknell's definitely got the charm to pull it off

  • Best ever cover of a song, still love it

  • Love these kinds of beats.

  • im called Etienne! well... like it anyways :)

  • I met the guys from StE in a club in London and told them I was a big Neil Young fan and I loved the version. Pete Wiggs said: "we wanted to do 'On The Beach' " Jeez, that would have been interesting. Unfortunately, the gorgeous Sarah Cracknell wasn't there...

  • ''i have a brand i've never seen''? buying clothes at the local marketplace much?

  • @YouGotTheMelvin It's "I have a friend I've never seen", hence the next sentences referring to a "he" - although it does sound like brand!

  • @HeadlightMorningGlow haha yeah i know, it's just a funny situation in my head if she would say brand

  • I know it is 90's but the synths and bass feels so 80's. I remember hearing this in Dublin playing in a Virgin Store. I bought it instantly. Dreamy stuff. Her voice is incredible. It honors them that they made a different version of Neils song and that it is not a formula 1A cover for gyms.

  • What a great cover .Loved it way back then and still do.Great band

  • wow is that Sarah Cracknell?

  • @Gwanjeles No it's Moira Lambert, Cracknell joined the band later...

  • @Gwanjeles No, it's Moira Lambert. She worked with the band before Sarah Cracknell became a full-time member

  • I can't get enough of this cover; it's bewitching-!!

  • i love it

  • This sounds slightly like Madonna's early music. I like it.

  • spot the drax bomb on the door

  • Moira Lambert es tan sexy, que pena que no continuara en la banda

  • the garage remix of this is too sick

  • Cool and deadly : )

  • even tho this a cover, 90's in general were so much better than todays shite...

& phwoar....out of ten i'd definately give her one ;)

  • One of my favourite covers of all time. <3

  • aw, shes beautiful and talented.

  • only Jesus can save your Life

    XD

  • @RevAnakDaud

Why do people always feel the need to throw their religeous viewpoints at everyone? Can't we just enjoy the music???

  • @brianpurtee because, Jesus is my shrink :D

  • we want these sounds !!

  • brilliant cover

  • Miss Lambert gets sexier every time i watch this!!!

  • like it

  • ç_ç

  • <3

  • that's just nostalgia. Weak vocal, generic monotone beat, hoppy plastic piano... and no harmony and intimacy of the original... if Neil Young was dead, he'd be rolling in his grave.

  • 1991 Eh ! The second summer of love ! Took to Raving and lots of sweeties big style ! Have to admit that when the football scores from around Europe c`mon the news i always keep an eye out for Saint Etienne ! And Ajax and PSV right enough ! Peace Ye`All !!

  • @auto4union erm.. what?

  • u request so we rewindddddddddd

  • This is a classic. Moira Lambert is lovely but then so was Sarah Cracknell. I think this was the original vid but they changed it for the too young to die video collection with sarah. The vid i have seen still had some of the same bits from this one. Moira still gets a vocal credit from the original single.

  • Moira Lambert is so cute and lovely... <3

  • Why does this sound exactly like Ace of Base?

  • @erscott13 you are very wrong. It's just opposite. Saint Etienne is older and original than Ace of Base.

  • @soulrunna I never said Saint Etienne were COPYING Ace of Base. I only said they sound alike. Elise

  • time stood still...

  • Does anyone know where the other video for this song has disappeared to?! The one by St Etienne but with a different singer?

  • carnival ducks baggy dancers and chocolate digestives

  • yuck. nobody tops neil.

  • I just bought a slinky

  • any cover of neil young will sound better

  • nice cover

  • This cover ISN'T better than the original......not by a long shot.

  • [for me]This is dedicated to Kylie Jane Scott, for whom my heart was broken.

I'm thinking about the medication that I was prescribed and another promise made a few days ago.

  • aaaHHHhhhhh YYEEAAHHhhhhh!!!! x

  • AMAZING ! See these eyes ! :)

This song makes me feel happy, yeah !

  • Moira Lambert ! Ok, thanks for info.

  • Did I live the last 20 years in believin', Sarah 's singing here !?

    Shame on me. :)

  • creator, don't let my heart suffer again

  • creator, don't let my hart suffer again

  • who is this girl`` this is not sarah...... !

