You are someone who understand players friend. Abou, as a matter of fact was formed to be a striker. He played striker for most of his youth career in France in the Clairefontaine Academy. Due to his physic and lenght, he was later repositioned as a midfielder. Playing him defensively is actually hindering on his natural abilities for he has great touch and skill. Playing him "a la gerrard" is probably the best way of maximizing his potential!
i don't agree, he is very similar to vieira. both strong as fuck, both skillful: remember how many times vieira used to pick it up and beat a player, flick it over their heads etc., both quick, both good in the tackle(admittedly vieira was better there), both have belting right feet but don't use them as much as we would like. diaby is more attacking, but remember vieira used to load up the bullets with either grimandi, vivas or petit sitting. i think the similarities are striking.
good point but abou cannot tackle for shit. He does some very reckless and dangerous tackles and unlike flamini ,doesnt connect with the ball. Then if he gets yellowed he (naturally) shy's away from tackles. I think denilson is doing good atm and song. Diaby needs to up his game in the premierleague. he doesn't suck,and im happy arsenal bought him...i understand he doesn't have that much of speed which is what he will devolop in time becuz that is something you have to get to and work for.speed. but really managers and coaches don't take speed as a first thing they judge a player on...they look for fitness and playing style and aditude etc. he has good control and he is a good player and he is still learning, he looks lazy becuz he doesnt have the seed of messi ronaldo henry etc....

as an arsenla fan, i can say hand on heart that he is the biggest liability on in the squad, he is lzy as hell, slows down our attacks with the 10 minuites it appears for him to make a decision, clumsy first touch, poor passing accuracy,NEVER tracks back (which is probly a small mercy because he cant tackle anyway)..im just so pissed off to see him put in 3 consecutive lathargic and poor performances against our biggest rivals in the late knock out stages of cups,

You are someone who understand players friend. Abou, as a matter of fact was formed to be a striker. He played striker for most of his youth career in France in the Clairefontaine Academy. Due to his physic and lenght, he was later repositioned as a midfielder. Playing him defensively is actually hindering on his natural abilities for he has great touch and skill. Playing him "a la gerrard" is probably the best way of maximizing his potential!

i don't agree, he is very similar to vieira. both strong as fuck, both skillful: remember how many times vieira used to pick it up and beat a player, flick it over their heads etc., both quick, both good in the tackle(admittedly vieira was better there), both have belting right feet but don't use them as much as we would like. diaby is more attacking, but remember vieira used to load up the bullets with either grimandi, vivas or petit sitting. i think the similarities are striking.

good point but abou cannot tackle for shit. He does some very reckless and dangerous tackles and unlike flamini ,doesnt connect with the ball. Then if he gets yellowed he (naturally) shy's away from tackles. I think denilson is doing good atm and song. Diaby needs to up his game in the premierleague. His championsleague performances are amazing but he cannot re-create that form in the premier league for some reason.

Arsenal need to play Diaby more. People ridiculing him are off base. He has the most potential on the team -- unquestioned size and technical ability. Wenger should just start him, and play him every game. He would solidify the center with more time in games.

Wenger will buy nasri for cover on the left flank (though he's not left-footed). Who was back-up for Rosicky this season? Abou Diaby. Don't think wenger will buy anymore for midfield. Diaby will slot into the holding role. This will change if Hleb/Gilberto Silva goes, but I don't think none of them will. Arsene will also probably buy a promising centre-back. No forwards, Vela's coming back. Sometimes I wonder why Wenger thrusts so much in his youngsters. I hope they'll pay him back next season..