  • Moira Lambert (Faith over Reason). 90s pop star.

  • Absolutely brilliant remake of the Neil Young classic!

  • España shirt is cool XD

  • she is very good.

  • <3

  • I bet Neil would dig it. He's made electronic music (Trans), played with Devo & Sonic Youth, & he's just cool like that. This version is kind of interesting.

  • Awesome song! I am very proud they chose my city as their bands name :-))

  • Pisses on Niel Young

  • @eurobuddha It's just a differant version. Idiot.

  • love this song back then and now and ever

  • I'll stick with Neil Young's version.

  • Beats the hell out of the original

  • I was always thinking

  • This song reminds me of porking your mom.

  • This brings me back to life.

  • This is the same girl who did "Hug My Soul"? Wow; you can't even recognize her!

  • @hightimesbruce No, different girl. Not only is it a different singer, this is an actress portraying the singer.

  • @kikkiokioli

Actually it is the same singer, but I assume this is an actress.

  • @hightimesbruce I am basing my statement on previous comments in this section, such as this: "She isn't the singer. Moira Lambert was a bit more indie/goth and did the vocals as a session singer. She didn't want anyone to know it was her, so the boys got this girl to do the vid."

  • great song, good memories

  • so cool

  • Does justice to Neil. I never knew it was a cover back then. Now I am a big Neil fan I still love this

  • Out of this world

  • Indie at its best

  • @tonylist73 i never had this down as indie,

  • I thought this song is by I blame Coco

  • i fell in love with this many years ago.

  • Kick-ass cover! I work at Nordstrom, and we play a different cover of this song in the store, but I like this one even better!

  • This is dope!!! I clicked this getting ready to hear some horrible shit.. NOPE...Great cover!!!

  • I never knew this was a cover! cooool!

  • Confusingly, it's Moira Lambert's voice, but Lucy Golden appears in the video.

  • Look up 'Golden - Wishful Thinking' for Lucy's voice. Can't seem to post a link to it here (it's been a long day)

  • Saint Etienne 1

    osama 0

  • 18 people don't have speakers on their computers...

  • I have loved this track for 20 years and yet this is the first time I've ever seen the official video. Great upload and thanks for a fantastic track and many fond memories from back in the day :)

  • Love this jam..

  • babyshambles.......

  • She's pretty. I wish I could find a cute chick who liked to make music.

  • C'est d'une telle tristesse cette chanson, sous ses airs de pop électro

  • i so love this tune :D

  • very beautifull !!!

  • Like so much

  • Loved it back then......love it now.

  • And we thought the footie shirts were retro...

  • cool as fuck !! remember it being played in madchester clubs !!! bring it on !!

  • I like the Masters at Work remix. Is there a version with the vocals, or was it only available as a dub? Peace.

  • man s so pretty

  • good! only good..

  • good! only good..

  • is there two different bands with this name? that's not Sarah Cracknell....

  • @rosskstar It's the same band.

I think SC helped arrange the music, but I recall the singer was called Maureen Lambert.

  • @rosskstar Correction. Moira Campbell (nee Lambert)

  • @newforestroadwarrior say what?

  • it was love at first sight with the girl next door

now all i need to do is find a way to get back to 1990

  • I simply just love this:)

  • Only Saint Etienne can repair your heart.

  • @rhobodub

    thats true

  • @rhobodub . I love he song too. It has stood the test of time.

  • Why the hell is "Who Do You Think You Are" blocked from St. Etienne's bloody own YouTube channel?! I just clicked the video and got the message that "The contents of this video have been blocked by WMG." Bloody hell! I'm irate now. :-|

  • yeah this is a good cover

  • I Blame Coco - Only Love Can Break Your Heart (Best New Cover)

  • Used to play this all the time and still love it today.

  • keep coming back to this even after 20 years .so good

  • great new take on a fave Neil Young track!! never heard it before - I love the song but any 'good' retreatment is ok by me & this is original!

  • 15 people's hearts were broken because of love.

  • @Snowflakes12346 - more like 326,603 people were.

  • @Snowflakes12346

u think it was only 15??

  • @tdavidc80 no i was talking about the song. NOT IN REAL!

  • Great 90's cover. Played on WDRE in NY back in the day. Sampled a lot in the clubs then. Brings me back.

    Thanks for posting.
